Great comeback from Manchester United! Although they lost 2-0 in the first half, they managed to win 3-2 with a great game in the second half. Ronaldo scored again. Manchester United became the Leader of the group with this win. Not many people could have predicted this comeback when the first half was over. They faced the shock of defeat in the match where he entered the halftime comfortably in Atalanta.
Bayern scored its first goal pretty late in the 70th minute, but from that point on Benfica was done and Bayern managed to score 3 more goals within 20 minutes. Pretty impressive.
The bayern side is a great mix of superb players that can deliver goals at any minute and a brilliant coach. Leroy Sane is on a fire form for Bayern and has goals to show for it, Lewandoski deserves commendation for his consistency in front of goal since he joined the team.
Its been a cruise for bayern through the group stages, maintaining a clean sheet from all 3 games played. I look forward to watching them play against tougher opponents that can match their style of play as they progress further into the champions league. A team like Liverpool or Chelsea. It will definitely be an exciting display.
Honestly I bet Bayern Munich to win, but after a while I checked the livescore it was still 0-0. The new goal came in the 70th minute which in fact still doesn't calm me down, because I think a result like this would really be a surprise because of how Benfica could hold it in that time. But the fact still surprises me, because in the end Bayern Munich won 4-0 and it was a quick goal at the end of the game, Bayern Munich was really amazing this season I'm sure Bayern Munich will get to the final maybe against one one team from England.

A result that does not reflect what happened on the field, as Benfica managed to hold up the Bavarians very well, only conceding the first goal in the 70th minute, and throughout the game until they managed to have two or three scoring opportunities. But Bayern München once again demonstrated why they are the best teams in the world.
The end result of 4-0 for bayern really leaves the impression that Bayern completely dominated this match and that Benfica did not stand a chance. If you watched the game though, then it looked kinda different as Benfica played very well in my opinion i would even say they were the better Team towards the end of the first half. It was indeed a great comeback from two goals down, Ole Solskjaer will have a big sign of relief after being under intense pressure for poor results by Man Utd in the past couple of matches, it could have worsen had Atalanta won the match, Man Utd didn't play well in the first half but improved in the second half, both team tried to win the match today but Man Utd eventually carried the day courtesy of a beautiful header by Ronaldo who was the match winner

Luckily in the second half, the Man United players could have played better. Well even though it's not optimal, but at least they can take advantage of the chance to win.
I don’t know how Solskjaer did it because we were finally going to let him go, but now he’s got another lifeline to hang onto. Lastly if he doesn’t win the upcoming premier league games, then I hope that glazers will take the bold call to sack him but till then he can enjoy this champions league win.

Am a United fan and I thought two goals down in Champions League football means game over but it seems Rashford scored the first manu goal which inspired the comeback and the rest is history...that performance did just keep the teams Champions League aspirations alive but the coach's job too because of late his really not getting the results. Bravo boys!!

Don't be satisfied, I know how MU plays Ole era. Same as before nothing special, as we can see in the first half, that is the real MU. If MU performance well they should make it draw on the first half. but they can't do it because they don't get the instruction to change the scheme straight away. It wasnt anything close to being good though and in fact it was a close one. If it wasnt because of the home game advantage then I doubt that Manchester United would be able to score 3 goals in the 2nd half after being conceded 2 goals in the first half. At the first place, how is it even possible for Atalanta to score 2 goals? That just prove that they were so bad in the first half
Im kinda glad that Manchester United win though, that 3 points will help in securing the spot for the play off

I agree with you in part on the coach (Ole) because he's not that bad , and if the management could give him a little more time, spend on quality players to support Ronaldo rather than on a new coach, the old days could be back in no time. Don't forget Ole was scoring goals left right center like Ronaldo in his hay days and you shouldn't automatically render him tactically inept just because he's no longer playing. From Sir Alex, i believe he's the only United Coach who has brought about stability and understands the Team's culture. Lets help him succeed.
I think Sir Alex Ferguson also tremendously benefited from his presence and authority. You remember the story where Ferguson threw a shoe into Beckham's face? That is just insane, but somehow the players still didn't up against him. It is because must have respected him regardless. Ferguson definitely wasn't a strategic mastermind, but he for sure had something that other coaches didn't. It's hard for guys like Lampard or Solskjaer to compete with coaches who wrote history for their clubs. It doesn't happen all that often.

So many close matches to talk about but the highlight is definitely CR7's goal to complete the comeback. They also lead their own group after that thriller. Great job to the younger lads Rashford and Maguire too.
It's really a come back to talk about and indeed stole the highlight from other games looking at the fact that, they were 2 goals down from the first half and managed not just an equaliser but netting all 3 goals to secure a 3 point in the second half without any reply from the Italian side in a UCL game. It's not what you see everyday in football and the UCL at that to crown it all. Best still was CR7 coming to show his worth as a top player and giving Manchester United that important goal when it mattered the most. It was impressive his been thus far.Quote
Finally, Barcelona gets to win a game. Its so ridiculous of them but then, they broke the yolk!
I thought this would be the highlight of the week but it was also overshadowed by the MU win.It came late but it's still a good win for them. It's hard to think Barca win less in a CL group stage.
But it proved that Manchester United's players can change in the second half and score 3 goals for a very tragic win and of course Ole can manage this tactic.
Harry Maguire's goal in the UCL was also a great sign he's staying focused again, after a lot of jeers during the game with Crystal Palace who made a lot of mistakes.

I'd like to admit that I loved how Man Utd came back in the game after going 2 goals down earlier in the first half. It was truly an electrifying second half and Atalanta tried so hard to cope but fell short along the way and conceded defeat. Anyway, I'd love to see Man Utd keep up similar performances up like this one in the Premier league since their performance so far in the PL has been lacklustre. Good way to bounce back after the weekend defeat.
