This is possibly one of the worst finals, Atalanta was perfect from the start of the game till the final whistle. Leverkusen lost because they felt really confident they are going to win the game even while Atalanta was winning by 2 goals to nail they still felt relaxed instead of attempting to score goals. Leverkusen was busy with unnecessary passes, I am really disappointed from what they did, this is final and one player has a hatrick and having lost the game in zero goals, ruining their long unbeaten streak, this is turns out to be the best they can offer. At this point nothing else can be done, Congratulations to Atalanta for securing the Europa League title as the champions of this season.

Obviously no one expected that Leverkusen was beaten by 3 goals if it was just one goal maybe we could consider it luck but if 3 goals then it is a crushing defeat, Ademola Lookman really impressed somehow they couldn't stop this player. Now I understand why Liverpool struggled when playing against Atalanta in the last match it turns out that teams like Leverkusen also have difficulty scoring goals because Atalanta has a tight defense.

By the way, this is a winning day for bookies I'm sure many gamblers lose when betting it's like they're in a trap actually I also thought the same thing that Leverkusen would win luckily I didn't watch this match because I was in other activities, if not, maybe I'm also in a trap. anyway congratulations to Atalanta, they were really impressive and surprising.

Bayer Leverkusen have gone 51 games unbeaten in all competitions but everything crashes down when they lost to Atalanta, congratulations to the winning club. There's always challenging opponents that shouldn't be underrated based on the shocking events that happens in the European world of football. Atalanta, the record breaker thrashed Bayer Leverkusen 3 nil in the Europa League final and we know how humiliating it can be for such a club that have fought hard enough to maintain the unbeaten run till this very crucial moment. Lookman is named MOTM after stepping out to be one of the incredible threats for Leverkusen, they did their best but it wasn't just good enough.

You are right because I also felt that this match would be drawn for 90 minutes of normal time and would continue with extra time and even penalties but this scenario had to be dashed when Ademola Lookman managed to ruffle the Leverkusen defense which is famous for their strength and indirectly in this match also Xabi had to taste their first defeat after several times being spared because he always managed to score at the end of the match.

This is clearly a result that will definitely make Xabi inflamed because after all they are the favorites in this match, besides that they are also the strongest candidate after Liverpool but instead a surprise occurred for the Europa League where previously there were names Villarreal, Franfurt, Sevilla and now Atalanta who managed to get the trophy and qualify directly convincingly to be in the Champions League next season.

You have actually analyzed their game well, Girmaldo and Firmpong  are one of their most important players and having such defenders who are very good offensively is a plus for the team but utilizing such players have it’s own disadvantages as well one being easily exposing their defense creating enough space for opposition to exploit because they are attacking most of the time and that’s why Alonso like to maintain a 3 men formation just to cover up for the wing backs. In games like this i wouldn’t advise Alonso to approach the game with this tactics because this is a final and the opponents will definitely come prepared for your style. The tactics failed and Atlanta was clearly the better side today and they deserved to win this game with the way they played. Leverkusen have had a fine season despite losing today and nothing have changed, i am disappointed because i wanted them to complete the season unbeaten. They still have one last final to play and i trust they wouldn’t mess with it.

Bayer Leverkusen defeat wasn't predictable for most people I assume then worse, they lost by three goals and unexpectedly it is a hattrick by Lookman..
The season of Bayer Leverkusen finished in a good manner in 1.Bundesliga and badly, very badly in fact in UEFA Europa League which is as important as the Bundesliga title. I don't know if they could maintain their excellent form in Bundesliga and how far they could get next season in UEFA Champions League!

Many people here disagreed with me when I posted the above, but I'm not going to rub it in your faces. I'm also surprised with the result and thought Leverkusen would do much better than that.
I expected that, in the best-case scenario for Atalanta, they could steal a win by one goal or win the penalty shootout. Instead, they've proven to the world that they are no pushovers and are force to be reckoned with.
I suspect the fact that Atalanta is still fighting in the Serie A (with 2 more games to go), while Bundesliga has already concluded, has a pretty big effect on the result. It could be that Bayer subconsciously went into the relaxed, post-season mode, while Atalanta didn't lose their rhythm.
It could also be that the German team convinced themselves a little too much that they were invincible, which was reinforced by all the experts, fans and odds makers, and lost that underdog energy they started the season with. There's nothing worse you can do in any competition than to start celebrating before the game begins.

