The Europa League and the Champions League over the last 10 seasons have basically had different winning teams, but there is only one team that has managed to have more than one trophy, in the Champions League obviously the team is Real Madrid and in the Europa League is Sevilla and both are La Liga teams. But indeed, in this season for the Europa League I also became confident in Tottenham because after all, Ange Postecoglou did manage to make Tottenham at least better.

Although last season Ange Postecoglou failed to make Tottenham consistent, but at least Ange Postecoglou was still able and managed to make Tottenham have a good performance. I think this is a fair assessment, but still the odds for Tottenham to win will not be 1.2 but higher, something like 1.3-1.35. Bookmakers take into account that Tottenham already have 6 points and there is no great motivation to work hard in a secondary competition, while AZ Alkmaar only have 3 points, plus for them any game in European cups gives increased motivation, especially against big clubs (for AZ Alkmaar Tottenham is definitely a big club).

The match is worth waiting for and I can wait to see how Jose Mourinho will prepare his team for this big encounter and welcoming of his former team once again. It has really been a while and many things have happened since he left, so I don’t think he may get it that easily even though Manchester United are not giving that positive vibe of performing well this season and finishing in a very good position. Manchester United is a team that may still surprise us in this match and win the match despite their poor performance so far this season.

Although, this is the Europa League which more is expected from them and they also know that they have to give more than they’re giving in other competitions before they can go far in this competition. The format has really changed and the new format requires them to give in more effort than they use to before if at all they participated in the competition recently. Eric Ten Hag is not giving that notion that he can do well for the team this season, but that still doesn’t give away the fact that he’ll win this match and earn some points for Manchester United in this game. I will be well anticipating for this match because it’s promising to be a great game to watch.

If it weren't for the "Mourinho versus former club" subtext, it's unlikely that anyone (other than fans of the teams involved) would be interested in this game. This is the Europa League and this is the group stage. The only thing that might be interesting here is how unlucky United might be with Ten Hag - they have yet to win a single Europa League game and overall they have one win in their last 10 European games.

What else are anticipating other than seeing Manchester united showcasing their usual terrible game. Manchester united is currently undergoing difficulties and their performance is not impressive but keep declining from match to match. In the UEFA continuation, Tottenham will play at home against Alkmaar, although here it tends to be a victory for the host but I see Alkmaar can make a surprise here, because the Spurs team will face City first and that will put them under pressure, so for the next match against Alkmaar I think they will be a little frustrated and Alkmaar can take advantage of that.

That is still uncertain for Tottenham because they themselves are also very aware that Alkmaar is not the same as Manchester City so that Alkmaar could be slaughtered by Tottenham in the next match in the Europa League even though Tottenham could not win when facing Manchester City in their own domestic league. I don't see Alkmaar having a chance to hold Tottenham from winning at home because as bad as Tottenham is in the domestic league, Tottenham can still make a more extraordinary comeback in the Europa League this season.

Tottenham got a bad result in their last match after the defeat to Brighton, but in that match we can see how they appeared quite attractive, impressive and able to trouble Brighton throughout the match, I think we can't equate match againts AZ Alkmaar with when Tottenham faced Manchester City, because after all the quality and level of AZ Alkmaar is very far below Manchester City Grin

, I agree with a greater chance of victory for Tottenham in that match, because so far AZ Alkmaar has actually performed worse than Tottenham in the Eredivisie League with consecutive defeats, currently Tottenham has a fairly good squad depth and often appears stronger in European competitions, so indeed they have the opportunity to slaughter AZ Alkmaar in the match later.
