Sevilla has won a total of 7 Europa League in total of 18 seasons that they played in the league. They played a well disciplined football as they were so much conserved and more agree than Roma. Even when their hit man Acuna is absent in the match because of the red card he conceived in the previous Europa League match, they still played optimally well.
I have nothing much to say, than Congratulations Sevilla
I thought the script might have changed when Roma was a goal up at the break of the first half, and having a manager like Mourinhno at the wheel..I really thought they  would pull through...maybe even park the bus ,but  unfortunately when it comes to Europa Sevilla always have the last laugh and yesterday wasn't  any different  Grin

That reminds me, why is it that Sevilla usually qualify for UEFA football but get knocked out earlier on only to come to win this Europa cup , very odd game if you ask me  Huh

 Congratulations Sevilla, well deserved.

Actually I also do not agree with the decision made by the referee during the Seville match with AS Roma.
From the start of the match I had doubts whether this referee could be fair and wise in making decisions but in fact the referee seemed to side with Sevilla.
Even though I liked AS Roma's performance and wanted to win the European league, fate said differently.
This became a controversy and Jose Mourinho protested loudly over the handball incident which was not approved because the referee did not see it was handed by a Sevilla player while from VAR replays it was clear that the ball hit hands, but somehow this could happened and this is detrimental to AS Roma with the incident.

I'm sure there will be many who are disappointed with the referee's decision last night but it was AS Roma's nightmare because they did not win the Europa League, while in terms of defense, Rome is no longer in doubt because Jose Mourinho already knew he would play defensively, but if the referee's decision favors When Roma hits the ball, it will be a beautiful dream, it's just that the facts are different and that's true.

It was a bad management from the referee yesterday night.Roma played better until the point Dybala was out for that Netherland attacker which was the worse player of the whole match in my opinion. The referee missed two clamorous penalties for Roma and one for Sevilla and the bad thing was that he kept saying "No penalty,no penalty",I wonder why UEFA let Premier League referees in such finals, they are not fit for when two teams of other nations play each other as they are used to another type of football in the Premier League,I am not saying they should not manage a final but not such type of referees who made the game go a different way.

I agree with you that they shouldn't use that kind of referee in a final because both teams will be focused on winning the league and will do whatever it takes to do so. Roma was very serious in the game yesterday because they knew Sevilla had the desire to win the Europa League. The first goal convinced me that Roma was fully prepared to defeat Sevilla; the only thing Sevilla has was luck.
Roma really played well, and even Sevilla will believe that they just got lucky to win the game, therefore it is not terrible that they didn't win the game since the game is either you win or you lose.

I also saw Rome had played well enough but even though in the end Roma lost through the penalty shootout that would not make the defeat embarrassing, because the defeat through penalties did not look embarrassing, congratulations to Sevilla
I do agree with it. Roma has a chance to win the game but mancini has been ruining it. It's sevilla's luck. Roma must accept if sevilla is again winning europa league for the seventh time.
Roma didn't have strong mentality when it comes to the penalty against sevilla.

Roma were unlucky. Otherwise, an experienced player like Gianluca Mancini would not have made such a big mistake in such an important match. It was a ridiculous mistake. And Mancini shouldn't be blamed for that. He did not understand the movement of the ball properly. However, Roma's performance was quite good. But still, they can't win. It was Roma's misfortune. However, with Sevilla's performances this season, they deserve the title. The performance of Sevilla's players in the final was impressive.
Undoubtedly, Roma were the better side in that final match last night and if not for Mancini's huge mistake, Roma would've won the game in normal time.
That being said, I'm yet to understand the reason behind the Anthony Taylor's(the referee) decision not to had awarded Roma that penalty because from the footage, it's very obvious that it was a penalty. I saw a video clip of where Jose Mourinho went to confront the referee after the game because of his unsatisfactory officiating of the match. UEFA needs to do better in calling referees to other in situations like that

The mental readiness of the players was tested at the time of the penalty and indeed this is definitely a little difficult to do, especially with the physical condition of being drained for 120 minutes and with conditions of tension, things like this are quite difficult.
But anyway it's a very good final and worth watching and congrats to Sevilla who won it and saved them to be back in the Champions League next season.

Sevilla, who could not get what he wanted from the beginning of the league in La Liga, again won the European league cup and thus qualified to go to UCL. Congratulations to Sevilla. It is amazing that they can win this trophy even in such a bad season. Roma had a position to smash Sevilla into the player's hand. They objected a lot because no penalty was given there. It was one of their most critical positions. We watched a good match.
The match conditions are quite complex and interesting but of course there must be 1 winner when the final is held and at the moment Sevilla is the one who deserves it. Now they are back on track and it's like they are alive again because of course with the condition of a pretty tough opponent from the quarter final in the Europa League and even though many doubted Sevilla before (including me) but they succeeded and deserve to be appreciated now.

