Many expected Netherlands to win but not me and I`m happy I was right, England might be under performing whereby becoming the underdog of this match but came out victorious again, Netherland still tried though but the England sub where just superb today.
England all through this European competition have not been very impressive but they find themselves in the finals of the competition even though they're not playing to their full potentials. The same kind of pain that Watkins causes to teams in the premier League is the same pain he has caused Netherlands today.
Watkins stole the headline much often in the EPL this season but let see what will be of him in the final.

In as much as I expected England to win and get to the final, I actually don`t know who would win in the final though I know many may just pick as favorite since they are clear off in team performance in the tournament that England but it will be Ironic seeing England lose two Euro final in a row.
Spain against England is a proper final game.
It maybe a proper final game but won`t be as intense as everyone expected from the Spain vs Germany match, while I don`t consider this match as any proper final is from the fact that, both team got into the final as one performing excellently in all matches while the other underperforming but still win their match to make it to the final while also being Euro finalist last time

Ollie Watkins was the man of the match after entering as a substitute to score the winning goal for the three Lions of England. Of course Watkins will surely remember this goal for his entire football career especially the fact that he came in less than 10 minutes towards the end of the second half to make that spectacular delivery.

So we have England against Spain, my favourite to win between both of them is the English team, though I understand that Spain have higher chances due to the calibre of intensity they approach with every game they have played so far in the competition, but I still believe England can still make out something from that final game.

Today England showed a glimpse of why they were rated so high up as favorites, they controlled the game right from the beginning. I think the new formation to have both Trippier and Saka as wing backs works for them as this gives Saka much needed freedom to go and come back, also this formation had pushed Foden or his favourite right wing and we all could see the difference today with some of his shots and curlers.

The addition of both Plamer and Watkins were necessary due to the lack of chances been created In the midfield, England were controlling the game but those chances weren’t going towards the opposition goal, something which of Southgate does have to change before going against Spain on Sunday.

Now my complaint is now the man of the match award given to Watkins, yes the goal made him go ahead of others  in terms of impact but come of it he played at most 15 minutes. The first name on that list would have been Xavi Simons but after losing he can’t get the award again, then comes Kobbie Mainoo who to me was absolutely the best England player on that pitch today

Overall England played decent today, not like before, when all their matches were all about wearing down the opponent and a goal at the end, their matches were extremely boring. I hope the final will be as interesting as today's match or even better.  I will still be rooting for Spain in the final, as I think they played interesting and entertaining football throughout the tournament
While England did well I am disappointed with the Netherlands, because after they scored first they decided to take a passive stance against England and let them get the initiative, and this is a mistake against any of the top teams, since no matter how good a team could be at defense, chances are that England will find a way to score when they had the possession of the ball for so long, and then when the score was tied Netherlands played for the extra time, and they failed to reach it with thanks to Watkins, so I am disappointed on how the whole match was approached by the Netherlands.
The Netherlands had made a good start with the goal they scored very early, so I thought they could hold England with such an advantage, and I was disappointed. If England had gone to extra time again and lost there, I would have said it was really unfortunate.

In fact, England were the side that played better in this match. The Netherlands could not increase their intensity in the match where they started well, they retreated and it was not good for them to retreat.

Xavi Simons scored a beautiful goal, but it was wasted. When England equalized early with a penalty, they didn't panic too much. The game was generally even and both sides were looking for extra time and perhaps penalties, but in the last minute Ollie Watkins stepped up. It seemed risky to take Harry Kane off, but Watkins had shown how fit he was with his goals in the Premier League this season, I think Southgate made the right decision and England won the game. It's going to be a good final.

Their glory doesn't stop there. They have to double their efforts against Spain because those boys aren't in for any play. They ball well and strike excellently. I'm really rooting for England, I also think the coach should give Palmer more playtime in the finals. The lad got lots of underrated magic. We can beat testimony to the final minutes of the match and his assist that put England in the finals

Mine too, I'm rooting for Harry Kane. That dude is a very fine player, it's so hurtful he's without much titles to his name. I'll love this to add to his titles portfolio on international level. They have a lot of work to do if they'll be breating Spain buys, because the Spain team is no joke.

The match ended 2-1 and England won. This was a great experience for them and they qualified for the final, the last match, with the goal they scored in the last minute against the Netherlands. Watkins will remember the goal he scored for a long time. We will see the Spain-England match in the final and my favorite was Spain, who I thought would win from the very beginning. Spain, there were 2/3 teams that I consider as favorites and I think Spain has a higher chance of winning in the final

I don't know why it took a long time for Southgate to think about replacing Harry Kane and Foden. It was clear that they were having difficulty penetrating, so what England needed was a midfielder who could tirelessly chase the ball and a runner in the front line. This was proven after playing Watkins and Palmer replacing Kane and Foden, England managed to break the deadlock.
I think Southgate is finding it hard to make the right selection in England squad, because of the number of quality players in the team. If Southgate had known how to play the England squad well, England wouldn't have been finding it difficult to score winning goals against their opponent, despite owing every of their match ball possession.
I don't know why Southgate finds it very hard to start Palmer in most England matches. He forgets that Palmer is a playmaker in matches, than Kane. Playing him in most England matches can turn around the match in England's favor.
Kane and Foden were substituted for Palmer and Watkins in 81 minutes of play, and the winning goal of England in 90+1 minutes by Watkins, assisted by Palmer

Another underwhelm game for England.
Even today they can't dominate the game.

