I feel like Man City always gets easy groups, wtf? the one this year is europa league tier  Grin tough group for Man Utd. Group E is laughable. Atalanta vs Liverpool will be Over 7.5 goals in each game LOL And Cristiano vs Messi again!

Great draw for Ajax. Liverpool is always great to play against. Become number two in this pool is doable.

I wonder how they price this kind of new edition soccer ball in the market. How much will it cost at its new launched? or this ball is just exclusive for the UEFA Champions League? They could make it limited edition though the price is not that cheap. My guess is, this ball is only exclusive in the UEFA Champions League and no one can own it before the end of the UEFA Champions League.

Quick search in german gave me this: 136€. Shipping time: 1-2 days

Pot 2 is especially strong this season. It is stronger than the 1st pot again - it has been for a while which is so stupid to see.

I'm looking forward to the draw today, as a Liverpool fan there's really nothing to be worried about. I'm confident we'll go through no matter who we get.

Draw starts at 17:00 CET, well the programme with all the nonsense starts at that time. They always make a big ceremony, handing out awards for last season. I’m looking forward to the actual draw though.

I am surprised that nobody has written anything about the new ball yet. After all it is the main tool.  Grin
Adidas has presented his ball for the upcoming group stage. Of course the well-known stars should not be missing. I like the imprinting which gives it a depth.

What a nice design and unique style brought to us by Adidas company. I wonder how they price this kind of new edition soccer ball in the market. everyone will also be very enthusiastic about barcelona if I read the plans like this they want to get a lot of young players in the team but yes you have to be able to buy them somewhere and since they have thrown so much money in recent years they cannot this time just buy what they want, but if koeman gets this team to work, they are basically just the top 3 in the world

Atletico don’t play an expansive game of football. They defend, defend, defend! The winner of the CL is usually a progressive, attacking team. I don’t think Atleti will come even close to being champion of Europe.

Much as I agree, CL once you get to past the group stages, is really a coinflip at some stage. Especially if it does become a KO round like during coronavirus, it explains how they beat Liverpool and how Lyon (who finished 7th in league) actually got to the semifinals.

Defending is a strategy yes, but Atletico are wasting their talent playing like this. Won't deny it has its virtues though.

@slaman29 you’re absolutely correct as Atletico has some talented player’s who should be attacking other teams constantly, but their current philosophy is to win games by defending, and that doesn’t really work well in champions league as we saw last season. Furthermore I feel that they’ll improve a lot when they let go of their current manager who I feel has nothing really more to offer to them, anyone else agrees with me that they need to cut Simeone loose?.

In a match between a mid tier team and a big team either club or Nation, it's always common that, you hope for a surprise from the mid tier team. You'll always want the mid tier team to win, if possible, humiliate the big team.
That's if you haven't placed your bet on it though, lol.

Not really. Only if you're the neutral or supporting the opposing club;) Then again come world cup, I see most neutrals supporting the big teams or the ones they think plays the most attractive football and that's generally, the bigger team.

Betting? When the gulf is too big, the betting's only worth it on the underdog;)

Anyway, can't wait for the draw. I got my Liverpool 7/1 odds bet waiting. Same as last season. I want them to go for the double this season!

I really like the Spanish style of play, very much devoted to the show!
I hope that Atletico Madrid do well and that Barcelona recover some light of past. I love so much the show and Smiley i hope to see in next champions.

Football seems to go in cycles, Spanish teams dominated Europe for a number of years. They’re not as strong now, I think Bayern & Liverpool, possibly PSG are the teams to look out for in the CL for the next couple of seasons.

They are hands down most boring team to watch park the bus play but I hope Suarez signing will change that at least a bit.
Yaps, Suarez will make a difference to Atletico Madrid's attacking pattern. As one of Laliga's great team, Atletico Madrid can always be seeded over other teams but they have a style of play that doesn't reflect that they are a big team. They have good defensive skill and are often a bit boring, they play carefully and rely on counter attack. I don't think they'll win the Champion League, but they can still be counted as candidate.

What is going on today ? Slavia praga has almost 3 odd to win tonight and for me this looks like even a bait odd or a free winning odd but I don't know which one yet haha. PAOK might have a hard game today as Krasnodar has a bigger experience into UEFA games so this might be a winning factor for them.
So, Slavia lost game 4:1. But I don't think that final score reflects game very well. 2 lasts goals were scored on last minutes when Slavia tried to equalize score.
PAOK lost to Krasnodar with same score as in 1st game. Didn't watched whole game but seems that Krasnodar deserved to reach group stage.
Tomorrow is big day when groups will be drawn.

I am excited about the draw. Wondering who will be the opponents of my club Ajax. Let's hope there will be some nice matches for them.

I don't expect them to get that far this time but #2 should be possible.

Krasnodar showed a good and confident game and I lost together with PAOK... Grin
But I am still happy that another Russian club will play in the Champions League! Especially since this is the first time Krasnodar will play in the league!

Yeah I was questioning that a lot before too, and I think there isn't a single person in this forum who is on City's side here (in fact hmm, I can't even recall a single City supporter in the forum haha).

I do think the money in football needs to be stemmed. And maybe Covid will force it to change... but it's not all bad. The romances are getting rarer, but oh, so much sweeter.
It needs to be regulated for sure. Financial fair play is a joke and everybody knows it, just check the "exchange" of players between Barca and Juve or the fine City got instead of CL disqualification. I don't like Mourinho an d his media outbursts in general but he had a great comment on that fine. I will now paraphrase it since I don't feel like looking for a exact quote. He said something on line that "City fine is a disgrace. Either you are guilty and disqualified or you are not guilty and you should not pay any fine." I agree with that 100%. This way it just shows that it is all about money.

Yeah I was questioning that a lot before too, and I think there isn't a single person in this forum who is on City's side here (in fact hmm, I can't even recall a single City supporter in the forum haha).

You're guilty or you're not, I absolutely agree. You got fined, and still have the gall to say you proved your innocence. Money is king in football, very unfortunate. Blame the plastic fans too though, egging their clubs on social media to go and sign some star. Imagine, United fans angry for not spending (and they spent!). Or #wengerout because he won't splash.

And even some Liverpool fans questioning why no big spends before they found out about Jota or Thiago. Minamino and Kostas too cheap to turn heads. Youngsters from academy not glamourous enough.
