WOW!!

Atalanta have blown Leverkusen away with aplomb. Alonso had no answer for the tacttics that Gasperini came in with and the players followed it to the latter.

Lookman with the first ever hat-trick in the Europa league final just summed up how good Atalanta were today. They dominated every part of the pitch for the entirety of the match.

Congratulations to Atalanta

Alonso actually tied this season, but the too much hope on the Europa League victory has ended today. Leverkusen’s unbeaten ended in their last important match of the season.

No more treble for Leverkusen.

Congratulations Atalanta, they win a final that many people don’t expect them to win, this is indeed an incredible win for Atalanta, they are very lucky to win this trophy and a big congratulations to Lukman for his hat trick in the match his goals see his team to victory, today will be a special day for him and the entire team.

Atalanta managed to score their 3rd goal as you said. And now I think Atalanta really can no longer be stopped and most likely with a score of 3-0 it is almost certain that Atalanta will be champions in this European League Final. This will also make Atalanta the first team to beat Leverkusen, who have never lost in all competitions this season. And it looks like Leverkusen will experience the same defeat as they experienced in their previous meeting 2 seasons ago when they faced Atalanta. I was a little disappointed because I had too high hopes for Leverkusen. But I admit that the game shown by Atalanta was indeed better in this match compared to Leverkusen, which is still having difficulty penetrating Atalanta's defense.

Congratulations to Ademola Lookman who managed to score a hat trick in this match. He scored the first goal in the 12th minute, then in the 26th minute and the last goal in the 75th minute. And now we can see Atalanta also almost scored again. This will really be a very valuable lesson for Xabi Alonso to make better preparations next season. Because next season Leverkusen will play in the UCL.
Before the game kicked off, I told us in the thread that the two players to watch out for tonight are the two Nigerian attackers in both teams. Atalanta manager started with his Nigerian winter Ademola Lookman and his strong faith and believe on the capabilities of the Nigeria international has just paid off as Ademola Lookman was able to score three goals in the game. Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso decided to start his own Nigerian striker from the the bench but introduced him to the game in the second half.
We know that Bayer Leverkusen have in several times made surprise comebacks this season but I don't see them getting a single game in this game talk more of coming back. It'll definitely be a huge win for Atalanta as this will be their first European trophy.
Well you're right. And it seems that currently many great players are being born from Nigeria. And it was an extraordinary achievement to score a hat trick in the Final match which is in the spotlight of all football fans today.

This time Leverkusen did not succeed in making the comeback they usually do. And Leverkusen also made a lot of mistakes in their back line. This shows that Atalanta indeed has more mature readiness than Leverkusen. And this will be a historical moment that will be remembered. Namely, Atalanta is the team that managed to stop Leverkusen's unbeaten record this season. And this is a truly extraordinary achievement.

Once again I congratulate Atalanta on becoming champions of the European League this season. And I will be looking forward to their performance in the upcoming Champions League with Leverkusen.

Atalanta are playing well and they are still very likely to find the 3rd goal before the game ends. Defensive concentration has been improved and this is what helps the most to maintain the lead. Leverkusen still have 20 minutes to make a comeback, but I can't necessarily believe they can do it if their opponent's defense is not bad in the final minutes.

Atalanta's third goal was scored by the same player, as well as being the decisive goal for Atalanta's victory in the final match of the Europa League this season. Ademola Lookman's hat trick has undermined the morale of the Leverkusen players who are usually very good even though they are several goals behind, but Atalanta's strong defense and Leverkusen's poor performance have made Atalanta successful in making history in the Europa League.

In the end, Leverkusen's unbeaten record was stopped in the Europa League final. Atalanta, which was previously considered trivial, turned out to do something really great and surprised everyone. Leverkusen couldn't do much despite trying, so they had to be satisfied with the result.

Congratulations to Atalanta.

What a match!! Wow! Atalanta become the first Italian team to win the Europa league competition and the first to dent the record of Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen in their 52 game unbeaten run and to say the fans are excited is an understatement. This Atalanta side have never won any title since they were promoted into the Serie A and what a way to establish themselves.
At this rate, even of they finish fifth in their league, they have the assurance that they have a slot in the champions league next season.
It's not a fun thing to lose in the final after going strong throughout the season but Bayer Leverkusen will console themselves that they were beaten by an equally formidable side like Atalanta.

Atalanta deserve the win because they came into this game as the underdog, against a team that has not lost in 51 games and they totally dominated the game against them. Ademola Lookman makes history by helping Atalanta win their first major trophy and also by scoring a sensational hattrick in this European final. Bayer Leverkusen could not just find a way through the Atalanta defense, they defended well, and even Xhaka could not find the opportunity to control the midfield. Maybe Bayer Leverkusen were too confident entering the game, but their performance was not the usual as we have seen them play this season.

