The reality is Mbappe does not satisfy with his career in PSG. He see the club has opportunity to win Champions League because he has experience to know that the difference between champions and losers are small in some cases. With his experience in France national team, he should know it.

Moreover, he does want to win personal titles which he thinks he can not get such in PSG. It are probably one of biggest reasons and motivation why he does want to play in Real Madrid. The club has many super stars who win many Ballon d'Or and other personal titles. PSG is not a club at such level and has such tradition.

Beating Real Madrid or winning one Champions League can not change all history. Chance to win 3 Champions League like Real Madrid and Zizou is very small. It takes Chelsea many years from their first Champions League trophy to their second trophy. Chance to win a few Champions League in 5 or 10 years is low because it is scarce to see a club like Barcelona with Pep, Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, etc. years ago.

PSG is a club with rich owners so I am sure they done really care if mbappe leaves on free or now, they made a gamble to bring him to the club hoping he can help them win the champions league but the gamble didn’t go their way so I can’t really say mbappe was a failed project, they bought all the players in the clubs to achieve a common goal so I don’t think one player should take the blame if their wish didn’t come through. I belive all these talks about Mbappe being in Real Madrid next season really got to them. He is either the best player or at least one of the best in the club, I could even say he could be the best, and when your best player is not even considering to stay, and he is talking with other teams, then you usually do not really have anything else to say.

I am not saying that we should avoid all of it and focus on just playing for the time being, because players can't really do that. How would you feel if your teammate agreed to join another club and you have only a few months to play with them? They will play like maybe 4 more months together and then he will be gone. This could be dropping the chemistry in the team, players may let this get to their heads and this could be causing the other players to not even want to play with him too much.
