It is not easy to keep up with a good record just like what Leverkusen are doing now. It takes a very strong and deligent team to remain unbeaten despite their participation in various competitions. Leverkusen have shown their good quality again tonight as they continue to maintain their unbeaten record by winning Roma away from home. 2-0 is a good advantage for them in the second leg at home.
The record Leverkusen is trying to maintain at this point in time is such that is actually not easy to maintain at all and I can say for sure that they are actually trying a d are doing the very best they can do, from the beginning of the season no one has expected this much from them because they have always taught they aren't a strong team enough to be able to get such records a d all they have gotten is just but average results.

The fact that they were an average team and now been coached by a new and very young Coach was another factor that was been put to consideration that made the expectations on them was actually lowered because it was looking like an average team with such a young coach who's taking up such a job for the first time is  most definitely going to do poorly but then the thing that first drew attention to them was their ability to staying unbeaten in a long time, which has further be maintained tillt hei day and has given them even more attention than they had a earlier.

I think this record could possibly get to give Leverkusen more fans as many people will definitely get to want to be associated with the success they are seeing much more than the one they may. E hoping for and the fact that they are birthing a new era in the bundesliga where team are now having a level fair grounds to play is another huge factor to consider well enough to be able to give more accolades to Leverkusen.
You have actually made an elaborated but true reality of how the Leverkusen team had started with in this season and of a truth our former view towards them at the beginning is totally of a different one at this point as they have proven to be a team to be reckoned with when talking about the German Bundesliga.

They have come out in a formidable form that had made the Bundesliga most competitive this season than we have seen in many years and had not failed to extend this performance consistently even in the Europa league competition. And am fascinated to say that they are a very favourite aide in this Europa competition to win the title this season. More so, am positive we will see more of this about them when they eventually play in the European champions league competition come next season.

Here the Europe League semifinal result matches for first leg

  • Roma 0 vs 2 Leverkusen
  • Marseille 1 vs 1 Atalanta

Leverkusen secure the winning capital on the first leg math behind two goals and make easily at second leg match playing on home one step closer to final round. Leverkusen still defend the unbeaten matches in Europe League and all competition and seems get final round for next on second leg match without loss yet their appearance in Europe League until reach to final stage.

Atalanta make another impressive performance after eliminating Liverpool as most favorite team will lead to final round, being draw against Marseille and good achievement for away match. Atalanta will most offensive on second leg with home match and making the first history appearance teams for Europe League participants success reach to final round.
With these results, a dream for Italian final match in Europa League looks unrealistic and only Atalanta seems to have good chance to join the final match. They get a good result home away and their opponent is not too strong.

With Roma, a defeat at home with two goal difference is very bad and with what Leverkusen shown through this season and in the first leg match, Roma have very small chance to beat Leverkusen in the second leg. And beating Leverkusen with two goal difference looks unrealistic task for Roma. They will have a big match with Juventus in Serie A this weekend before return to Europa League next week and will not have good preparation for that match.

There is still no stopping Bayer Leverkusen unbeatable dominance either in the Bundesliga or in the European League. In my opinion, with this great strength, Leverkusen could end the season brilliantly and break a record that has never been done by any European team. Xabi Alonso made this team the strongest team, with a minimum player composition but seemed to be full of star players. Based on history, Leverkusen's players are filled with loan players and free transfers, where these players were considered bad in the previous team, but at Leverkusen with Xabi they can actually complement each other.

Roma, whose condition this season can be said to be extraordinary, with De Rossi in this match, cannot provide any surprises. Even the Leverkusen players really enjoyed themselves, as seen before playing and were optimistic that they could win. Originally I had hopes that Roma could stop Leverkusen's dominance but in reality that didn't materialize. Maybe I have too much hope for Roma in today's match.

For Roma, Dybala doesn't seem to be on the pitch. Lukaku is trying to do something on his own. Pellegrini and Cristante are nowhere to be seen. I wonder what kind of a speech De Rossi gave. Let's see what will change in the second half.
There is time in the game for Roma, they have such a good record at home, their supporters will not be expecting any result less than a draw. Bayer Leverkusen used their speed a lot on Roma, and it was a problem, Roma in this second half have settled better into the game and have successfully been able to close down some opportunities that Bayer Leverkusen are creating to force a second goal. Roma has to be careful defending however that as they try to get an equaliser, so that they do not allow Bayer Leverkusen the chance to counter-attack.

