Champions league often set a winner from the underestimated teams as yeah there is a lot of champions in this competition and it's hard to choose which one is the real winner ... as sometimes a slow start such as having bad season in league , get not so impressive group stage matches etc doesnt mean they wont win in a big match like psg vs real madrid , it could be the opposite.

I expect a lot of surprise in this champions league edition , chelsea to win it back to back for instance Grin

As for the teams, they will play the first match in suboptimal lineups and suboptimal form. For one of the teams, this will be fatal - as one team will go further, and the second, which also planned the peak of form for the later stages of the Champions League, will leave the tournament.

I read somewhere that Messi is not yet fully ready due to health problems, that he is unhappy in Paris, has no friends, doesn't know the language, that he uses every opportunity to visit Barcelona etc.
It seems to me that Real is a more complete team than PSG and has a better chance of winning.
PSG have too many stars in the team, Messi, Neymar and Mbappe, who think they are bigger than the team, don't like to help teams in defense etc.
Against weaker teams this is not a problem but against top teams like Manchester City or Real, it is a serious problem in the game.

After spending your whole life in one place and relocating to is different place it wouldn’t be easy to adapt and I am sure that is an hindrance for Messi right now, he hasn’t played for any club other than Barcelona. L. Messi hasn’t been used to the culture, food, language and living in France yet. But I believe Messi is a Barcelona player and he shouldn’t have left. With all the star players in PSG I still don’t believe they can win against Real Madrid. Real Madrid is a far better team to me, they can spread the ball to each teammate better. Real beating PSG wouldn’t be an easy task at all.

We didnt see much of the domination of england clubs before. Mostly spanish teams Barcelona,Real Madrid and Atletico madrid from spanish club and Juventus and Bayern Munich from other countries were always at the top of the champions league. But lately its just an england show in the finals of the champions league. England football is now far the best tournament by far. I dont see things that will change this year aswell maybe if Bayern Munich tries to win it.

Lionel Messi still has that world class magic we all love to watch. He’s having a difficult season in PSG I can think of a zillion excuses to make for him....language change, weather tbh Messi spent so much time in Barcelona it will take a longer time to get used to a different style of play. The younger players want to make a name for themselves also, it isn’t like Barcelona where the team gave their all to Messi

PSG need Neymar and Ramos to win. The pair of Neymar and Messi have played great against Real Madrid in the past. Now the trio of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe will become more aggressive against Real Madrid. However, Ramos is needed to stop Real Madrid's young star Vinicius. We all know PSG's defense is not very strong. So Ramos must play well in this match. The coach has to come up with new strategies. Playing with the same tactics will make it harder to win against an experienced team like Real Madrid.

Hm, quality is also a difficult measure sometimes. Benfica - Ajax seems to be one of the nice matchups. Maybe this will not be seen as one of the most remarkable matchups but I'm still going to follow it too. Ajax are my favourite for this matchup. They had a wonderful group stage and won all of their matches. Benfica were in a troubling condition as they barely advanced to this round thanks to Barcelona. I don't think that Benfica are playing a game that is enough to beat a very powerful team like Ajax. I see a big potential in Ajax players for this season and they would reach the quarter finals also.

if you look at their current performance I still feel that the current atletico is not the same as they were in the previous season.
their attackers are still not sharp and seem to lose their productivity in scoring goals.
Against United I still feel it will be tough and indeed let's not forget the curse of athletico against Ronaldo I still feel it will affect athletico now.
I don't think they will win in this round against Manchester United. Even though Manchester United's performance still tends to be monotonous, I feel they are better than Atletico

It certainly is. Every team is great. PSG, Real Madrid, Manchester City are the three biggest candidates. Every team has the potential to become a champion.
