It was such a crazy match that Turkey's meeting against the Czechs had to end in chaos between the players which made the referee have to issue so many cards. I know the Czechs' desire is to beat Turkey to secure the best third place after only collecting one point from the previous two matches. But I think Turkey won't let that happen and therefore they have to win convincingly if they want to qualify for the knockout rounds without any problems.

Towards the final minute, Turkey dashed Czech hopes through Cenk Tosun's goal and that was also a sign that the Czechs didn't have another chance. However, I thought it would all end well, but what happened was that all the players were involved in problems and the ones who suffered the most were of course several Turkish players who had to get yellow cards. The reason is that if they get another yellow card in the next match, of course some of their players will have to be absent and that will reduce their strength.
Well, A. Barak became the main problem for Czech after getting his second yellow card for a serious foul. Without a doubt, the referee's decision to award him a red card was detrimental to Czech's gameplay. If I were Czech's coach, I would switch him out for a player on the bench.
Barrak lost control of his emotions after getting his first yellow card, which caused the Czechs to lose that game. Czech still made it hard for the Turkiye to score, though they had 10 players. For the last, I thought that Turkey vs Czech Republic was the most exciting game to watch.
The game between Czech and Turkey is a game where refree is very busy and shows almost 12+ cards including 2 reds lots of harsh tackles and many shoulders pushes are done in this game from both sides and as a watcher on television you might think it's, not a euro cup match its a local teams match where everyone is fighting on little things.

Yesterday, Turkey secured a 2-1 victory against the Czech Republic in the final Group F match, advancing to the last 16. The Czech Republic bid farewell to the tournament with this result. Notably, the referee in the Turkey-Czech Republic match set a tournament record by issuing 16 yellow cards and 2 red cards. At one point, I even wondered if he would start showing cards to the fans and TV viewers.

What happened to Portugal today because I didn't watch the match. I was watching the Türkiye - Czech Republic match. It was a very exciting and tiring match. Even though Czech Republic was down to 10 players, we could not play a comfortable game in the early minutes.

Hakan Çalhanoğlu scored a goal and relieved us, the captain. Even though there were only ten men, the Czech Republic fought well and were even able to score the equalizing goal. Cenk Tosun scored the winning goal in the first match he played in. He is a good finisher and I don't understand why he didn't play until now.
What Portugal did in the last match against Georgia was not good at all.  Portugal lost 2-0 against this team in the last match. It was an easy match for Portugal before they played against Georgia but they made this easy match very difficult. Not a very good performance was seen from Portugal throughout the match. Portugal fell behind at the very beginning of this match from which they could not come back. Kvaratskhelia scored a goal just two minutes into the match to give the team the lead, and Mikautadze later sealed the victory with a goal at Tribeker in the 57th minute. Euro competitions are always tough but if Portugal perform so badly in the first round then how they can perform in the next round is a big question.

Georgia was a big surprise to me but I just like the twist because it added more fun to the competition.  Even though group stages just concluded, it will not be wrong to say that this is the most fascinating and interesting Euro tournament I have seen. First time in the history of Euro that you cannot be sure of winning until the final whistle.

I expect more intrigues as the knockout stages begin and the first major match that will defy every tactics of prediction is France against Belgium. Both teams are among those expected to win the trophy so there meeting will be a big clash.
LOL.. Belgium vs France match is going to be really exciting. Belgium struggled a lot in Group E, and they won just one match (against Romania). while France fared better (although they conceded draws against Netherlands and Poland in Group E). Another match I would be quite interested in will be Switzerland vs Italy. At least on paper, Italy is stronger. But at the same time, they did poorly in Group B. Switzerland on the other hand did well to hold Germany to a draw in their last group stage match.
There is no doubt we have some surprises in Euro 2024 with Belgium and France both were not good because we have just 2 goals each from both sides in three games and 4 and 5 points which are giving all about their performance but in coming match I have feeling most chances we will have France at his best because things are indicating now they will bounce back from this terrible performance and things will be favourable for them.

About other match I have to be agreed about this Italy is stronger side, but Switzerland is doing good, and they will be no easy task for the Italians even here I have to say both are having chance of qualifying into next round because both can do good and this is wide open game for the both teams.