Sevilla dominated every section of the field, while AS Roma were simply defending their territory since the pressure increases when Paulo Dybala scores a decisive goal. José Mourinho's men were never able to complete the final stages. Of course, penalty shootouts are an event that any player can miss; it is not expected that all players will net a penalty. Sevilla is a top team with outstanding players, and they are keen to win the UEL trophy, which they do. Jose Mourinho's side succumbed to the Spanish side in penalty shootouts, a tough encounter that left fans hoping for tough finals the next season.

The statistic said the different thing. Sevilla was not able doing pressure to the as roma as it was making so many inaccurate shoots. Mancini was helping sevilla to win against roma. The fact that if roma's attack is far effective even it was less compared with roma.
Sevilla is performing so well when it was playing in the penalty stage. Bounou has become the savior for sevilla and some players of as roma were not able to properly shooting the ball.

Bounou's performance is very good during the penalty stage. He was able predicting the ball accurately, unlike roma's goal keeper. Patricio's performance was so bad but im also blaming roma's players for their mistake.
They were not having focus when executing the penalty. It seems like that the draw make all of them lose their confidence to won the game.
Sevilla is making its record become even longer.

I must agree with this! As Roma played way better than Sevilla but in the end , Sevilla is still the queen of Europa League.

Now , my conclusion on this game is that , Anthony the referee , had 2 clearly penalties to award and he decided to simply ignore it and that is where the game was lost from his side because both teams were against it with As Roma having a bigger problem against him than Sevilla.

Penalties...was pure lottery but I must agree with Mourinho that he and his team were betrayed by the referee.
It made this match not look fair and harmed Roma, in this controversy because Roma had to get a penalty that was not given by the referee. As Mourinho pointed out outside the stadium, they were spreading harsh words to the referees. Personally, I wouldn't blame him though, as the ref has carefully checked the VAR. Then despite Roma's fatigue, I admit that Sevilla managed to end the match with a shootout where Bono became Sevilla's Star of the game. There is something unique in that Gonzalo Montiel's decisive goal was Sevilla's victory and he was also the decisive goal of Argentina's World Cup win.

From the beginning of the match, there was an equal game, but after Roma managed to score, Sevilla began to dominate. It was to be expected that Mourinho would want to keep the winning score, but against Sevilla it was dangerous to huddle up against one's goal. The match turned out to be good, everything is in the best traditions of the final, extra time, penalties, and Sevilla wins again, this trend is already a little annoying. )

The referee, of course, screwed up with a penalty, it was a clear game of hands in the penalty area.

I have never had confidence in England refs to be given such a prestigious match to officiate. That ref wasn't professional and he missed upto 3 penalties and couldn't award them. Mourinho also said it during his press conference.  I don't know why it is difficult for a ref to stop play, check var and award penalty.
I wonder who will official the Champions League finals, this kind of errors shouldn't be tolerated at all if actually we should be taking UEFA seriously this time around.

Mourinho and his players failed to get the Europa League title and I'm sure Mourinho is under pressure more than any other person because of his performance in Roma and none can defend the results he got during this season.
Sevilla won the game however they won the penalty kicks but the fact about Sevilla is they won the Europa League for 7th and this can be a record for them because during this season they won the Europa League while they were in a bad situation and they could take a good place in La Liga.
Roma lose will really make Mourinho feel bad because winning the europa league was a target for him but roma failed to win. Sevilla winning europa league again is a great achievement,  Sevilla is not in their best performance this season but they still used their experience,  putting much effort to win Europa league. I so much  love the energy Sevilla has put in europa league,  they just believed the championship must be achieved and they made it at last.
it was a very fierce game and Sevilla was a bit lucky in this game.
whatever the result, I salute the struggle of the AS Roma team and also against Jose Maurinho, he managed to show a very good performance in the final.
but I regretted the referee's decision a little in this match, there were several moments which in my opinion were very detrimental to the AS Roma team, the handball incident in the Seville player's penalty box and also the penalty being repeated.
I'm just a little disappointed.
but that's the reality, Sevilla are still the kings of the European League, congrats to them.

Previously, Mourinho was able to bring his team 5 times to the finals of various cups and always took the trophy, so we can say that the main trump card of Roma is just Jose Mourinho and probably Dibala.
Everyone knows that Jose Mourinho is one of the most successful coaches in Europe so far. Roma have him, that is Roma's advantage so far and he has a myriad of title-related accomplishments that I will not be counting on my fingers. But after all, no coach will be able to guarantee the title including Mourinho, but of course he will do whatever he can so that Roma can win it. I respect Mourinho, but I don't think it's worth underestimate Jose Luis Mendilibar's chances with Sevilla.

