I guess that my concerns before the match were true(even though even I wasn't expecting this to happen).
Italian teams should never be underestimated and it was about damn time for the "51 games without a loss" record by Leverkusen to be broken.
Atalanta started the game in the best way possible, with two early goals, so they switched to a more defensive play with sharp counter attacks.
Bayer was not really concentrated in the first 30 minutes of the match, and they got punished. The German team had control over the ball, but their attacks weren't as dangerous as Atalanta's attacks. Congratulations to the Italian team.
I initially thought that Leverkusen would be able to equalize in that match. but I was really surprised because it was Atalanta who added two goals in the first half. After that I still couldn't believe Leverkusen would lose so easily. And I'm starting to think Leverkusen will make their usual incredible comeback.

And once again it was Atalanta who scored another goal in the second half. So the score became 3-0. After that I stopped trusting Leverkusen. Because as I remember from the start of the first half, Leverkusen was always unable to make attacks that endangered Atalanta's back line. And Atalanta often makes Leverkusen's back line difficult. And this is a surprising result with a score of 3-0. I almost couldn't believe the result of the match. But yeah, that's football. And congratulations to Atalanta for the title they won in the European League.

The sweetest part about the match was that Atalanta didn't relent in their attack against their opponents and didn't give space for any mistakes else they would have lost their clean sheet. You know, this win makes me remember how they thrashed Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp's men didn't expect it.
Football is a game of surprises and anything can happen but sometimes too how the outcome of a game will go depends on the effort put in by the players and I'd say Atalanta really put in a great effort in the game.
Yes, almost everyone couldn't believe the result of a match like that and Atalanta was really able to work their magic to beat Bayer Leverkusen. Yes, if we refer to Atalanta's match against Liverpool, maybe we shouldn't underestimate them, their game was really impressive and difficult to predict with the scheme implemented by Gasperini. The effect of Leverkusen's defeat may be because they are still lulled by their achievements in the Bundesliga and are too euphoric so they don't maximize their time during training and monitoring Atalanta's tactics, perhaps Alonso is very aware of that. Now Leverkusen only needs to focus on the final match of the DFB Pokal, that is their last chance to achieve double winners this season. And the defeat to Atalanta should be a valuable lesson for Alonso.
Football terms are sometimes very difficult to predict or predict. Bayer Leverkusen experienced the first defeat and at the same time a humiliating defeat in the final, which really surprised many parties, especially among loyal supporters, but the result cannot be changed, even though Bayer Leverkusen holds possession of the ball.  but that doesn't mean that Atalanta's luck or achievements performed well in that match, Atalanta is a club from Italy where the league is famous for its very strong defensive style so it is very clear that Bayer Leverkusen had problems when they met a top club from Italy, of course an achievement  what was extraordinary from Gian Piero Gasperini's men who were able to win this match with a surprising score of 3-0.

I didn't understand anything from the Leverkusen game this evening. Atalanta made them look very ordinary. Atalanta acted like Leverkusen wouldn't score even one goal in the full 90 minutes. Atalanta is an Italian force with an attacking style that isn't typical for Italian teams. Imagine beating Liverpool at Anfield easily. Bayer Leverkusen was prepared for Atalanta FC but wasn't ready for Lookman, who saw through their defense.Leverkusen's charm has ended; they only performed well in the Bundesliga. I think Xabi Alonso became complacent. How can he start with six defenders, four midfielders, and no forwards? This was a tough lesson for Alonso from an Italian expert, and it will benefit him in the future. Congratulations to Atalanta FC.
Atalanta really taught Xabi Alonso a valuable lesson that there is another level that Xabi Alonso must learn on a bigger stage. Leverkusen has actually seen difficulties since the quarter-finals and semi-finals. We have to remember that in the second leg of the quarter-finals, West Ham was even able to hold Leverkusen to a draw, then Leverkusen was also held to a draw by Roma in the second leg of the semi-finals. And actually we forget to consider all that. I also forgot all these results and instead chose to trust Leverkusen in that match. Just because they were unbeaten before yesterday's final. But after seeing Atalanta manage to beat Leverkusen very easily. I started to realize that Leverkusen was not as strong as they showed in the Bundesliga. What is clear is that in yesterday's final match, Atalanta was able to create a strong defense and make a fast counter-attack which overwhelmed Leverkusen.

But I am sure Leverkusen will mature after learning lessons from the defeat in the European league. And Xabi Alonso will definitely make his squad even stronger next season.