With Ademola Lookman helping Atalanta to their first major trophy and scoring three major goals in the finals, it is possible that he wins the award for the best African player award after Victor Osimhen.

Such an incredible performance from the Atalanta side and Nigeria's Ademola Lookman was able to score the hat trick that melt the heart of the Leverkusen side after they almost ended the whole of the season in an unbeaten run but Atalanta was able to stop them and lift the Europa league trophy after 61 years, what a historic moment for the club because winning a team like Bayern Leverkusen that has remained unbeaten in all competitions since the season is not that easy so Atalanta did a great job tonight. Ademola Lookman will surely be given the man of the match award in this finals today because he utilized his scoring techniques very well and led his team to a victorious moment.

At this point, I think there is no more hope for Bayer Leverkusen because Ademola Lukuman has gotten his hat trick for Atalanta, and at this time, it will be very hard for Bayer Leverkusen to get this trophy. I have already put my complete hope on them to win due to their performance, but with the time left, I don’t yet know if they can make it to win Atalanta, so all I will say is that I will still see how the game will end. because anything can happen, but for this war, I don’t think Bayer Leverkusen will still have hope.
It is over for Leverkusen already, I knew it since in the first half because they are not in the game and Atalanta were very serious and have good pressing ability and they pressured Leverkusen till this point. I was expecting a turnover in the second half and a comeback but Ademola Lukuman scored another goal to make it three for his team.
Lukuman has set record of scoring three goals in the Europa League final and Atalanta keep their record of winning streak against Leverkusen.

Quote
At the end, I might say Atalanta will be able to break the record that Bayer Leverkusen has kept for so long because there is a possibility for them to lose today's game.
We just have to congratulate them for a job well done, they deserve to win since the time they eliminated Liverpool, and they are finally champions of the Europa League 2024/25 season. Congratulations to Atalanta.

Honestly, I am not going to doubt all you have said here because I watched Leverkusen come back from a 0:2 down against Roma to a 2:2 in the second half but as we all know this is the finals and Atalanta having watched the performances of Xabi Alone and his team won't give any room for that come back in this game unless they are red carded as 3 of their players have received yellow cards. Atalanta is a good team with sharp attackers I wonder why the defensive players of Bayer Leverkusen became very careless in this finals that they can't manage the defense properly and right now the Atalanta team is letting Bayer Leverkusen to enjoy the ball possession but they aren't getting closer to make more attempts after having two shots on target in the first half it's really difficult to believe that after 70 minutes Leverkusen that most people predicted to win can't get a goal in this match am disappointed but hope we get see a dramatic turn around soon.
Usually, the final games are played with a different spirit other than the energy and strength used in play on a regular qualifying and knock out stages, and here comes the meeting of the two best teams in the competition because for one to get there in the final, it isn't easy, and you have passed the elimination stages to be crowned the Champions, Like I said in one of my posts here that Leverkusen might face difficulties winning Atlanta regardless of their form and unbeaten record in Bundesliga, reason being that both teams are not in same league. To me, here comes the end of the road and this dream trophy for the German side Bayern Leverkusen, if you know what Atalanta can do if they're winning you 2-0 this season, let alone here in the final game, it's finished.

I have known this for a while now that Leverkusen have a weak defense but their style of play have made it look as if they have no problem in their defense because the attackers are attacking well and scoring goals. The rate at which they concede goals proves how weak their defense is and when they face a stronger team they they will find it difficult to win especially when the teams attack and defense is balanced. Going 2 goals down in this match is the biggest mistake they would make this season because i don’t think Atlanta will allow them to pull their usual stunt of equalizing at stoppage time.

Yes their defense is usually left flat and the reason been that their wing backs both Girmaldo and Firmpong are mostly pushed up a lot and their by leaving enough of space on the wing, one thing that has actually been saving them is the fact that this wingers have pace that they recover quickly. In todays game you will see that Atlanta head coach as actually exploited those space and Ademola Lookman has been a torn in their flesh, sadly I don’t see Xabi Alonso and his boys coming back from this. It was a good run but definitely a disappointment. This is part of the reason why football is the most watched sport on the planet.

The game is not yet over and we all know what Leverkusen is capable of so until the final whistle the game is still very on. Let’s hope and see Leverkusen equalize but i doubt if it will be possible today, they could only get a consolation goal at least but 2 goals is wide margin in games like this.

It’s over now they can come back from a three goal down, it will take something more than miracle to see that happen. We all were expecting a comeback but Lookman’s third goal seals it for them. What a season both clubs, both seriously deserved it but the best team won today. Alonso should have twerked the formation in the second half

Atalanta could still shock the world, we do not know which one will  be better and who will do better, we just know that Atalanta will end up trying their very best, and maybe they will do fine and maybe they won't, I do not know which one will be true. If they can somehow shock the world and get the win that would be insane for all the people who bet on that game, quadrupling your bet is always a great thing and this is right around those levels so it is definitely a good way to go.

