Learning never stops!

England must try again in the next edition, but becoming champion is not an easy matter because the competition is very competitive. Southgate departure means that the England coach seat is empty. The coach appointed to be Southgate successor must be superior and able to improve England abilities in order to win the gold medal.
That's how it works nothing good comes easy and those that  have improved so much will continue to improve without setting back which means England just have to work harder to get that Gold medal . Although, most times football can come with luck but hardwork really matters for good lucks Smiley .Apart from England, Germany could have also gotten a very good chance to win this competition  but they met Spain so soon(tough game but Spain had the luck).

Gareth Southgate have been one of the best managers in the history of the England national team but sadly, he have no major trophy to show for his incredible journey with the national team which i think was the reasons he decided to leave his role as the coach of the national team. Before the just concluded European Championship started, he had already said he'll leave his role as England boss if they fail to win the tournament but after his team reached the final of the competition, the English FA offered to extend his contract with the national team till 2026 FIFA World Cup. I thought he'll reconsider his ground and accept to remain but Southgate as a man of his words decided to stand by his words.

England was the second best team in that final and I don't think there's anyone arguing with the fact that Spain was a better team than England in the UEFA Euros Championship so it's now left for English FA to get a good replacement for Gareth Southgate.

Southgate was able to lead England to the finals on several occasions, a good achievement, but it's too bad he couldn't win a single trophy in those finals. Now they say that there are seven contenders for the post of head coach of the England national team, I don’t want to discuss possible candidates now, because many of them are either rumors or just guesses.
I think that is the best Southgate can achieve to only see the cup and not lifting it which shows that he is not a lucky coach and does not fit to be England coach if they want to win trophies. England is such a big country in football and have good players but it is sad that countries who don't have talented players in good numbers like them have won European competitions.

The new coach will be revealed to the public when he has being given the contract and there is no need to worry over that just relax and watch who will be the next coach of England.

Yes, this may be unpleasant, but the fact is that Spain is above England in almost everything. That's why, when the live final took place, we could see that Spain's possession of the ball was very good and even dominating. Their mentality is really strong, not only offensive, but their defense is also very strong. The Spanish players were on fire, really on fire at that time, so their motivation increased drastically, matched by their ability as individuals and as a team when competing, which was extraordinary. Spain really deserves to be the winner.

Yes, it is very natural for Southgate to resign as the main football manager/coach of England, if not, then he will become the subject of criticism because he is considered not really optimal. Yes, even though he certainly has done the best, however, he will not escape England's failure to become champion. But, whatever it is, thanks to him that brought England to the final.

The decision contains pros and cons, because after all, Southgate has accompanied England for a long time and this is not easy for him. He has, but it all has to end, and England still has to continue to improve and prepare for another championship match. Because

Spain outplayed England. End of story. They controlled the ball, they controlled the game. Its what happens when you're a well-oiled machine against, let us say England is not blazing on all cylinders.

About Southgate. Eight years without medals, and a resignation too late and too little. Time for a change. We cannot have a guy content drinking lemonade on the beach while League B England is still in progress. Thats loser talk. With the 2026 World Cup coming up, we need a winner, not a beach bum.

England need fresh strategies and a different mindset. They want an offense that will score, not boring. England cannot keep being like a sleeping pill. Its time to wake up and win something, folks. Its time for a fresh age.

Southgate wasn't really "bad" if you think about it, world cup was a little bit disappointing on how they left, that's true but the level they got out was fine. On top of that they had two finals, which is good as well.

I believe that they made a mistake letting him go, but I also understand that Southgate may not want to be managing anymore after he lost two finals, that must have some toll on peoples soul and he just probably wants to relax a bit instead.~

On average, Southgate was good (unless you take into account that England were knocked out of Group A in the Nations League, but no one cares about that tournament), two finals is a great achievement in itself. The problem is that England have been without titles for a very long time and all the fans want it to end. Even if the next coach wins silver at the 2026 World Cup, then silver at Euro 2028, I think he will be fired.
Everything boils down to the expectation than the whole world have for England. Right from time the England national team has been known as a team that parades too much squad but in the end they will not be able to win a trophy. Even in the just concluded euro competition, I was so confident that England would end their trophylessness this time around. But it was quite unfortunate that Spain were much stronger than them.