Leverkusen now still has 1 match this season, namely the DFB Cup final. Xabi Alonso will definitely try his best there. because Leverkusen definitely doesn't want to lose twice in a row in two different finals.

LMAO, The invincible club must suffer its first defeat against the parking bus strategy thanks for gasperini being not stubborna and think about how to win the game. Thank you to Gasperini for using his sense to use the parking strategy in this game and you deserved to win europa league this season. Other clubs are so dumb because they can't believe how effective a parking bus strategy was against a club with dominant ball possessions like Leverkusen. It makes leverkusen becomes so clueless.

Atalanta deserved it. Leverkusen deserved this to lose with good scores against atalanta. They pretend that they can break the parking bus, but they can't since atalanta's defensive line is too strong and very consistent. Atalanta was only relying on the counterattack, and it is working. I'm not sure why people regard the parking bus strategy as a bad one to use

I disagree to what you are actually saying here, Atalanta didn't park the bus as you said, it's a game I watched from start to finish, Atalanta came out and went toe too toe with Bayern Leverkusen from the very start of the game, and got a well deserved lead, and they double their lead later on, it was later in the second half that they decide to play on the counter attacks, which paid off, and reward them of the third goal.

But I was actually surprised by the final result, because I thought that since Bayern Leverkusen was the favourite, they would have won, even though I expected a tight game, but a big congratulations to Atalanta for delivering the desired result when it really matters, and they finally put a stop to the unbeaten run of Bayern Leverkusen, kudos too them.

Against the expectations of many, the Europa League final is going in favour of Atalanta. The Nigerian international Lookman have become a nightmare for Bayern Leverkusen following his two early goals. Now Leverkusen is two goals down and still facing serious pressure from Atalanta. Perhaps they understand the importance of remaining resolute until the end.
It's as if one would say it's Nigerian against Nigerians with both teams having Nigerian stars. Wilfred Boniface on the Bayer Leverkusen side was who almost all football fans was expecting to deliver in this position that Lookman has surprisingly emeged in, giving his team an early brace up goals.

On a serious note, Bayer Leverkusen willing be having a hard time getting a comeback on this one, Atlanta defense is that good enough to deny them that despite how much of a fighting spirit Beyer Leverkusen has shown throughout this season. It's just an unfortunate way to end their unbeaten record in a season at the final game. It's a shock of the night.
Lookman and his friends really played better than usual.  Even in the second half I saw Atalanta repeatedly create good opportunities. And Atalanta's defense also looks a little chaotic at the moment. They sometimes had difficulty keeping up with the fast attacks built by Atalanta's forward players. But Leverkusen will definitely do something. because it would be very difficult to believe if Leverkusen did not succeed in getting a goal back in the second half.

I would be very happy if Leverkusen could maintain their unbeaten record this season. Because only this match and other final matches in other competitions remain for Leverkusen. And I hope Leverkusen can finish it well. But what I see now is the game that Leverkusen is showing when creating an attack pattern that is really not like what they usually do. Maybe this happens because Atalanta understands the attack scheme that Leverkusen usually uses. And Atalanta have found a way to stop Leverkusen's attacking style.
Well, Beyer Leverkusen lost the game and their mistake was letting Atlanta to score those two goals, that's what you don't allow a team with a better defense line than yours do, I thought they could have learnt that about Atlanta when they knocked Liverpool out in the Europa after gaining those early goals against Liverpool. It's just hurting to know that Leverkusen's dream of a treble has been cut off it was all a bad night for them after 51 games unbeaten streaks, no doubt they will never forget in a hurry the name Ademola lookman. The guy was on fire last night, scoring a record breaking hattrick in the European league to give his side Atlanta an astounding victory.

It suddenly feels like tomorrow is the day to decide where the final match will take place, we will see where the two strongest team in this competition compete to beat each other and bring home the trophy for the 2023/24 European League title.
I sure that Atalanta and Leverkusen have prepared everything carefully and of course they can show truly competitive game in this decisive match, seeing how Leverkusen is playing at the end of this season they are getting stronger.
Leverkusen has big opportunity to win the title this season, they are favorites and they are team with much more significant advantage when compared to Atalanta, they are team that is really very compact and can always overcome every opponent move.

