Last night, Germany and Scotland faced off in the opening match of the 2024 European Football Championship, where Germany won a comfortable victory with a score of 5-1. The tournament’s opening goal was scored by the young talent Florian Wirtz, assisted by Joshua Kimmich in the 10th minute. Today, there are three different matches: Hungary vs Switzerland, Spain vs Croatia, and Italy vs Albania.
It's crazy to see Germany this year and it's so far from what they've shown before. They destroyed Scotland's defense so easily and made them unable to do anything throughout the match. Manuel Neuer was seen not moving much considering the lack of attacks from Scotland. The situation got worse after one of the Scottish players received a red card which meant they only played with 10 players.
However, despite all of that, I am still amazed by Toni Kroos' performance because out of 102 passes he succeeded 101 times and only failed once. I still can't believe that a player as good as this who changed the flow of Germany's tempo will soon retire and I still don't think he wants to leave football at its peak.
For the other matches today I will be holding Switzerland, Croatia and Italy.
