Can't believe Netherlands could not hold England to a draw or even win the game with all those missed chances, it pains me to see a team that plays badly to be in the finals for the second time in a row. But to be honest, tonight I saw a different display by the English players, Foden did well same as Bellingham and Kane, they all did pretty well but my problem is why now? Well I would have loved to see Netherlands battle it out against Spain just to see a repeat of the world cup finals 2010, it would have been a game the Orange boys would have seen as a revenge but they lost that opportunity. Too bad the Netherlands are going to face former world cup winners France in the 3rd place and I can't say much but let the best team win, I would have loved to see England not getting anything in this tournament but they got lucky.
England made it to the final despite playing bad soccer. With the way they have played so far, Spain should have won the cup. Football is full of surprises, at the beginning of the tournament very few people thought England would make it this far, but they did. France's football was particularly disappointing because they proved all the predictions wrong and didn't play the good football expected of them.
England's goal in extra time was unexpected. If you don't take advantage of the positions you find, you don't have many chances.
The poor kind of play is really a turn off for me with the England squad, things we should have been seeing from other smaller teams are what we're seeing coming from a team that have tested the finals before, even the smaller nations in this tournament played better than the 3 Lions. England struggle to play as a unit even with the best if players that dominated most part of Europe (base on club levels) and coming together to play thrash is something many even the supporters should be worried about.
Although they qualified to play the number 51 game of the tournament but can they still use same pattern to go against an already made team? Fine you'd say in football anything can happen but I wouldn't want to see Spain losing that final to England to say the truth, if England do win, we can never stop hearing something like "Foden the Euros winner with the ball, he played a vital role for England become Champions of Euros 2024" from commentators in the EPL, like the over hyping will be massive.
I agree with you about taking chances but let's be true on that game, Netherlands lost that composure after conceding the goal from the spot, they weren't that difficult to play against and is like they don't know what was at stake, I believe that you'd see a more challenging 3rd place game than the finals on Sunday.
