Real Betis are through last 16 round once again indeed. It has become pretty much a habit for them in the recent years as well. I think this is still a major difference between the Europa League and the Champions League. What Sevilla has done in the Europa League last season given how they played in La Liga, is a very rare occurrence. There have been teams not doing that well in their leagues, but still did quite well in the Champions League. But the way that Sevilla was winning round after round in the Europa League while struggling in La Liga so hard that they temporarily had to be thinking about the relegation zone, I think this is not something I have seen happening in the Champions League.

I did not expect Sevilla to do particularly well in the Champions League for that reason. At some point if a team is constantly fighting quality battles, it is because they don't have enough of it and in the Champions League, having quality is a must.

Sevilla playing in the Europa League will no longer surprise us; they always play in this competition and always dominate it over all other teams who compete in it. After winning the Europa League last season and receiving automatic qualification to the Champions League, I expected them to play and perform incredibly well in the Champions League, just as they did in the Europa League. Their chances of qualifying are very slim because they wasted some opportunity that would have given them an advantage. Due to the number of talented clubs that will compete if they return to the Europa League, it will be a highly intriguing competition to watch at the knockout stage of the competition. For Liverpool and Leverkusen, they seem to be a very dominant team in the competition so far and are also worthy of winning the Europa League title amongst the number of many teams involved in the competition.

Liverpool team is very strong. Liverpool's defeat against Toulouse in the last match was a completely unexpected result. None of us were prepared for such an outcome. Winning europa league must be a good achievement caused by it will give liverpool one of important trophy and UCL spot freely without needed to fight even harder for the EPL trophy. Klopp shall have targeted europa league this season but the club needs to put more effort caused by there will be some strong clubs that is going to prevent it to happen soon. People rarely mentioning roma in this competition.

They seem forgot with what achieved by roma. This club is strong enough to win europa league this season. Liverpool is going to have some strong competitors.

Indeed. Liverpool and Leverkusen are the most favorite teams to win Europa League title this season. I really hope these teams will be in the final round, it will be an ideal final. Liverpool has a strong squad, their squad quality have been proven enough, they even can beat Man City in EPL. Sure, Liverpool has the capability to beat any team but unfortunately they sometimes do unnecessary mistakes and it leads to the losses. Sometimes, Liverpool players play underperformance, especially their attackers. If they can play consistently and avoid the mistakes, no doubt Liverpool will win this competition this season.

The confidence is a bit odd I agree because being confident about winning a title requires a remarkable performance across all competitions with essentially zero mistakes all the way. Liverpool has had some problems in the Premier League although they are doing well at the moment, but they have also lost a game in the Europa League. It wasn't the most important game, but still a team that people are confident in winning the Europa League at this early stage of the competition should also pay attention to the little things and not give away a game in the Europa League like they did against Toulouse. This can also happen if the game is more serious against a stronger opponent.

This is true. Ever since Boniface was signed in Leverkusen he has performed very well. It surprised me a lot how he was able to adopt to the team play and the country lifestyle. I mean why wouldn't they, Liverpool is doing great at EPL too, and that is even harder to be fair, if you ask me which one is harder to win europa or premier league then I would say premier league. Liverpool is by far the best team here and that's not even that close, they are like twice as good as the closest team to them, so to think that they will win is not a crazy thought.

There isn't a single team that can beat them right now, we will have to wait and see how it will goes but I think it is going to be quite good. I hope that we are going to end up with a situation that will be a bit different when the teams from UCL comes here, that will definitely may include some teams that may put Liverpools changes at risk.

I hope that won't happen and it would be a shame if the two candidates to win the European League this season meet early. But if that really happened, I think it would be crazy and it would be certain that one of them would be difficult to stop until the final round of the European League. The arrival of several teams from the Champions League might make the competition more exciting but that will not change the existing advantage and either Liverpool or Leverkusen should be able to beat the strong teams that were eliminated from the Champions League without any problems.

These two team so far have been tops in their performance and results in both their domestic league and the Europa league so far where they both top their group and Leverkusen topping both their group and their domestic league but Liverpool is at second position I their domestic league which isn't a bad one too.

I just have a feeling both team may meet at the finals this season but before then they may meet after the group stage, na do have for some fears that other teams who will be joining from the champions league would most likely be some kind of problem to them because they look stronger than the other teams back in the Europa as there are only but a few good teams in the Europa the others could be seen as average team, for me the main game begins after the group stage.

Maybe Boniface is the most productive striker now but he isn't the only productive player in the team anyway. For example Grimaldo (6 goals) and Hofmann (5 goals) have also been really productive as for scoring goals.  

Schick's absence is really bad for Leverkusen indeed. But Xabi Alonso has built such an amazing system that the team are still playing very amazingly. The teamwork is so strong that they are still scoring many goals in most of the matches they play and getting comfortable wins. Maybe sometimes they can drop in form but I don't think it would last long with a system like this.

It's true that I also feel that the competition in the European League this season is quite tight. Overall, teams like Laverkusen show fairly stable performance in the two best competitions they participate in, the Bundesliga and the Europa League.