I have never been a party to those that criticizes Southgate. They have thought that it is easy to manage the English team and win trophies, not knowing that managing big players from different clubs is even a harder task. The higher the star players, the more the confusion. I would never rate Southgate as poor.

Reaching two finals at the Euros is a brilliant achievement that Southgate presented to the England national team. This is not because the player material that England has is almost evenly distributed in every line, but his ability to formulate strategies has made England successful in winning runners up. It is very realistic for England to want a trophy because they have never won it so far, but in matches there is always the possibility of winning or losing.

Southgate is still one of the good enough coaches but when talking about the coach for the England national team he is not suitable because indeed the pressure and qualifications are too high for Southgate which makes this a little more difficult, especially we know that England is superior and with the quality of players who are strong enough because it is filled by the majority of excellent young players actually Southgate is difficult and even too small to manage a national team of this size.

So it is undeniable that even though in the end they remained in the final, the performance shown by Southgate was actually ordinary and there was nothing interesting about what he did in the England squad during this Euro.

The style of play that tends to be more monotonous and the difficulty of Southgate in determining the scheme and players who compete shows that he is not able to be in England, so when Southgate voluntarily resigned I think it was a good decision for him to do in this case.

I am sure that he is going to find some job, I do not assume that it is going to be a high level, not like he is going to replace Pep when he leaves City type of level, but I am sure that there must be plenty of job chances for him in all over Europe.

I however think that he will take this year off, and see about it next season, that looks alright. Mainly because he probably will want to take a little bit of vacation and relax, and secondly because it's already late July, meaning that most teams already have their managers, it is not going to be all that easy to handle anything else. He wouldn't be able to find a proper job at this point, and if he takes a year off, by next season I am sure that there will be teams knocking on his door.

Because the team was very poor, the real final, in my humble opinion, was Spain - Germany.
That was the real final.  Among other things, we can say that it is the match where Spain suffered the most (even a red card)
So England reached the final by pure luck.
That was a frickin' final before the final, Spain against Germany. You know? Intensity, ability, strategies - all there was. Spain, even with a man down, showed some serious cojones. You really have to respect this. England... they made it to the final, yes. But that was a lucky run. They were like a drunk man looking for his vehicle keys, rambling about without obvious direction throughout the competition. Southgate, man, some of his decisions made sense nowhere. He has some brilliant people here, but the strategies? He seemed to be reading from a completely other playbook. Against Spain, it was just painful to watch
Spain didn't have a man down but it was at the last three minutes of the game. Germany match was the roughest match for Spain because the Germans were equal to the task but in every match at that stage, there must be a winner and that was how Spain was to score their last and final goal in the match.

England has good world class players but lack of good manager is the cause of why those talents are wasting without winning a trophy for long. Now that he has being fired, I believe England will win a trophy.

A good visualization of what was obvious to everyone: England reached the final only thanks to a convenient tournament bracket and luck/randomness. If you look at the quality of the game, they are somewhere in 4-7 place, no higher, it is not surprising that Southgate is leaving the post of head coach of the national team. He would have been forgiven if England had won the title with a dismal performance, but when there is no performance or result, you have to take responsibility.

The decision contains pros and cons, because after all, Southgate has accompanied England for a long time and this is not easy for him. He has, but it all has to end, and England still has to continue to improve and prepare for another championship match. Because

As I understand it, the new coach will start with games in the Nations League, where England fell into League B (lol) and where it is impossible to motivate the players to play normally since it is a rubbish tournament. Quite a dangerous situation (for a new coach) because if the results are weak then he will be subject to harsh criticism as everyone is waiting for the England team to progress but not vice versa. It will be interesting to see which group England will be in to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, there may also be surprises there.

The decision is all there if we want, in the end one era ends and another opens.  Sometimes even when you have won it is necessary to change for a sort of renewal.
So I would like to say, okay, thank him and move on.  This is the best way to do things.  As it was for Lippi at Juventus, except that he left as a champion (also with Italy).

