Ok let's start having fun again with the forthcoming Champions League Round of 16. Liverpool is getting better and better lately and I think they will win the first game away with Leipzig.

This will be one of the delightful draws in this round. Both sides have played strong in the Champions League games. But I think it is obvious that Liverpool are the absolute favorite team in the draw. Besides, Leipzig have a very big disadvantage. Because the first game isn't going to be in their home stadium. It is going to be played in a neutral location. The second game is going to be in Liverpool's home stadium. Hence, I think Liverpool can defeat them in both games and advance to the Quarter Final.

Barcelona PSG is a big match really, Barça is struggling a bit while PSG is doing great lately: I see a draw between the two.
Porto Juventus will see the guys from Turin prevaling in what will be anyway a tough game. My last pick is Atlético Madrid Chelse where the Colchoneros will smash the Londoners.

I'd also agree with the opinion that Chelsea is a strong outsider in this year's CL. They do have good players and Tuchel is a good coach but they have huge problems in defence and they haven't clicked as a team yet.

Odds of 20/1 on any decent team that has reached the knockouts can be a smart bet and in this season there are more surprises than usual, but I'd still consider it as money wasted. I think they won't pass the 1st round, Atletico with Suarez looks really good.

one cannot rule out Chelsea winning the champions league, because of Tuchel experience and the quality of players he has at his disposal. However it’s been just few days since he’s arrived, so let’s not get carried away so soon, and give him some more time to make an impact an Chelsea.
I don't know man, chelsea? I mean yeah we shouldn't really leave any team out and I think they definitely are a champions league top team looking at all the previous years and all but do you really think they have a chance? Maybe a fighters chance to get in but I think it is obvious that other teams are much better.

PSG, Barcelona, Liverpool, Leipzig, Dortmund, Juventus, Bayern, Lazio, Real Madrid, Man City all these teams look like either equal or better if you ask me. Obviously it is football and anything could happen but I think there is even a chance that ATM could beat Chelsea straight up. ATM is leading la liga right now easily, and with a ton of points, which is why I think it wouldn't be that shocking if they just beat Chelsea and send them home, after all we all know ATM as a good team as well and on top of that they are even better than usual this year.

^  No comparison imho.  And it wasn’t about the manager.  That 2011/12 squad was somewhat special.  They had John Terry and Lampard at the heart of the squad with Drogba being sidelined by AVB but still in there trying to prove that he’s still the top guy.  Which he did.  Fernando Torres scored the goal that made them win on aggregate against Barca at the semis.

...  Lots of other heros in that squad which I couldn’t name.  But it was the most memorable CL season for me.

Edit:  Chelsea’s line to win the CL is at 18.12 at FJ.
odds should be much higher, bruh. no chance for chelski whatsoever

you're seriously not thinking they can pull another Di Matteo and somehow win the CL with a recently appointed manager, right?  Grin at least the italian had been in the club for like a year or so prior to becoming a caretaker manager, Tuchel prolly still needs someone to tell him where the bathroom is in the locker room 🤣

Does anybody else think Chelsea has a much bigger chance to win the CL than what the odds are showing?  I think they’re something like 20 odds to win.  They def have the players to do it and with Tuchel taking over I think their chances are much higher.

Leipzig (GER) - Liverpool (ENG)
~snip~
I heard news that the first leg will be held at a neutral venue. The reason is, the German government has banned flights from Britain. The problem is, Covid-19 cases continue to increase in the UK. This rule is valid until 17 February. But there is an option if the first leg is played at Liverpol after that only in Leipzig. But if this happens, I think Liverpol will be at a disadvantage because it has to score as many goals as possible to keep the chances of qualifying. But history says that Liverpool have won a lot against clubs from Germany.

I think it doesn't matter if the first leg is sometimes Liverpool but the most important thing is not in a different place then it will be at a disadvantage from one of them, although history records that if Liverpool win a lot with the German club it is possible that this season will turn around we don't. anyone knows match predictions that are clearly correct, you say Liverpool have to score a lot of goals to keep at home to Leipzig later.

You're right. At this point in time, it is still completely unclear whether the match can take place in Leipzig on February 16.

UEFA has requested RB Leipzig to inform them by February 8 whether the match can take place on the announced date. If Leipzig does not comply with this request and no alternative venue can be found, the match may be rated 0:3 for Liverpool FC. RB Leipzig is now obliged to find a new venue or seek an exemption from the German government for the match.

I'm not sure how this one will turn out, but I think RB Leipzig will do everything they can to avoid a possible 0-3 defeat.

If the match took place 1 or 2 months ago I will say PSG will win for sure. It is true that Barca recent awakening will make that more difficult to predict but PSG remains slightly better. The experience part and the participation of Messi are indeed important points but without spectators, the performance of players that day will indicate who will win. May the best (PSG) win Wink
There is no problem in my opinion that these teams are without supporters at the stadium because this season they have looked normal without supporters since the season started.

Barcelona vs PSG, these two teams are good but I firmly believe that Barcelona is much better than PSG. Barcelona have done quite well so far at UCL and also in LaLiga, this will be an important point when playing against PSG. One of these two teams will go to the next round and I hope that is Barcelona.

Messi alone can't do everything alone. It's a team sport and if we see team-wise then PSG has an edge over Barcelona.

like all champions he obviously needs a support team
otherwise he could play alone against a whole team and obviously this is not possible

but in certain contexts quality can make the difference, that's why you buy samples (in addition to making a show)

Champions league is all about experience that alone gives Barcelona and edge over PSG we all know what Messi can do whenever there are doubts; besides Barcelona are getting to fine form of recent

I think looks become true with your prediction because looking how touch by Pochettino as PSG new coach right now and make many goal each match become easy for PSG win from Barcelona, exactly financial trouble happening on Barcelona will make condition not so good for Barcelona in this season, I think Barcelona need new investor how to manage financial with always bad where buy player with higher price and should sell with lower price.

Not always the personal qualities of players can be useful. Especially if the players lack chemistry.  Barcelona has it. But it seems to me that at this stage PSG will still be stronger and they obviously deserve to win more. Besides, PSG have been going to win the Champions League for several years
I agree with you mate. PSG is still stronger than Barcelona. PSG's defense, midfield, and forward lineup are quite stable.