England and France were the 2 favorite teams before the start of the cup and they can be both out from the final if they can score another goal in the final 30 minutes.

They are having a lot of ball possession but they cant score, fun fact, 65% ball possession and 0 corners.

What good is possession of the ball if 90% of passes are cross-field passes from defenders? At the end of the game, the Netherlands looked better in my opinion (even despite the fact that England scored from offside now). Southgate makes a double change with an emphasis on attack but I doubt Palmer and Watkins will do anything in 10 minutes, most likely we will see extra time.

But at least in today's match they won again despite the difficulties and are in the final for the euro this time Smiley

England can always benefit especially for the crucial time just don't know if this luck will be until the end or not because seeing from what they show actually their performance in possession of the ball in almost every match is still quite good but the chemistry they have as well as the monotonous scheme from Southgate makes England like an ordinary club.
In this match they are not bad in terms of performance but from the opportunities they have and from their productivity in scoring goals still hasn't changed.
However, with today's win against the Netherlands we must still congratulate England for making it to the final.

England have done well in this tournament and they really deserve the final which they have now gotten. This will really be a big boast to the English football that have been struggling for a long time now when it come to the national team. The goal scored by Ollie Watkins at the last minutes of the match was really not the fault of anyone; it was just too good a goal and a very important one at that. That strike ended the career of the Netherlands side who have been optimistic of going to the final after defeating Turkey in the quarter finals. I think I'm good with the two teams playing the final, they both tried as far as this year's competition is concerned.
Yes, in fact, both teams deserved to be champions and wanted the final. The Netherlands was also trying, but it didn't work. England, who were more successful and controlled the ball more, managed to win. Ollie Watkins was the player who scored the goal that won the match and England were literally excited with this goal. They will try to become champions by beating Spain in the final, but a very difficult fight awaits them because Spain is in very good form.

Nah, the performance of England so far in this tournament is below expectations judging by the squad they have, England managed to get to the stage where they are right now and progressing to the finals after winning against Netherlands tonight is a welcome development for the team but yet they need to improve in their performance if they must win against Spain in the finals.

Netherlands were in control of the game at the initial stage but after scoring the goal they slowed down their performance and England took control of the and got the equalizing goal but the game ended in favour of England after a late strike by Ollie Watkins which ensured the progress of England into the finals.
It was a good game but at the end one team made it to the next stage of the competition, congratulations to England.

Now it's time for the biggest test for them because I believe Spain is actually the worse opponent for them to play now in the finals but so far the competition has favoured them so maybe they will do better knowing their are fighting for the euro trophy for the second time since Italy actually won them on their previous try, I just hope they can manage to actually do something and conquer the Spaniards because it would be really bad for them to lose twice.

Southgate made the right substitute today by bri3in Cole Palmer and Ollie Watkins. The combination of these two players strengthen the team which led to the winning goal. Palmer was the one who did the assist while Watkins did a perfect finish to make the difference in the match and made his country qualify to the finals. Netherlands tried their best but they could not withstand the English force.

This is the best game England have played since the beginning of this tournament and they deserve the victory. Spain and England will play in the finals and I think the trophy belongs to Spain only if we will see surprises from the English players.

I never thought that I would be rooting for Spain against England in the final, but England turned me off with their play and Spain did the opposite.

Football can be a funny sport sometimes. I won't be surprised if England goes on to win Spain on Saturday despite playing so awfully all tournament. They've gotten this far playing that way. Spain has had the harder route to get to this point. From the group stage they faced tougher opponent like Italy and Croatia. They they faced Georgia, then Germany and the France. These are almost all the top countries in Europe and they won all of them without penalty shoot outs. That's pretty impressive. It would be a shame to have that kind of run to the final and lose the final.

I would be routing for Spain fully because they deserved the trophy more. Not only have they hard tougher opponents, but they have been the best team in the tournament. They've played better, they've scored more goals and been entertaining.
But we know how cruel football can be. It doesn't care about who deserved it most. It only cares about who wins in the final and I hope Spain wins it.

The substitution of Harry Kane and Phil Foden really worked out for Southgate as Watkins finished the job for the England team, sincerely Speaking England surprised many today with their performance because from the first half till when the game ended, they have possessed the ball more than the Netherlands and it seems the Netherlands played more of defensive game than attacking the England team that was why the pressure was much in for the Netherlands defense. England played more better today when compared to their performance since the season started, maybe since it was a semi final they took it more seriously than the previous matches they have played in the competition. I like the pressure of Harry Kane and Foden before they were substituted, they played great game and I commend the England team for their doggedness this night. The Netherlands were so scared of coming forth to play the England team which shows they were absolutely being careful with the England team but England keeps putting more pressure on the Netherlands team. England will now face Spain in the finals, it will be a very big and interesting clash to watch.

Finishers he called them, finishers. Southgate seems to have built the mentality of his substitutes to a level that, they really do come on field and end give him the game. This was true when they played in the quarterfinals and even more so now in the semi finals.
Certainly you’ve got to agree that their are tired legs on the pitch from both ends, bringing in some key players like Watkins and Cole Palmer certainly turned the game for him. Ollie has been such a n asset to West Ham and he just dealt them some of those qualities.

Too bad for Netherland haven’t been able to contain England so well only to crake in the final minutes.

I predicted either team to win by a one goal margin. Hope some one got those 2+ odds.
Congrats to England on the finals but, could they beat Spain?
We would find out soon in the Olympic Stadium.