If look at their previous match records in the Europa League, Atalanta was far superior and managed to get rid of Leverkusen, but now everything has changed and Leverkusen is much stronger than the previous season.
It doesn't really feel like today the Europa League Final will finally be held. And I'm sure there are still many and perhaps more and more who will favor Leverkusen in this match. But Atalanta itself must have prepared everything well for today's match. And actually Atalanta can play calmly in the final match without having to think about the remaining matches in Serie A. Because actually Atalanta will definitely get a ticket to the UCL. Even though there are still two matches left for Atalanta in Serie A, Atalanta only needs to secure 1 point. And not only that, if we look at Atalanta's goal productivity, which is more than Roma, we can be sure that Atalanta is safe with its current ranking of 5th. So Atalanta only needs to focus on the European League. or for today's Final. And yes, in the previous season, Leverkusen was not as strong as this season. And Atalanta will probably face the most difficult match. But Leverkusen will definitely not be able to win easily in this final match. Atalanta could even surprise them.
Everyone thinks Leverkusen is the best in this competition and they, including me, make Leverkusen the favorite to easily beat Atalanta and win the Europa League title this season.
But what happened was very disappointing, it was really unfortunate that Leverkusen looked really stressed in matching or holding back every attacking game that Atalanta gave.
In this match it was clear that Leverkusen could really control the game well in possession of the ball but none of the Leverkusen players were able to penetrate the Atalanta defense well and score goal.
This result shows how sharp Atalanta front line is and they managed to break into Leverkusen goal with 3 goals without any counter goals being scored, I still really don't believe in today match and the surprise given by Atalanta was very painful.

Even though it did not match expectations, everything has happened and congratulations to Atalanta for their achievement in beating Leverkusen and winning the Europa League title for the 2023/24 season.

Wow! Just wow. What a performance by the Atalanta team, I know Ademola lookman was the show man in the yesterday final but I think the whole team did a wonderful job against one of the best team in Europe right now. Probably Atalanta knowing there were the under Dog helped them a lot because they knew they will have to give their everything if they were going to stand a chance to beat Bayern Leverkusen. Congratulations again to Atalanta and to Ademola lookman.

Lookman scored a hattrick in the Europa league final, what a 5 star performance by him, man was on fire last night, all season lookman have been on fire just that last night was electric. I can say you will never see a performance like this again in a UEFA Europa League final again.

The whole Atalanta team was on fire yesterday. Ederson also was on fire yesterday he was absolutely everywhere, that was a kante kinda performance yesterday. Maybe this is the kind of performance you actually need to beat a team like Leverkusen this season. Solid defending, clinical attacking and an all round team performance. Again congratulations to Atalanta and to Ademola loookman.

my post is a little late, but I must say that I'm not very surprised by this result, Atalanta beat Liverpool in that competition, so it was already clear that Atalanta could beat big teams, also Leverkusen in this competition despite having arrived In the final, in my opinion, they did not present a solidity equal to Atalanta in terms of performance in this competition and this could mean that Leverkusen could have a bad performance in the champions league next season. Most teams that perform well in the local league and do not have a coach with great experience in European competitions tend to fail in European competitions.

I haven't seen a worse performance this season than Leverkusen. The Leverkusen team was in very good form. But still the Leverkusen team played very badly against Atalanta. We don't see any strong attack from Leverkusen in this match. Atalanta's dominance was visible throughout the match.

Atalanta winning by a big margin of 3-0 was beyond my expectations. I expected to see a competitive match. But the match was completely one-sided. We only saw Atalanta's dominance in this match. Players from both teams had 10 shots each, but the interesting thing is that Atalanta had 7 shots on target. Atalanta's every attack was sharp and powerful.

I knew Atalanta had a fighting chance but I never expected how the previously unbeaten Leverkusen to not even score a goal. It's just embarrassing for the Bundesliga champions to be losing that way. Congratulations to Atalanta and Lookman for an impressive performance. I won't be surprised if bigger teams from Europe start fighting over him in the offseason.
In the final match last night, I was not surprised by Atalanta's game which was able to beat Bayer Leverkusen, because they also have a very experienced coach, namely Gasperini, he is very good at choosing players who he can build into famous players, Lookman is the main player who starred in the match night by scoring 3 goals and a hat trick against Bayer Leverkusen and bringing Atalanta to win the European League.

This is the first defeat for Bayer Leverkusen this season, it is very sad for them because this is a very important match, especially as Bayer Leverkusen were favorites to become European champions this season, but everything failed, Atalanta managed to become European champions this season by beating Bayer Leverkusen by a margin of 3 goal without reply.

