Dinamo from Croatia lost in Hungary and continues to compete in the EL.
Another bad game of a club that was very close last season to pass the group stage of the CL and after the departure of the best Olmo and the coach again become an average club.

yeah, Dinamo is out, and Crvena Zvezda Belgrade as well, they both had good competitors and away matches, so did not go through
i would not say that these clubs are now average, maybe Europa League is better matches for their quality, and they could pass group stage and make something this spring

nevertheless, think that both teams are out due to one-game kick-off stage that took place for Champion leagues qualifier, and that home ground, although without audience, is a good advantage for home teams in international matches on this competition level, one should bear that in mind in betting on this

congrats to Ferencvaros and Omonia

Ferencvaros in Champions League group stages?I think it is the first time for such team to reach this phase.I know they have a lot of history as a club in Hungary but I think Dinamo and Crvena Zvedzia have a whole lot more bigger history and name than Ferencvaros.Anyway congratulations to them and in a single game different events in a game may decide the outcome.

Aha I see now it was just the semi final qualifiers but still they Ferencvaros have already secured a ticket to at least Europa League groups.

Last three years was the last season for Atletico Madrid to qualify for the Champions League final, but in the final they had to be defeated by their city team Real Madrid. I think Simione always gets really bad results against Real Madrid in the Champions League, before last Final simione have got lost from Real  Madrid with score 4 - 1 and keep continue to get bad result after lost again in Final, Ronaldo become bad think for simione and this season will give stronger for Simione to show how their team will talk more in UEFA champion league.
I agree with you. It was the closest they got and would get for a long time. They got really close back then but, it wasn't their fault as they were playing with one of the best team with Ronaldo and Zidane have their eyes primarily set on the league title.

I think Simeone has taken them as far as he can. Their negative style doesn’t give them a good chance of winning the big trophies. An attacking team usually wins the CL & their domestic league.

The last time they won La Liga was 2013/14 season & they have 0 CL titles. They also do spend big on players, Joao Felix was £113,000,000 & Morata was £58,000,000 but = 0 trophies.

I agree, i think real madrid and ronaldo broke simeone at UCL. although their recent performance in UCL is quite bad but Simeone has taken them far, now they are a UCL regular and one of top clubs right now. Their attack is the problem right now, costa is declining and i don't think morata is dependable as the main striker. If they can sort their attack then they will have a chance at the league this season.

Any thoughts about qualifiers games on Tuesday and Wednesday? <...>
i'm backing Benfica today

My pick:

The Eagles brought Jorge Jesus back into the team, they spent a lot of cash in transfers (keep an eye on Everton, good player) and overall they are the better team, kinda hard for me to ignore those odds
edit*  i hope Porto win the portuguese league title this season (:

I was just thinking the same about Porto (not a huge follower but still) as they did a reasonably shitty season last year and you always wonder when the blip stops for teams like these. Barca is in a blip and for me I personally expect them to bounce back this very season so I will be looking for good value bets on Porto and Barca in Europe.

Sorry about Benfica...

I've no idea how to bet on tonight's games so I'll pass...

Because Benfice lost Ajax will be in the second pot.  Grin Let's hope for a new stunt this season.

I agree with you.
The best example is probably Atletico Madrid.
They don't have super players like Real or Barcelona but they have a system and their philosophy that they follow for years and that's why they are always on top and have results.

UEFA League champions is the highest level of football competition in the world. I am not surprised if it is very difficult for a club like Atletico Madrid to win it. I think they have done the best, but to win it they may need luck factors or start to build the team with more top players. Regarding the current quality players on Atletico, I doubt if they will win UEFA League champions next season, mate. Sorry!!

You do not have to apologize for anything, here we analyze the various options rationally!
also i was aware that atalanta could never win (i was hoping because crazy things happen, like greece that wins the european)

it is a very tough competition that brings a lot of money, therefore coveted

I think that this season they will definitely win La Liga!
What is the reason? a dark horse?  Cheesy
I don't think any other clubs can compete with Barca and Real today. The gap of quality players is still too big. I don't say that the winning only determines by quality players, but we know well that both Barca and Real really dominate la Liga in any sector. Well, it is not impossible for a surprise but I doubt it as I think Barca and Real have prepared anything to win it next season.

