Well, i think nobody can predict that outcome from the group D, man what a mirecale do Austria not only qualifying but also being in the first spot, and changing all the eurocup, because now the draw for R16 and QF is super diferent in one side are super heavy teams and in the other not so much.

Dissapointing performance until now of France and Netherlands.

The last two matches of today are the final matches in Group C. In these two matches, Denmark will face Serbia, and England will face Slovenia. England currently leads the group with 4 points. Slovenia must win against England, while Denmark needs a victory to secure a spot in the round of 16. Serbia, on the other hand, will await the result of the England-Slovenia match to determine their fate in the group.
All teams still have a chance in this group but I am again not sure about England maybe they can win but it will be hard to do even though they have star players all over the league but it is hard to win.
Denmark will definitely try to win they are already 2 points ahead while Serbia only have 1, if they win then Slovenia will have to lose to England or vice versa.

The Netherlands will have to lose to Austria 2-3 are already assured of qualification including France, but the Netherlands can qualify as the 3rd best.

Netherlands were a disaster today, I guess you agree with me on that point. I mean they didn't have problems on scoring. The main issue was defending.

The interesting thing was that Netherlands scored 2 own goals. Maybe the 2nd one was written to Schmid but if de Vrij didn't try to touch the ball that wasn't going to end up with a goal. Austria's 3rd goal was so comfortable also. It was like a walk in the park.  Grin

Netherlands will finish the stage as one of the best third-placed teams most probably but they can't do much with this poor defending. Congrats to Austria on their bold game which resulted in even finishing Group D in 1st place.  Cool

Modric saying goodbye (possibly) to the national team with a group stage elimination wasn't what they were thinking probably. I mean he is quite old now, and him playing 2 more years for world cup, will not be all that simple at all. I think it is clear that we are talking about him leaving, retiring after this one unless he does something unbelievable.

He can not do anything unbelievable because he does not have the ability of Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo that can play forever due to their talents. Luka Modric has tried for Croatia, I do not use to watch their game untill Luka modric start playing and carrying the whole team on his back. He can not be doing that while old, I said he is not Messi that can win a world cup and I feel sorry for him. They are not eliminated from the tournament yet but it is not looking very good for them. Croatia not moving forward is not what we expected, there are some nations that you will just know they can not going to progress out of the group stage but Croatia was not one of them and that makes it sad because I will miss watching their beautiful supporters that use to come to their games

Luka Modric is a player I admire his pattern of play even though he's old but yet he is very active contributor to both Real Madrid and the National team Croatia and even in this Euro 2024 in Germany, he has shown devotion for his team but it's unfortunate that they they may not qualify for the round of 16 even if there are still chances of them qualifying but it's very slim chance. Even if Luka Modric can't be matched with the standards of Messi or Ronaldo but he did his best for his team and his country but I want to correct an impression you just created by saying that Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo can play forever because we know that age is almost against the both players of which they are nearing a retirement age from football. Even if Croatia gets eliminated, Luka Modric is an icon for the country because he made them proud through out his playing time for the country.

Never compare a player to another because each of them have their unique differences and we all know that Luka Modric and Messi can't be compared between Messi has made better achievements in his football than Modric.

Netherlands just went 1-0 down to Austria, obviously a long way to go but if this result stood the Netherlands could finish 3rd in the group meaning a much tougher last 16 tie. From what I’ve seen so far the Netherlands look very unlikely to be a candidate to win the Euros.

England play later tonight, they also look poor so far, they do not look like a tournament winning team. Spain are maybe the stand out team so far.
Yes, the matches in the group are over. The Netherlands lost 3-2 against Austria and fell to third place in the group. Now France is second and Austria is first. Poland overtook France from the leadership by scoring one point. The Euro 2024 tournament continues with excitement. If Slovenia surprises and beats England today, the situation will become more complicated. I'm curious about tonight's matches.

Austria and the Netherlands showed today how to play football and I think this is the most effective and tense match of the tournament so far and Austria's 3:2 win puts them on top of the group. The Netherlands with 4 points are in 3rd place and most likely will be in the top 4 teams, which will also go to the playoffs.
France is now in 2nd place and I think Deschamps' team will compete with Southgate's England team, whose team will be more boring.
France made the playoffs by scoring only 1 goal and that was a penalty!
With the Netherlands France played a draw without goals, in the match with Austria the Austrians scored an auto-goal and only with Poland Mbappe could score a goal from a penalty.