Yesterday I said that I expected Atalanta to win the UEL. This is like a dream because Atalanta and Leverkusen have very different statistics in the domestic league. However, my dream has come true, Atalanta has proven that Serie A is still capable of winning titles in European competitions.

I didn't watch this match, because I fell asleep a few minutes after kick off. However, from the highlights I saw that Atalanta's first goal occurred because of a mistake made by a Leverkusen defender, when Lookman scored a goal that received a pass and ran coming from behind.

Pressure as a team with unbeaten records, may affected to players, since they have to win this match to create a great history for Leverkusen. But, Atalanta is onfire, Lookman incridible, Atalanta success playing with target to break the records and become UEL winner for the first time.

Yes, it was unexpected that Xabi Alonso's troops could swallow the bitter pill in the final match and not be able to score a single goal and of course if you look at the domestic league, of course Leverkusen is superior because Leverkusen is the Bundesliga champion this season while in Serie A Atalanta is ranked 5th. Yes, it is very unique because your dream came true because Atalanta managed to become UEL champions this season. and of course it will definitely make Serie A proud because the club won the UEL.

Yes, Lookman really was a hero and he moved quickly to take advantage of Davide Zappacosta's pass which in the end Lookman's hard kick managed to become a goal for Atalanta and finally the total goals scored by Lookman became 3 and at the end of the match 3-0 for Atalanta's victory. but I personally am also impressed with Musso because his performance is very good and he is very good at reading the movement of the ball and the opponent and also Atalanta's defense is really very strong which makes it difficult for Leverkusen to find gaps to take advantage of opportunities.

Yes, there could be mental pressure because Leverkusen is a strong and invincible team and of course it will have an impact when playing and I also see it like that because I see the accuracy of Leverkusen players who are not good at taking advantage of opportunities. Yes, now Atalanta has really made new history because they won the Europa League for the first time, but of course Leverkusen became runner up and of course that is a good thing and we also deserve to congratulate Leverkusen who became runner up.

Congratulations to Atalanta for the great achievement

You are not the only one who is surprised by this result, almost everybody believes that Leverkusen is going to win the Europa League title, since the beginning of the season I have been among those people who have been saying Leverkusen is capable of winning the league because of their performance but I was shocked yesterday when seeing Atlanta defeating Leverkusen, Atlanta is a strong team because even in their Serie A league they are very strong and they play against Juventus in Copa Italia final and Juventus defeat them by winning 1:0, I don’t expect Atlanta to perform like this against Leverkusen before the game one of my friend is telling me that Atlanta can win the game because Atlanta defeat Liverpool but I didn’t believe what he’s saying and now I have seen why they said football is an unpredicted event.

So at this point no unbeaten record for Leverkusen again, the record has been broken by Atlanta, what happened to the Leverkusen team because I didn’t believe well that Leverkusen was the one on the field playing against Atlanta, Leverkusen was defeated by a goal scored by a single player, a Nigeria player ( Ademola lookman), although lookman was a very dangerous player all those goals he scored yesterday, are fantastic goals and the defensive players of Leverkusen are not too good in the game, imagine Leverkusen that is beating every team they met this season have also been defeated by Atlanta and by winning 3:0, Leverkusen can’t even score a single goal in the match.

Congratulations to Atalanta, who have succeeded in winning the Europa League this season. A result that was never expected, where Leverkusen were the favorites before the match but Atalanta managed to create a surprise. Leverkusen impressive record was broken, and Atalanta was the luckiest club to do it, Xabi fleet seemed to have lost its magic. The expected Treble Winner failed to materialize, this was a very painful defeat.

Expectations for Leverkusen are quite high, I really didn't expect them to lose to Atalanta. Apart from that, I think many bettors experienced losses from the results of this final match, once again Atalanta really achieved a miracle by beating Leverkusen. Xabi fleet was overwhelmed by Atalanta solid defense, even though they were very dominant in possession of the ball.

