I also believe that Real Sociedad didn't deserve that penalty. I accept that Martinez's arm wasn't next to his body but the ball came from his leg to the arm. Martinez had nothing to do in that kind of situation as it wasn't on purpose. The decision was too harsh as a result. I can say the same thing for the penalty Ronaldo was expecting to be given as well. He also fell too easily and it was obvious that he did it himself. I didn't see the defender pulling his shirt etc..
Even though Martinez's situation was checked by VAR the decision still didn't change. I really don't understand how they can make this kind of mistakes while there is a very useful system like this.