Both teams seem to be very careful in their build-up, but I think Sevilla will take a lot of space to apply pressure from the first half. Roma defended well in the second leg against Leverkusen, but today Sevilla are different team. It will be interesting to see which of these two teams will win the Europa League title today.
Roma ruined Jose Mourinho's stats. For him it is the first time he has lost a final. Even if on penalties, but still it is a loss. Dybala tried, but alone could not pull Roma out, plus in the second half Sevilla pulled together and scored the return goal. I must say that Roma had the feeling that they didn't want to play soccer, as if it was not a final, but an ordinary match. Roma played sluggish, hard and if Sevilla played more relaxed, they could have beaten Roma in regulation time, and so both teams have not created many chances, with Roma goal by Dibala and a dangerous strike by Belotti, and Sevilla hit by Rakitic and scored an own goal by Mancini, who then did not score a penalty.

In general, the lack of desire to play soccer played a cruel joke on Roma, although all the goals in regulation time were scored by Roma.

Sevilla has a better champion mentality than Rome and that is why Roma played a little awkwardly which should be able to lead from the beginning but Sevilla finally managed to equalize the score, Roma made a suicide goal error from the defender Gianluca Mancini
So that eventually makes the score draw. If Roma plays more defense, the results might not be a draw.
The own goal from mancini has been triggering the mental down from the as roma. It played so well since the first half but it's having a horrible performance when it came to the penalty.
It seemed to me that roma's keeper is not having the ability to play in the penalty as he was always wrongly predicting where the ball will be going on.

Roma's players were also horribly executing the penalty.

I also saw Rome had played well enough but even though in the end Roma lost through the penalty shootout that would not make the defeat embarrassing, because the defeat through penalties did not look embarrassing, congratulations to Sevilla

Considering Mourinho managed to become a very accomplished coach he even has titles as a coach who won four domestic trophies in four different countries.
With Roma under coach Mourinho I believe they will also get the UEFA Europa League trophy this season.
Sevilla are like the landlords of Europa and I see them making this their seventh win to retain the title hold. Some are in support of Mourinho's men carrying it, praising his stellar performance and all, but if he was so special, he should have won the Italian Serie A. I believe he'd have to remove his sights from this one. Although I'm not against him putting up a very good fight, since he knows how to do that very well. But in all, it'd go to Sevilla. I see this game ending in 1-0 in Sevilla's favor.
Damn it sure Seville managed to defend the title this season.
Actually the two teams played quite well in the first and second rounds because they managed to maintain a 1 - 1 draw and continued on penalties until it ended 4 - 1 with Sevilla winning.
I'm sure many gamblers have made big profits and also big losses in the UEFA Europa League finals this season.
But congratulations to Sevilla for the title they got.

Sevilla also played very well in the final. Sevilla's performance was not good until the round of 16. But still, they managed to stabilize the team. and able to resolve internal team issues. And Sevilla dominated the quarter-finals and semi-finals brilliantly. They continued their dominance in the finals as well. Their performance against Roma was good. They did a lot of attacks. But can't score any goals. Still, they managed to become champions. There is no way to say that the Roma team performed poorly. Roma played well enough. But luck was not with them. Hopefully next season Roma management will take proper steps to strengthen their team.

Maybe Jose Mourinho really believes the strategy he used to apply and was quite successful in previous matches will also give good results
It worked fine just before an own goal from Mancini. It is unlucky for Roma and lucky for Sevilla to have that goal. As without that lucky goal, I don't know will Sevilla can break Roma defense.

Quote
not preparing his team for the worst scenario, namely penalty shootouts because penalty shootouts often make any team even when they are considered the favorite team will be seen very weak in penalty shootouts because it's also very mentally involved and a lot of good players fail as penalty takers because the pressure is so great in games like this.
I don't think Mourinho wanted to solve this final in penalty shootouts. In last 15 minutes, he sent some attacking players in to find a winning goal but those minutes were broken into pieces with injured time. I think Mourinho wanted to keep Matic for penalty but the player just failed to stay till the last minute. Same for Pellegrini who was replaced because he was too tired.

El Sharawy can be another player who shoot for Roma but his turn never comes.

Quote
But it's true what you said when the match was only done once so he should as an experienced coach be aware of unexpected things that might happen such as a match that must be decided by a penalty shootout, it's a shame Rome's first 3 kickers failed so Sevilla whose players perfectly executed it could become European league champion.
Mancini is a good choice for penalty in theory but he failed and I only disagree with Ibanez who should not chosen for penalty.

Quote
But I don't really agree with the word luck because what Sevilla achieved was because they fought and again the opponent didn't take into account what they could do in the final.
Sevilla made good penalties and they deserve to win in penalties but if look to 120 minutes before penalties, they were lucky. Roma deserve to lose because they shot penalties too bad.