On the other hand, this is probably the biggest shock that has happened this season, and again no one can really predict the final result of the game. Ademola Lookman is probably the player that Leverkusen fans hate the most, his three goals buried Leverkusen dreams. However, Leverkusen still deserves appreciation because they were able to maintain their unbeaten record for 51 matches.
Who would have thought that Leverkusen could be slaughtered without any resistance at all? Finally feeling what defeat is and the conqueror is Atalanta who taught a valuable lesson to Xabi Alonso and his players that in football you have to know the pain of being defeated. This defeat was not something easy to accept for Xabi Alonso troops after their 51 match journey was broken at the top of the final. It's definitely painful and will never be forgotten. The crushing blow that the Atalanta coach taught by saying "hey Xabi you are still young, I will teach you how to play football". Cool

Congratulations to Atalanta and this victory is very valuable plus breaking Leverkusen dominance.

I underestimated these side, I had the impression that since they wasn't able to defeat Juventus, they won't be able to do so with Bayern Leverkusen in the Europa League Finals. Could it be because Xabi Alonso didn't start his best side or the fact that he was never compact?
This is disappointing honestly, it's hurting and also tiring to be frank. They both had a tough road to the finals, I will not say that about Bayern Leverkusen, infact if you can remember week after week, they was the talk of the town and stuff.

Congratulations to Ademola Lookman and Atalanta anyways.

This is like the third finals for him this year, ( African Cup of Nations Competitions, Copa Italia and UEFA European Europa League Competition ) I'm excited he was able to lift one and also had a massive contribution as he single handedly won Atalanta this game against the best attacking club in the world. So much dissatisfaction on the face of Xabi Alonso. One more cup game for them the defense was completely disastrous, hopefully that gets fixed up in the next Cup finals.

Although Atlanta beat the big teams we've seen them reach the finals and play so well it was a real surprise. I thought maybe Leverkusen would win against Atalanta but it turned out to be a complete reversal rather the football game is a surprise we must admit as a result strong Leverkusen lost to someone. Since winning the Europa League this season, Atalanta have had quite a good performance towards the game and are far ahead of the competition. Good luck to Atalanta that they didn't beat strong teams and give the likes of Leverkusen the chance to win the Europa Trophy but they attacked enough to win the match. Every team performs well in their own way but Europa League is a big place and it definitely needs good coaches and it is very difficult to win matches. And in the last match of course Atlantic won the match with a strong performance and their coach has enough good strategy and maybe he is experienced which is why they succeeded in winning the Europa League.

Defensively, Bayer Leverkusen are not really secured else those two goals won't have found the net to give Atalanta a two goal lead. I won't be in a hurry to declare them the winners yet since the team they are playing against are known to be dying minute equalizers or winners of games so it's still early.
No doubt that the game is quite tough as the both sides are really getting at each other but in terms of touches, Atalanta seems to be taking the lead but I wonder if they will be able to maintain this form till the end of the game since Leverkusen are beginning to mount pressure too.
Leverkusen also made an extraordinary comeback when they faced Roma in the semi-finals. So it's possible that in the second half Leverkusen will be able to do it again. However, Atalanta's performance was beyond my expectations. I knew they were a strong club but I didn't expect them to be able to break down Leverkusen's defense quite easily in the first half. 2 Goals is clearly an extraordinary achievement for Atalanta. but that doesn't mean they have locked in victory. Because in the second half anything can still happen. And Leverkusen also started to improve their attacks well in the first half. It's just that I hope Xabi Alonso will also pay attention to the gaps in Leverkusen's defense that must be repaired in the second half. And now the first half is over with the score still the same, namely 2-0.
The sweetest part about the match was that Atalanta didn't relent in their attack against their opponents and didn't give space for any mistakes else they would have lost their clean sheet. You know, this win makes me remember how they thrashed Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp's men didn't expect it.

The Europa League final match was really very exciting and I didn't expect that the Bundesliga champions, who have never lost in the Bundesliga, namely Leverkusen, could be defeated by Atalanta and of course Leverkusen in this match were not able to take advantage of opportunities well. but of course in this match the highlight was Lookman and of course he was a hero for Atalanta and his kick against Leverkusen was very strong and accurate.

Even though in Serie A Atalanta did not become champions, of course this can be compensated by winning the prestigious match in the Europa League and of course many Atalanta fans are happy because Atalanta won the Europa League and of course this is the first time for Atalanta and of course I want to congratulate Atalanta who have won the Europa League title and it seems that now Xabi Alonso and Leverkusen will have to let that title fall into the hands of Atalanta. and of course Gasperini was very great and successful in training his men. Now Gasperini, the Atalanta players and the Atalanta fans are happy. and the name Lookman is now starting to become more and more famous because of his really cool appearance.and I really like seeing Atalanta players holding the trophy.