Unfortunately Roma has disappointed their fans on this one as they are still been held to a 0:2 defeat by Bayer Leverkusen with the game almost coming to an end, 90+ and still counting and nothing is changing so far, Roma had little domina  in the ball possession but Leverkusen got got more of the goal attempts, goal scored and more number of chances created, there's no way AS Roma is going to survive this defeat again because I think it's all over for them at home and the better team has overcomed them right now but they still have the opportunity to make things right when they visit Leverkusen in Germany for the second leg.

Bayer Leverkusen have recorded 47th unbeaten games this season which i consider them as the most strongest team of the season, i said it earlier that this unbeaten record alone creates more tension for Leverkusen's opponents not to concentrate on their game, only few understands how to tackle them, AS Roma have tried their best but just that it doesn't work out and by the way this is not the first AS Roma faces home defeat and again i consider this season to be for Bayer Leverkusen, so i advice AS Roma fan should still exercise patience to start a fresh season with De Rossi to be at the top, i also consider second leg will be for Bayer Leverkusen because they are playing at BayArena which we all know that it's away game for AS Roma, i don't see any hope for AS Roma to defeat Bayer Leverkusen at BayArena in their second leg.

On the other hand Marseille 1-1 Atalanta ended up draw, with the Marseille previous Europa games they are just being lucky up to this stage, but checking their matches the always took advantage of their home to move to the next stage of the competition, but this particular game is different because the draw in the first leg right at Orange Velodrome, i will not conclude yet but i think Marseille will not get to the final, Atalanta will eliminate them.

Xabi Alonso's men continued their unbelievable and incredible performance last night as they extended their unbeaten run to 47 in all competitions this season. Playing away at AS Roma, I was thinking that the best they could get was leaving the Stadio Olympico with a draw and my opinion was borne out of how improved the Roma team have been under the tutelage of their current manager Daniele De Rossi who took over the club's managerial position after Jose Mourinho was sacked earlier this season but that wasn't the case. Bayer Leverkusen were able to a 2:0 win against Roma away from home so in my opinion, that tie have already been decided.
The other UEFA Europa League semi final game between Marseille and Atalanta, I think the tie is still very much open because none of the two sides were able to get a win in the first leg. However, Atalanta has a better advantage of advancing to the final of the competition because they'll be playing the second leg at home

The first leg of the Europa League presented an extraordinary result for Leverkusen who competed away from home even though Roma has a good record in the Europa League but I have to admit that Leverkusen's record is better than Roma, they have a good mentality to become champions this season. I think the first leg will achieve results draw the reason is that Roma is not a weak club and has strong ambitions in the European League and can take advantage of the opportunity to create a large aggregate when playing at home, but in fact Roma was unable to score and conceded 2 goals to Leverkusen. The extraordinary performance of Xabi Alonso's men was still better than foster child of Daniele De Rossi.

Meanwhile other semifinal match Marseille with Atalanta only achieved a draw but at least Atalanta remains the favorite to advance to the final, I think the clubs that will advance to the final are Leverkusen and Atalanta. I see these two clubs have a bigger chance of advancing to the final, for It is clear that Leverkusen will qualify. While for Atalanta they have a big chance to beat Marseille in the second leg when they play at home, against Marseille it is not a big challenge for Atalanta because they are able to beat Liverpool they should be able to do it against Marseille.

Bayer Leverkusen still maintains their story of being untouched by defeat since the start of the season, this time Roma became victims of their prowess after winning 2-0 at the Olimpico. Leverkusen has again shown all clubs not to underestimate them this season, their winning record in 47 matches is proof that the team coached by Xabi Alonso is very difficult to beat.

Leverkusen transformation is truly extraordinary, after winning their first title this season, they still maintain their chances of being Treble winners after taking one step closer to becoming Europa League champions. Maintaining a stable team performance in 47 matches is not an easy job that can be done by all coaches, especially since this record was set by a club whose background has never won a prestigious competition for a long time.

I think it doesn't really matter, football fans just want to see firsthand the way Xabi Alonso manages Leverkusen and the way they play on the field, one thing that benefits Leverkusen is only increasing ticket sales when they play home games. There are no premature fans who suddenly want to be part of Leverkusen because long before Leverkusen appeared as impressive as it is now, they had been loyal fans of other clubs.