Football is sweet football is interesting and unpredictable. I think it’s the best sport out there. And kvara scored against his idol and one time benefactor ( Heard he was in the academy Ronaldo opened at Georgia) what a story.
Switzerland is another team to watch out for very cohesive and tactical. They might upset the knockout stages

Georgia's victory over Portugal was very surprising. They were under tremendous pressure from Portugal, they didn't have much control of the ball but they managed to win against Portugal and take them to the round of 16.
their opponents will be more difficult, and Spain will not be easy to deal with. They have a more aggressive attack line than Portugal. Spain will certainly be the favorite. but Spain may also be troubled by the strong, disciplined defense of the Georgian players.

Currently the phase round of Euro 2024 have been over but interested looking the candidate potential become top scorer, right now the top scored standings awhile by Georgia's striker Georges Mikautadze after success scoring three goals.
Georges Mikautadze success scoring goals on every group phase matches against Turkey, Czech Republic and last match against Portugal.

But his potential become candidate Euro 2024 top scorer looks bit difficult after 16 round drawing have to face favorite team Spain, I doubt with his potential continues scoring goals every match in Euro 2024 when facing Spain although 2 of 3 goals scoring awhile from penalty kick.
Other candidate to be top scorer seems Jamal Musiala scoring two goals awhile and Germany will face Denmark on knock out round.

Top scorer of Euro 2024 standings awhile

Feeling quite disappointed because most of the teams for whom I was cheering for are already out of the tournament. Croatia and Hungary couldn't make the cut among the best placed teams at 3rd position in each group. And before that, Scotland and Serbia ended at the bottom of Group A and Group C respectively. Czech Republic met with the same fate in Group F. Still I am glad that Georgia made the cut, despite the fact that they were being placed in an extremely tough group along with Portugal and Turkey.

After a goalless first half against the Czech Republic, the second half was very exciting. After we scored the first goal, we had an unfortunate
We saw a goal. The Czech Republic being down to 10 men was important for us and helped us to win the match. With Cenk Tosun's goal in the last minutes, we managed to beat our opponent and come 2nd from the group. I wish it would have been a different result because it was a day when Georgia also beat Portugal and we could have come out of the group as the leader maybe in the last minutes.
You guys are lucky, and that is what makes the game interesting to see that at the last minutes of the game when there is no longer hope of winning, the opportunity will come and taking good advantage of it is the best thing to do. The last goal by Tosun made the difference and qualified you guys to the next round.

Today Italy will be playing Switzerland and I hope that Italy will be able win this match otherwise it will be a problem for them to qualify to the round of 16. I do not know who to stake my bet on because from the performance of Italy in their last match, I cannot have confidence in them.

Switzerland came out of the preliminary round unbeaten, while Italy experienced one loss, one draw and one win. This match will be difficult for Italy because Switzerland played very well at the Euro this time, it is difficult to hope that Italy can survive at the Euro with the quality of play shown in the group stage. Italy must improve the quality of its game if it wants to overcome the challenge presented by Switzerland. The match in the round of 16 will be more exciting because each team really needs a win to qualify for the next round. Luciano Spalletti must develop Italy game and increase his sharpness up front to put pressure on Switzerland.
Looking at goal productivity, Switzerland is better than Italy, because they scored 3 goals and only conceded 2 goals, while Italy managed to score 3 goals and conceded 3 goals. Even though that is a very close difference, in a short tournament like this I think it is very influential, in contrast to the League which is held regularly throughout the year.
I agree with you that Italy must be able to attack better, but they also shouldn't forget about defense, because there they also think they still look lacking. Their opponents are dangerous Swiss, so once they make a mistake the Swiss will punish them.
I think this match will be interesting in this knockout round, they have opportunities that are not much different in my opinion.

I disagree with your first part because the foul Barak commited that led to the red card was on the midfield line. It had nothing to do with desperation. He was fully focused on the ball with his eyes and didn't have bad intent, but his ill-considered timing made him step onto the foot of the Turkish player and hence the second yellow card was justified.

You may say he was more intent on clearing the ball than he was malicious in causing the foul but you know, if they hadn't let their defense be open, I don't think the Turkish player would have found his way there.

Another thing is, I feel if Barak hadn't stopped the guy's movement, it would have proven deadly because you will have to agree that the Turkish players are not only fast, but cunning as well. Before you know it, they are in your eighteen yard box.
Admittedly, the both sides played fine football and it was very interesting to watch; no dull moments, each giving as good as they got but in the end, that red card was really what set the game off course for Czech.

