I was shocked to have seen Saka step up for the shootout. Naturally, I had predicted persons like Harry kane, Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford, L. Shaw and someonther person, an older player to be the once taking the shoots but to my amazement, a lot of young stars, over rated players where the once stepping up. Worst of all was, letting Saka take the final shoot. Such an important shoot for such a young player. I don't just get what was the plan or what was G. Southgate was thinking, gambling it perhaps and I guess his gamble didn't work. That's to say, they never meant business like Italy did and that's why, they had to win.
It was for me as well a surprise that Southgate chooses Saka for taking the last penalty. Too much pressure for the youngster and IMO, without any reason. There are other players that can take it, I couldn't agree more with you.
England has the upper hand in the first half but they failed to score another goal. The second half shows the mentality of Italy, a team with the metal and the spirit of a winner. Score the goal that they wanted, keep the pressure in the extra time and Donarumma makes two "easy" for his class saves and send the trophy to Rome.
Big congrats to Italy, they truly deserve it, and not to mention that they are still undefeated.

P.S: Jorginho's penalty was a total disappointment...