Atalanta always manages to qualify for the next round, although previously Atalanta played against Liverpool but Atalanta still managed to qualify for the semifinals. Although in this first leg semifinal Atalanta only got a draw against Marseille but still, Atalanta will still have a very good chance for the second leg later because Atalanta will also play at home. But, it is not about Atalanta playing at home because anyway, Marseille can be said to be a bad team for away matches throughout this season and therefore, Atalanta will still have a good chance in the second leg later. About AS Roma, I personally have said that AS Roma really has no chance against Bayer Leverkusen because it is clear, that Bayer Leverkusen is really an extraordinary team this season and Bayer Leverkusen deserves to get the trophy.

If you look at Atalanta, it is a team that have history and a team that have some good records back then, but like in past decade, they are not in good form and they dropped to a team below average. I was not surprised as they defeated Liverpool and I will not be surprised if they defeated Marseille in the second leg.

Leverkusen has another good chance to bag another trophy in their gallery this season which is a good achievement for Alonso to add more recognition to his performance and he will definitely get a bigger team if he decides to leave even though he has announced that he will be staying at Leverkusen for another season.
Although Atalanta are not as good as they used to be, the current performance they are showing in the Europa League is really exciting. It's interesting that they beat Liverpool to reach the semi-finals and here they had a great performance against Marseille as both teams played well enough to draw in the 1st leg. Although the 2nd leg will be more interesting at present, both teams are likely to make it to the finals and each will try their best.

With Leverkusen in the current state of excitement, we can all say for sure that they have another Europa League and a chance to win the trophy. Leverkusen got a great win at home against Roma in a really aggressive match. However, the most interesting team we have seen this season is Leverkusen and they do not have the highest chance of winning the trophy. And I think this season Leverkusen will be able to win two trophies, the Europa League and the Bundesliga, of course these two trophies are in their hands.

Leverkusen certainly is a much better team than Roma. The game was played on Roma's home ground in Rome. Leverkusen played really well with good attacks scoring a goal in 28th minute and the second in 73rd. After the 2nd goal they rightly got defensive and let Roma test their defense. But Roma failed to score a single goal even though they were aggressive at the end. The 2nd leg played next week too would result in similar condition and Leverkusen would go on winning this Europa League Title. Whoever wins between Atalanta and Marseille would be easily defeated by Leverkusen.
Yes that's right. Whichever team passes to the final, be it Atalanta or Marseille, for Leverkusen there is no problem, they will still be champions of the European League this season because Leverkusen's current performance is very trustworthy and very difficult to beat. The reason is that Roma, who was said to be going to break Leverkusen's unbeaten record in the first leg, ultimately failed and of course in the second leg, victory again went to Leverkusen.

Moreover, in the first leg, Bayer Leverkusen managed to beat AS Roma with a convincing score of 2-0. And this match extended Leverkusen's unbeaten record to 47 matches in all competitions, this is a fantastic record. I imagine this season they will get the Treble and of course will continue to maintain their unbeaten record until the end of the season.

Roma was so dumb. It played offensively away from home, while Leverkusen chose to play defensively against it. The situation could be different if Roma played defensively, as Mourinho did in the away game. This is why Mourinho isn't even comparable to de Rossi. The club's winning mentality existed while Mourinho was still coaching Roma.
Did you miss that the first leg is at Roma's home stadium, not Leverkusen's home stadium?

Roma did not play too attacking, I can say so, and they did got chance to score first but unluckily, Lukaku's headshot hits the bar. Minutes later, a personal mistake of Rick is a turning point of the match. Leverkusen opened the match with it and after that, the match becomes more easily for them. If Leverkusen completed their chances better, Roma would have gotten more than 2 conceded goals in this match.

The second leg will be very difficult for Roma and they wasted a very last chance in the match to reduce difficulty if Tammy can score a goal. Now, they still have a second leg to fight but their task is very heavy.

Roma have their opportunities but it's not their match and Leverkusen get a fantastic second goal from Andrich. At the very end, Tammy Abraham wasted an opportunity to score a goal for Roma. That goal, if scored, will be important for Roma hope in a second match but now, no goal at all.

With a defeat 0 -2 at home stadium, Roma will have to move to Germany and have a mountain to climb through. If it is only one goal difference, Roma can hope to do something but with two goal difference like this, chance for them to equalize aggregated result is very small.
It's quite unfortunate, really a bad result for Roma. Because it's true, Roma had that opportunity, not even a few opportunities to score goals and they also dominated, right? why they can't even do it. Yes, because Leverkusen's defense is also that strength which makes it difficult for Roma to attack more intensely and be strong in their defense. And again, Leverkusen's record is still unbeaten until right now. Maybe that means that Xabi is increasingly successful in leading the club in football, right?