What a nice performance by Atalanta players they have break Bayern Leverkusen unbeaten record since the beginning of the season, have come to an end tonight by Ademola Lookman, although with a 3 goals down the Nigeria player Lookman was man of the match and I really enjoyed the game because looking at Bayern Leverkusen performance since the beginning of the season one can not believe that Atalanta is going to won them in UEFA Europa league final.

Three goals from Lookman and I would say his goals are fantastic, he deserves to get this hat trick in a big match, Europa League final match. This is a big title for Atalanta after 61 years, so surely I have to congratulate Atalanta.

Before this match, people mostly underestimated Atatanta and they forgot that Atalanta beat Liverpool 0 - 3 even at Anfield stadium. They forgot that how many matches in this season, Leverkusen managed to come back at very late minutes and only magic can help them to maintain their unbeaten streak for too long with 51 matches.

I would actually say Leverkusen have weakness and can be beaten but it seems this season has support of destiny for them to be unbeaten. At the very end, it won't happen but I am not surprised with this result. 3 - 0 is not what I thought but I actually believed Atalanta can beat Leverkusen.

It’s by far an important game for him and his career, clearly a place to star and he sure did, he showed that he fits the bill. His first goal wasn’t very impressive given that, it was all about a matter of position and the defense didn’t check his shoulders properly, giving Lookman an opportunity to run in and take that shot.
His second goal however was absolutely amazing. It all started from a misplaced pass and he got lined to go solo, tried a couple of impressive moves to get himself a good sight at goal, went for the far corner and scored. He was just impressive.

It’s an awful way for Bayer Leverkusen to end their unbeaten runs. I had at least a consolation goal expectation of them but no, they couldn’t manage a single goal, even after conceiving 3 goals. They did good in the season but, Atalanta are Europa League champions now.

Leverkusen got to know what it feels like loosing a game tonight, I'm sure they didn't see this coming as it was actually obvious on their faces after the final whistle of the game, Atalanta happens to set a record as the first Italian team to ever win the Europa this season a d it's actually their first time ever getting to the finals and they were able to win the finals as well, only a few teams get to achieve such.

One mistake Xabi Alonso did in this game was with his substitutions, in the first half Leverkusen were lacking the capacity for creativity and they didn't have that very conscious defensive mindset and it got them conceding goals in the first half of the game, another substitution highlight is with Boniface, he's such a player that would have been given better play time in a games as this as he's become a vital player which is needed in such a critical time, he came in the second half and the left flank became very useful, a threat they would have given Atlanta since the first half of the game .

I blame this loss on Leverkusen and Xabi because they would have been able to avert it if they had pay attention to details, they should know that Atlanta is such a team that if they get to score first they do the rest of the game defending just dey like they did with Liverpool, Leverkusen should have learnt from that a d not allow them take the lead like a regular league game. It was a  deserving victory for Atlanta as they did and all inclusive defense and attack style of play.

The defeat was quite dramatic in this match because after all, apart from this being the first defeat after Leverkusen's streak of positive results without losing, they also lost in the final which made this a little depressing even though this was one way to complete their positive achievements by wanting to get the treble but with this defeat Leverkusen had to indirectly bury the dream of a treble winner and maintain their unbeaten record.

This result is not what I expected because in this match I am quite sure the match will be very fierce in the hunt for goals especially there is a desire from both teams to win but indeed with 3 goals scored by Lookman it really makes Leverkusen frustrated.

Congratulations to Atalanta who were not the favorites but managed to win this season but indeed this has always happened in recent years so I was not too surprised because I was even more surprised that Leverkusen lost with a striking score than Atalanta won the Europa League.

So that's the reason why it's never worth underestimating any of the teams in the final even if the other one has an impressive performance. Atalanta broke all predictions and they proved themselves not to be underestimated. I was surprised by what Atalanta had in this match, so I think Atalanta really deserved to win the title.

I saw great disappointment on Xabi Alonso's face throughout the match and it looked even worse when Ademola Lookman scored his third goal. Leverkusen and all its players have done their best, but the best team is certainly about who is able to take advantage of their opportunities well. Ademola Lookman deserved everything today, he is a hero.

Many people will surprised that Atalanta won this match because almost everyone had expected Bayern Leverkusen to be the team that would lift the Europa trophy, given how strong the team is, Leverkusen had been in such impressive form, remaining unbeaten both in their domestic league and throughout this Europa competition, leading everyone to believe that they would surely win today's match.