I believe that we need to consider that we are going to end up with a lot better results if given enough chances. Same with Dortmund over at UCL, not many give them a chance, but they still have a chance in the football world sense because it is the finals.
Initially Atalanta surprised Liverpool and now in the final surprised the world again Leverkusen's record has been stopped by Atalanta although I am skeptical that this will be equalized it is unlikely to see Leverkusen's poor playing situation even the defense and attack are not so impressive.

Too much praise for Leverkusen which in the end there are many surprises here. Who would have thought that the favorite of many people would be Leverkusen not Atalanta but what happened on the field was that the team from Serie A was the most ferocious while Lookman scored a hatric in this match which was amazing.

I will give you some credits for seeing that Atalanta will score the third goal which they actually did. It shows you ae actually watching the match because anyone watching the match will easily see that Atalanta have dominated the match and still playing as if they have not even scored a single goal. This is how a team that want to win should play and in this case, they ae doing both the playing and the scoring. I was actually thinking that Bayern Leverkusen will be able to win this match considering how well they have performed this season. Unfortunately, this is final and the ready team will always win. I just feel some kinds of pity for their coach Xabi Alonso who would have kept a wonderful record that will remain for generations to come. 80minutes into the match and score remains 3-0 against Bayer Leverkusen, I don't thing there is any magic that can save them tonight.

Defensively, Bayer Leverkusen are not really secured else those two goals won't have found the net to give Atalanta a two goal lead. I won't be in a hurry to declare them the winners yet since the team they are playing against are known to be dying minute equalizers or winners of games so it's still early.
No doubt that the game is quite tough as the both sides are really getting at each other but in terms of touches, Atalanta seems to be taking the lead but I wonder if they will be able to maintain this form till the end of the game since Leverkusen are beginning to mount pressure too.
Leverkusen also made an extraordinary comeback when they faced Roma in the semi-finals. So it's possible that in the second half Leverkusen will be able to do it again. However, Atalanta's performance was beyond my expectations. I knew they were a strong club but I didn't expect them to be able to break down Leverkusen's defense quite easily in the first half. 2 Goals is clearly an extraordinary achievement for Atalanta. but that doesn't mean they have locked in victory. Because in the second half anything can still happen. And Leverkusen also started to improve their attacks well in the first half. It's just that I hope Xabi Alonso will also pay attention to the gaps in Leverkusen's defense that must be repaired in the second half. And now the first half is over with the score still the same, namely 2-0.

Against the expectations of many, the Europa League final is going in favour of Atalanta. The Nigerian international Lookman have become a nightmare for Bayern Leverkusen following his two early goals. Now Leverkusen is two goals down and still facing serious pressure from Atalanta. Perhaps they understand the importance of remaining resolute until the end.
It's as if one would say it's Nigerian against Nigerians with both teams having Nigerian stars. Wilfred Boniface on the Bayer Leverkusen side was who almost all football fans was expecting to deliver in this position that Lookman has surprisingly emeged in, giving his team an early brace up goals.

On a serious note, Bayer Leverkusen willing be having a hard time getting a comeback on this one, Atlanta defense is that good enough to deny them that despite how much of a fighting spirit Beyer Leverkusen has shown throughout this season. It's just an unfortunate way to end their unbeaten record in a season at the final game. It's a shock of the night.
Lookman and his friends really played better than usual.  Even in the second half I saw Atalanta repeatedly create good opportunities. And Atalanta's defense also looks a little chaotic at the moment. They sometimes had difficulty keeping up with the fast attacks built by Atalanta's forward players. But Leverkusen will definitely do something. because it would be very difficult to believe if Leverkusen did not succeed in getting a goal back in the second half.

I would be very happy if Leverkusen could maintain their unbeaten record this season. Because only this match and other final matches in other competitions remain for Leverkusen. And I hope Leverkusen can finish it well. But what I see now is the game that Leverkusen is showing when creating an attack pattern that is really not like what they usually do. Maybe this happens because Atalanta understands the attack scheme that Leverkusen usually uses. And Atalanta have found a way to stop Leverkusen's attacking style.

The match is getting interesting because a lot of surprises have came up in the first half of the game which I didn't expect to happen so quickly. Atalanta now have a two goal lead but can they keep up with it till the end of the match? Bayern Leverkusen don't look hopeless yet as they see a lot of winning opportunities left for them in this match with another 45 minutes of game to be played in the second half of the game.

Bayern Leverkusen are known this season for winning matches even in the final minutes of the match, so there won’t be that much joy with Atalanta because they won’t have that full confidence yet of winning the match. The second half will be full of more intriguing game with Bayern Leverkusen trying to equalize and Atalanta trying to defend their two goals.