The club's winning mentality existed while Mourinho was still coaching Roma.
That is in contrast to the current situation, in which De Rossi is appointing the club. He is always overconfident about playing fully offensively against his opponent. It's kind of stupid because the away game is about how well you defend against your opponents.

That's why Roma gets such a bad outcome. De Rossi is unsure whether he was facing a strong opponent, and he remains overconfident in his club. I believe Roma may perform better under Mourinho in this type of situation.
It's because Mourinho understood that the club needed to play parking bus in order to get a good result in an away game like this. Shit happens to Roma because De Rossi was always following his ego.

It's a terrible decision to play offensively against Leverkusen.

They have not tasted defeat in all competitions this season, thereby becoming the team in Europe with the longest unbeaten streak in the 21st century. Not stopping there, if they continue not to lose in the next match, Leverkusen will officially equal the unbeaten record created by Benfica from 1963 to 1965.
Indeed, Frankfurt will be the next opponent in the Bundesliga that Leverkusen will face. If they win or at least draw, then that will really level up the record from Benfica, right?

It is incredible how far Bayer Leverkusen have gone in different leagues so far. They won 1.Bundesliga few rounds before its end, throwing Bayern Munich from their thrown since a decade. They are playing good and won against Roma with two goals although playing away, and they are a furious contender for the title. Without forgetting the new unbeaten record that the team wants to break! I wish them good luck, it was well merited.

Atalanta is a big name team in the past but have lost their glory days hopefully they can bring them back now. They’ve come this far in the Europa League this season and has to eliminate Liverpool, that was a big surprise to all. They are not the best in their league but they’re doing bravely well in the European competition, this is a commendable one from them. I see them to be the team for the finals of the Europa league and not Marseille even if the first leg was tied.

Bayern Leverkusen just can’t stop winning again, let them be giving the trophy right away because they deserve it more than any team in the competition now. What an amazing achievement from them this season, unbeaten in all competitions and still winning their first trophy in the Bundesliga. They are still within the reach of this trophy too, so I expect them to also win this amongst others this season.

Ah, surely Xabi will be thinking about this a lot, because he is only 1 game away from going over, and they can't break this before it happens. In the next match, Xabi will definitely try even more optimally to keep his defense stronger and optimize all chances of winning. Because with this, Leverkusen will really succeed in achieving and leveling its record and much more, to surpass and get the new one again.

Source: Leverkusen record

I believe that if next season they are sponsored to buy players, they will be just like the big clubs in Europe. They will make the whole world pay attention to them. Coach Xabi Alonso needs some money in the transfer window. He will know the impossible comes true.
Yes, several players who were targeted by Xabi for market transfers next season have been left behind. One of them is that they want to bring in Rafa Marin from Real Madrid.
https://thehardtackle.com/transfer-news/2024/04/25/xabi-alonso-wants-bayer-leverkusen-to-sign-rafa-marin/

Apart from wanting to get some of the players Xabi is targeting, there are many big clubs who are also increasingly interested in Leverkusen players and have even started to target him. And will Leverkusen really let them go, for several purposes, including getting other targeted players? Yes, because from now on, Leverkusen must be a bigger and bigger club. as well as competition in much bigger events.

I would have preferred to see Liverpool at this stage of the competition other than Atalanta. I watched them play today and just wondered if it were the same team that ended Liverpool from the first leg with over 4goals. They played rather poorly today, couldn’t constitute proper attacks neither were they able to make much out of there forward play. I think O. Marseille played better football today and pressured Atalanta real nice. Too bad they weren’t able to seal the deal and that might turn out to be their undoing when they go to play Atalanta at their home.

Bayer Leverkusen on the other hand is a team you could trust to win against AS Roma. AS Roma haven’t been in its best form and with Bayer Leverkusen haven’t won there  league already, they’ve got all their focus in the Europa and did beat Roma to a 2 nil win easily.

Roma's away win gives Leverkusen a significant advantage before the semi-final second leg at home and helps them extend their unbeaten streak to 47. Leverkusen is aiming for a historic treble with coach Xabi Alonso when they have won the national championship, reached the National Cup final, and, most likely, the Europa League. Coach Xabi Alonso's team still shows that the team is becoming more and more complete and may be aiming to be unbeatable this season.