In a surprising turn of events, Atalanta emerged victorious, not only winning the game but doing so in a dominant by not allowing Bayern Leverkusen to score even a single goal, which is truly astonishing and something nobody had anticipated, especially considering the final score was a decisive 3-0 in favor of Atalanta. I am very happy for Atalanta for winning this Europa trophy, they really put in a tremendous effort and they genuinely deserve this victory.  many people who bet on the match will likely lose today because their predictions probably may went wrong.

Leverkusen failed in the final, of course it was very painful because they were very favorites but it was very difficult for them to provide fierce resistance to Atalanta. On one hand, this was the first defeat experienced by Leverkusen but it was a great shame that they lost in the final. Apart from that, Alatanta managed to set a record after they managed to beat Leverkusen in the final match, they succeeded in achieving their long wait to become European League champions this season. Alatanta fans are of course very happy, especially since their idol team is one of the teams that managed to break Leverkusen's winning trend.

Lookman performed quite well as he managed to score two goals in the early minutes which put pressure on his opponent's mentality after Atalanta took a two goal lead. This season European League trophy was successfully brought home by the Serie A team, which in the previous season saw Sevilla become champions after defeating Roma. Of course, Atalanta success makes fans of various in Serie A teams proud because last season Roma failed to do so, but this season Atalanta succeeded in winning the European League trophy. Alatanta has shown its best strength after they beat Liverpool and that has given a sign that Atalanta will succeed in becoming champions and that has become a reality.

Atalanta was able to create a record for themselves today, as they are the first Italian club to win Europa League, amd they were also the only club that was able to defeat Leverkusen this season and destroyed their unbeaten record in all competitions.

Atalanta really showed a good defense and was able to use their game pattern to outsmart Leverkusen and win the finals on a clean sheet. I lost my bet and I am not worried over that because I appreciate Atalanta's performance so it was a big surprise to see the unbeaten Leverkusen who most people think that they are the favorite to win the league. Atalanta was able to eliminate the two clubs which people thought will be the winner of this season Europa league.

Ademola Lookman must have doubled his value by tonight. What a final game performance. For the first time in years, a player scored a hat-trick in a final.
Besides the 3 goals scored, Atalanta dominated Bayer Leverkusen with the way they played from the beginning to the end of the match. For the first time this season, Leverkusen played so badly that they couldn't enjoy the trophy they were swimming for all season long. Atalanta achieved a historic success. A week ago they lost in the final of the Coppa Italia, this time they won in a more important final. They deservedly take a big trophy to their museum.

The game has already ended and Atlanta won the league. For the first time, I was thinking Bayern Leverkusen would win the game, but at some points of the game, everything turned upside down. A big shout out to Ademola Lukman, who scored a hat trick for them and also made everything possible to win the game. However, I must congratulate Atlanta for this big achievement. This would be another big milestone for them. And it was over for Leverkusen, who lost in the final stage of the league. 


Seriously, Atlanta did a very good job today, and they broke the record that Bayern Leverkusen have been willing to keep for a very long time now. I believe they have been willing to keep this record the same as the Bundesliga, but unfortunately, Atlanta did not make that happen.

Leverkusen's defeat in the final once again emphasized that the favorite team is not always able to win even though they have the greatest unbeaten record. Atalanta managed to prove that everything many people had previously said was wrong, of course regarding the opportunities and insults directed at them.

There is no guarantee for any team to win the title in the final even if they previously had a good performance. Atalanta were just a good team on their way to the final this season, but they did not come into the final as favourites. But in the end, Atalanta succeeded in winning the Europa League title this season.

Bayern Leverkusen 52 matches unbeaten streak ended by Ademola Lookman

This was actually an interesting Europa League final to watch. Many people did not expect the result that came out this night whereas someone like me I have expected something like this. I was telling my friends that Xavi Alonso and his friends should not depend on the 90 minutes matra that it does not work in finals. I feel the greatest mistake of Xavi Alonso is that he refused to study the match between Atlanta and the Liverpool that got Liverpool eliminated from the Europa League. Liverpool actually underrated Atlanta in the first leg of their meeting and they paid darely for it.

I honestly feel pretty for Xavi Alonso and his boys, their  record needed not to be spoiled and they needed to win the Europa League. This is one among the greatest surprises that football can bring to us anytime any day. It is obvious that the sorrow of one man is the pleasure of another. While we feel sorry for Xavi and his boys who well deserved this trophy, another man known as Lookman has announced himself in a greater stage tonight.