And before the final, Spain also played more aggressively compared to England. This can be seen from the statistics below:

Gareth Southgate has maintained the morale of the England national soccer team for eight years. Now he needs support himself. Perhaps the best way for him to recover will be a vacation on the beach, where he can quietly drink lemonade and watch from the sidelines. I think it is time for a young and promising English coach to emerge who will favor an attacking style of play.

They officially announced the best players during this tournament and now I guess since we are in the summer and transfer windows are open in most of the leagues, we are can see some more offers for these players they had good performances.
This can make everything hard for these teams to keep the players there.

In practice it is a Spain with a few other players.  It is no coincidence that I would like to say, I have always said and bet on Spain and this has not disappointed me at all and has also led me to profits in this regard.
So in the end I was right about Spain.
Well done.

Yea, that is what they think is the best for them after equalizing the goal, they wanted to defend the goal to penalty shootout and they forgot that Spain don't win with penalties but within 90 minutes which make me see England as weak because they didn't go to the field to grab the cup but they were hoping to be lucky again.
Dragging the match to penalty shootout would have actually been the best option for England. Initially I was thinking they will fall back to the defense and never allowed Spain to score even a single goal, then use counter attack whenever they get the ball. But it seems they ignored this strategy that helped Chelsea make remarkable progress in their football during the era of Drogba. Hence, they paid the ultimate price of losing the trophy to Spain who are very good at scoring and deserve the winning. Well, the final came out as expected because majority opted for Spain to win.

Yes, it's true, maybe England wouldn't have been able to get to the final if they had met Germany or Spain earlier. But their luck was indeed quite impressive. and it was the second final in a row in which England had finished runners up for two consecutive Euros. And maybe in the next Euro Competition England could again be able to advance to the final. and if that happens then it is quite surprising. But they have never won a European title even though they have always had great players in their squad. And when England made it to the final again, I thought that England would win the European title for the first time. but apparently that didn't happen. And the best team like Spain still gets it because Spain was the team that deserved it from the start. Because the way they play is always not boring.

Because the team was very poor, the real final, in my humble opinion, was Spain - Germany.

Whether luck or not , it was recorded that they reached the finals and they would have even caused some kind of upset too if only they didn't go back and relax after scoring that equalizer because the goal made them relax and Spain was tirelessly working in the Frontline with the likes of William and yamal running down defenders on a steady.

However reaching the finals is a big achievement for them because they played the best team in the finals which most people knew that England will not win Spain in the finals. So I will say that they reached their highest point in the tournament.

You consider Germany and France to be very strong opponents for Spain, while you consider Netherlands and Switzerland as weak opponents for England. Find out more about what Netherlands has achieved in football and how strong Switzerland is in football. Germany and France were tough opponents for Spain and Switzerland and Netherlands were much tougher opponents for England. You have to accept that England performed well in the quarter-final and semi-final matches which led them to qualify for the finals, while Spain's field is the same. However, Spain definitely performed better than England in the final match, attacking as well as counter-attacking which is why they got success against England. With all the players England have in their squad, it is certainly possible to beat the best teams in the world.

What's your point? England had an easier path and they went through it worse. But we can make an assessment from the other side: before the start of the tournament, England was the main favorite (rated slightly better than France), Spain was rated 3 times worse. If I remember correctly the odds were approximately 3 and 10+. But by the finals the roles had completely changed and Spain was already the favorite and they confirmed their status. It turns out England failed, doesn't it?
England performed much lower than expected in the tournament. Frankly, this was a disappointment for many. Of course, I expected success from Spain, but I did not expect a clear difference. They wiped out England in the final and won the championship with their dominant game. Absolutely the entire team deserves recognition. Spain showed again that it is one of the greatest teams in Europe and the world.

That's right, Spain vs Germany is the ideal final at Euro 2024, these two teams played very well during the Euro. The players of both teams also have great talent who will present a final match full of tension and will spoil the eyes of football fans. However, this match happened faster than expected, Spain had to face a team that qualified for the final due to luck alone.

England are not the favorites to win Euro 2024 because their performance was still below expectations, the players did not have good chemistry between the lines, they had difficulty beating their opponents several times even though they finally managed to appear in the final. Spain really deserved to be champions because they had quality players and their journey to the final was not easy, they had to overcome challenges from big teams in order to appear in the final, the victory over England was very worthy because the quality of the two was very different.