Why don't they really become UEFA League champions next season! Wink

Any thoughts about qualifiers games on Tuesday and Wednesday? Dynamo - AZ game looks tricky, so I will skip it. Genk is playing so shitty in Belgian league, so I think it's good opportunity to make some money betting on Rapid. If there would be fans in stadium, I would have doubts about PAOK - Benfica game, but now I'm going with Benfica.
I'm already looking to Wednesday - I see nice odds for Crvena Zvezda win over Omonia.

For the Spanish League I think the domination remains with Madrid and Barca, but it is not impossible that there will be surprises. For UCL, they have experienced two finals in 2014 and 2016 but lost and won second place. They have since made it to the knockout stages at UCL. I don't know how this season has been, but I think it will be difficult to win the UCL. Many other big clubs have many star players and spend large sums of money to buy players.

It is very likely that the European Champions League will still be controlled by teams from primer league, Serie A and La Liga. Less chance for Bundesliga and Ligue one team will take more on champion league in this season, Although last year Bayern Munchen become the champion I think this year will be different and Real Madrid will talk more to be champion and collect their trophy, for Barcelona have manage by new coach will have big chance how to get champion after lest away some their player like Luis Suarez and Ivan Rakitic. We are exciting who take good chance and become the winner in champion leaugue?

Would you like to elaborate why you think Bayern and PSG are in a weaker spot than last season? It's not that Bayern has lost key players on the transfer market this summer. No, they even managed to strengthen their offense with the signing of Sane. The only reason why that could be is that maybe the Bayern players are "satisfied" because they won everything already. But I doubt that Flick will have problems to motivate Kimmich, Müller, Lewandowski and Co.

Do not forget the French in the shape of PSG and Lyon and the Germans! Yes the French champions have lost their opening 2 games (but that is Coronavirus problem you see) but Lyon and Leipzig gave incredible semi performances and Bayern did not lose a single game in the whole tournament, so never discount them my friend!

When you groom and discover the best talents and then end up selling them off to your direct opponents then you have no ambitions in winning a lot of silverware. Atlético Madrid has been repeating the very mistakes the likes of Ajax, Monaco, Arsenal used to do in the past and Just like last season, this one too will be one long sad trophyless one for them.

they are predictions based on the performances of the previous championship, but take into account other variables, such as player purchase, but man city is always favored to the final victory, but then bad luck runs against them
Why do you blame "bad luck"? I don't think it is only about "luck", but it is about the mentality. Once you are playing at the top level and against the teams from different leagues, what you need first is a strong mentality. You can see some clubs which have fewer top players but they can defeat bigger clubs. Why? It is because they play with a strong mentality and nothing to lose. They play with no pressure, so they can do their best. While a club like Man. City, even they have many top players, they sometimes cannot play with their best because they play with pressure.

I agree with what you say, unfortunately in the game of football the rule of the winning mentality does not always apply, of course having the awareness of being strong and playing to win gives you a higher percentage of success, but unfortunately the ball is round and not always who it is stronger wins! so luck or bad luck in the game has 50% relevance

I think so

If you are so sure about Atletico winning La Liga, you should place a bet (@9.00) on them. I doubt that they will have something to do with the title in La Liga but anyway. In the Champions League I wouldn't even count them to the (bigger) favourites. Teams like City, Liverpool, Bayern, Real, PSG or Juve are way ahead of them imho. I see them on a par with Dortmund, Man United, Inter etc. (Chelsea and Barca are hard to judge).

Thank you for your advice, but it's still very risky to bet on such a long period of time... It's just that in that championship,  Real and Barca look not very serious rivals for Atletico!

As for UEFA Liague, here I will certainly agree... I just personally like the style of Atletico, and I would like to see them in the final!