The Dutch are struggling to find a goal to bring the score back to a draw, their efforts so far have not been fruitful as no player has been able to take advantage of the opportunity. The Dutch game so far is still very far from expectations, the midfield is unable to maintain the rhythm of the game well. The Netherlands spent more time blocking attacks from Austria, they were also unable to create good opportunities when they had the ball. Seeing the current direction of the Dutch game, it is very difficult for them to compete for the Euro trophy, throughout the first half the Dutch still had difficulty creating opportunities, they had to take advantage of the second half to save them from defeat.
What an exciting game!!! 5 goals and a team that goes through to the next round with this sensational win today and holland are probably not out of the tournament yet. They have 4 points and a good chance of a place in the last 16. But 4 goals were scored in the second 45 minutes, that was a half i love to see and i hope we see a lot more of that now. Holland have a great team, you have to beat them first, so is Austria a favorite for at least the semi-finals? I think so. Im watching england vs slovenia now and i think england will show their real strength today.

There were no surprises in Group B. Spain defeated Albania and finished as the leader of the group with 3 out of 3. After 3 matches without conceding a goal, Spain completed the group with a nice statistic.

Spain was already playing really well in this tournament. And this was supposed to be a very easy match for Spain. If I am not wrong, they did not even play the strongest 11 that they have. They did not play some really good players, like Nico Williams. And this was a good performance from Spain to win this match. They have made a lot of attacking and in the end, Spain was finally successful in winning.  It wouldn’t have mattered anyway. Because Spain is already through. But the way they have attacked, I would have actually liked to see them score a few more. And they did not also have a lot of shots on target as well.

I understand that the scenario of the team's chances of qualifying from Group D is a little inaccurate.

France will qualify even if they draw against Poland. Poland has no chance of qualifying because they haven't won two matches.
The Netherlands also has a chance to qualify with the results they have obtained in the last two matches.
I can say, France and Austria and the Netherlands have a chance to qualify. Two of them will qualify automatically, the other one will qualify from the best third place.

The Dutch position has now lost and France has also won. This means that the Netherlands will be in third place with a scenario like this.
Now that everything is clear, the game is over. The Netherlands lost 2-3 to Austria, while France and Poland drew 1-1. The Netherlands is the team in third place in group D with 4 points, they will probably qualify for the last 16 through 1 of the 4 best third place teams. France surprisingly failed to win this match even though Poland basically no longer had any hope of qualifying for the round of 16, but this match was really interesting.

In the next hour, group C teams will determine their fate too. England and Denmark are both favorites to progress to the last 16, but if Serbia and Slovenia win then the odds could change. Group C is still a difficult one in my opinion, so it will be interesting to look forward to the match.

Croatia's problems arose in the game when they failed to defeat Albania. I think that with 4 points, access to the playoffs would be guaranteed. By the way, Croatia has not yet officially left the tournament - if in groups C and F the teams that took third place have worse results than Croatia, then Croatia will go further. This looks unlikely, but still such a possibility exists, in fact, in order for Croatia to remain in the tournament, Portugal, Turkey, Denmark and England must win. Moreover, England must win big.
Yes that's right. Krosasi's chances are actually very big in this group if he is able to win over Albania in his second match, but unfortunately he has to be satisfied with a draw. Croatia's fate at this year's Euro was very unfortunate, they failed to maintain their lead, in the match against Albania the goal was scored in the 90+4 minute and yesterday against Italy it was even more painful 90+7. There were only 45 seconds left to qualify for the round of 16, but now they were 99% eliminated. On the bench, Modric didn't seem to believe this result. It is true that the opportunity still exists, but it feels like the opportunity is very impossible because we are hoping for another team.

Italy is unique, a team that is difficult to predict, even though they almost lost in the match against Croatia, this team made a surprise. Zaccagni's goal reminded me of Del Piero's goal when he silenced all predictions and made the German public cry, when Italy eliminated the 2006 World Cup hosts in the semifinals.