Georgia caused the biggest surprise yesterday by defeating Portugal 2-0 in the final match of Group F.
Having already secured the top spot in the group, Portugal will face Slovenia, while Georgia will take on Spain in the Round of 16.
I ahve seen the review of that game between Georgia vs Portugal and Georgia deserved that win for sure.
They are not playing bad and other small countries was also playing good , they catching up to the bigger ones.
To be honest i guess that against Spain that this will be there end in the Euro 2024 , any other result would be the biggest surprise.

After leaving the group stage behind and the draw we have, I'm expecting all the favourites to win except Italy. I just can't trust them with this poor level performance.

Italy weren't like they were on the pitch against Spain and they barely saved 1 point against Croatia as well. Life savers like this wouldn't happen all the time. Switzerland are doing pretty well. They even made difficulties for Germany you know and didn't lose to them. If they are able to stand strong there, they should be able to do it way better against this Italy. I'm afraid the last champion isn't playing good at all...  Sad

The atmosphere and pressure in the group stage & knockout round is different, you might see Switzerland playing quite well in the group stage, but maybe they will lose to Italy in the round of 16. Don't you remember how Italy managed to beat England in the last EURO edition?

Then, don't you look at the betting market? The odds on Switzerland & Italy are quite lopsided, which indicates that it's very likely that this match will be won by Italy. I also have no doubt that Italy will win the match, Switzerland are only good in the group, and when it goes to the knockout round, they don't have the mentality to win.
I won't look at the odd still. If I were to look at the odds ill prefer the draw odd because i hardly be convinced that Italy is going to win this match, they have not been good at scoring goals in their last matches, and it is a very big problem. Because whether they are playing against a team with better performances they need to score or they are playing against a team that they are better than they also need a goal to win. If Switzerland can make good use of opportunities today, they might end up winning the game or worst comes to worst the game ends up yp be a draw.

I would also prefer the draw odd. Even though this match seems to belong to Italy, it is very likely that Italy will only get it in extra time or penalty shootout. Italy did not show an impressive performance in the group phase but, it still cannot be denied that they do have a very good defensive strategy,  and they have also proven that they have a winning mentality. So if the match is tied at the end of the 90 minutes, then Italy has a big chance of winning.

I think there was a foul on Türkiye's goalkeeper in the goal scored by the Czech Republic. VAR should have called the referee to look at this position, but VAR did not warn the referee and the goal was considered valid. Czech Republic played with 10 players for a long time and I think they played good football. They resisted the opponent well when they were 10 people.

If Türkiye had lost the match, it would not have been able to get out of the group because Portugal lost 2-0 to Georgia. Such a score was a surprise for football fans.

Georgia caused the biggest surprise yesterday by defeating Portugal 2-0 in the final match of Group F. Despite Portugal not playing their main team, I expected an easy win for them. However, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and his teammates played exceptionally well and proved me wrong. Kvaratskhelia also became the player who scored the earliest goal Portugal has ever conceded in the history of the European Championship. With this result, Georgia secured 4 points and finished third in the group. Meanwhile, Portugal advanced to the next stage with 6 points. Having already secured the top spot in the group, Portugal will face Slovenia, while Georgia will take on Spain in the Round of 16.

I have read a fan's comment on Southgate on X but I can't find the source right now.  Sad  They said Southgate had Bundesliga top scorer, La Liga player of the season and Premier League player of the season all in the same squad but he was still not able to make any use of them. This is one of the best ways to state England's condition now.

It is all because of Southgate. Otherwise I believe England has the best squad in Euro 2024 now. How can you play this poorly, right? I'm glad that I'm not a fan otherwise I would be very uneasy with this situation.  Tongue
I'm not surprised that England failed in big competitions like the Euros or the World Cup even though they have many good players in their squad. England are a very different team when all their best players play in one game and I really find them struggling to win games. Who says Kane, Bellingham, Foden and Saka are not good, they are all the best players at their respective clubs. However, their performance has never been the same when playing with England and that is why England has struggled so far.

Of course, many people blame England coach Gareth Southgate because he was unable to maximize the number of great players in his squad, but I can't blame him too much because all the players selected as the main line-up should have the same responsibility to play optimally. Gareth Southgate may not be the best coach, but how can we completely blame him if his players' performance on the field is not optimal?