.
Mattia Zaccagni's extraordinary goal in the 98th minute

Incredible match between Italy and Croatia.  As soon as we thought that Croatia would be able to win, Italy was able to equalize at the very last moment. In the 98th minute to be exact, it is Mattia Zaccagni who equalizes the score. Italy actually played very well in this match. I will actually lie if I say that they did not deserve to get at least one point from this match. It was a good goal from Modrić and I thought that was going to take Croatia to the win. But they just could not defend well enough till the very end.

So if I am not wrong Italy is actually through to the next stage. Because they probably needed only a draw to actually get to the next stage but Croatia needed to win the match. So I guess when I predicted that Italy was actually going to not win the match I was not wrong. But I did say that Croatia had a good chance to win. That did not happen as well.

Today's games are interesting and the most interesting one is France against Poland since losing a point will have bad consequences in the ranking and for the next stage match for France. Finishing first is required and a victory against Poland is a must for them. So far France looks favourite and in a good shape comparing to Poland.
There is also England that should remain first too. Slovenia are lower than them but who knows. Otherwise Denmark - Serbia and Netherlands - Austria teams aren't far from each others in terms of performance and everything could happen in these games.
Mbappe will play today, there's no chance France will lose in this match. If we're talking about the worst situation, France could drop to third position, it's really high unlikely they will drop to fourth position.
Though Poland has become the first team to leave Euro 2024, I believe you should also consider their small chance of making France lose three points. Poland can play without having to work for points, and it's difficult to imagine France winning this game easily.

Who knows what will happen with France in the last game, but given that Masked Mbappe, Barcola, and Dembele will start, France will have a clear advantage in terms of club quality.

Having checked the tournament table, it is now that I am noting that there has a great possibility that France will not qualify for the next round. If Netherlands had the guts the beat Austria, it will be a hell for France. But surprisingly I see Austria at the top of the group table. Till the end of today's match, I might not know the fate of France.
Also, as you rightly stated, Poland can be a spoiler to France is time is not taken. However it may be, the return of the wonder boy - Mbappe will surely bring significant positive changes to the team moral and performance.

I have checked that, though France lost against Poland, they still qualified through the four best third-placed teams. The table has confirmed that if france and the Netherlands are guaranteed to advance to round of 16, they will move on to the next stage. Even if Poland defeats France now, their gap from third place is too great to qualify.

The current score between Poland and France is 1-1. UEFA let one of the four teams qualify from the four best third-placed teams in Group D.

Plenty of action here now, 2 more goals in the second half - Netherlands 1-2 Austria
The Austria-Netherlands match is going great. Now the match is 3-2. Austria manages to get ahead every time. I don't know what the Netherlands can do in extra time, but I'm starting to think Austria might manage to take the lead again. Great match. France also continues 1-1 with Poland and with this result Austria will be the group leader.

Make that three goals. The game is going as expected; tough and both sides not giving in to the other. I never thought Austria will be able to get a goal, much less two because I felt Netherlands will try to dominate the game through out. When France met Austria, they won by a slim margin, but from what we are seeing now, they won't allow themselves to get intimidated by another big team.

It's even more interesting than the one France is having with Poland. It's as if everyone has awoken and are now playing fine football.

*Edit; Austria are now winning! What a surprising turn of events!

Croatia failed to score in the first half, but Luka Modric scored after missing a penalty to give his team a 1-0 lead. Italy managed to finish 2nd in the group with a goal in the last second of extra time. Interestingly, it was a sad ending for Croatia, which was leading the match but collapsed in the last seconds.
So far we have not seen many surprises in the group phase of this year euro, and even when the euro has not started many of us have concluded that group B is a hell group, but in fact we do not see any fierce competition in the group happening at the moment including group B, currently Spain and Italy have secured a place in the round of 16 very easily even Croatia which is expected to be a stumbling block for the both teams has not been able to provide much resistance so far and make their position bad to qualify for the round of 16, the last match of group B has been played and the standings have not changed at all at this time.

Previously, I hoped that the matches and competitions that occurred in group B would be very exciting and tight like the hell group in every international football competition, but this did not happen at all, compared to group B, of course, the hell group actually occurred in group E where currently all teams have the same chance to qualify for the round of 16,  Belgium, Romania, Slovakia and Ukraine both collected 3 points from 2 matches so the last match will be the determinant of all teams passing later.
