Exactly, in the EPL, Man United is indeed very bad this season, even very low performance down to position 12, only in the UEFA Europa League, their performance is very good and consistent, indeed quite different from their competition in the Premier League.

yes at least, in 8 matches, they have never lost even once this is a very good achievement and they finished in 3rd position, qualifying for the next round.

That’s because, the Europa league isn’t heavily contested just yet. They’ve had soft and softer opponents to bag points from in contrast to the EPL where, just any team could come against them and undo them. Manchester United isn’t that bad if I’m to be fair, they’ve got some good players on their side, the likes of Amad that is making the rounds with Fernandes there to help, Garnacho too and a couple of other good players. Hope they stand their ground here in the Europa as, they’ve got nothing in the EPL.

Galatasaray lost 2-1 away against Ajax today. I didn't have much hope against Ajax. When I saw Berkan Kutlu and Kaan Ayhan, I said from the beginning that they would leave this match. There is no full-back in the team and it has been two years. It is very difficult to understand what Okan Buruk sees in these players.

They had that coming, trust me else, how would Ajax be so dominant in a game. Gala didn’t play to win, they just came to give us a show and a show they gave. Now, it’s ended.

If Amorim sets the team right and stabilises their form on a high and consistent level, I'd say winning the thing is quite possible,
Amorim experimented with Mainoo playing as a creative player not defensively, and that resulted in a goal and assist for him. Amongst the Manchester United players linked to leave the club, he was among them, but with the performance from today, I think the coach may begin to second-think his decision and may decide to give him more chance to play deeper, closer to the oppositions penalty Box because of how creative he can be both with goal scoring opportunities and creating opportunities for his teammates.

Is it that some teams didn't really take the Europa league seriously? or the competition was too hot for them? Or they just didn't want to do well in it. Because I really don't understand how teams like  Sporting Braga and OGC Nice from the Portuguese and French league that are both in 4th position in their domestic league couldn't make it to at least the play offs of the Europa League. Seriously it's really surprising to me that they couldn't make it.

4th place in their own league doesn't mean much, it shouldn't even be considered an achievement. There are very strong teams from many countries in the Europa League.
Nice didn't even win any games in the league. They were one of the worst teams in the league. Braga failed to qualify for the play-offs because of the number of goals scored and conceded. If we look at the teams with the same points, PAOK, Twente and Fenerbahçe are also very strong teams doing well in their respective leagues. So there is not much validity to what you say. By the way, Braga would have qualified for the next round if their last minute goal counted.
I would have talked about Feenerbahce too but I only singled out the major teams from Europe's top 6 league that's why I only singled out Sporting Braga and OGC Nice, my take is, ow can you be in 4th position in your domestic league and come almost last 35th position in a competition of 36 teams, isn't it awkward? You talking about 4th place not being an achievement is what I don't agree with. Depending on the strength of your league, even a 6th placed team is better than a 1st placed team in some Leagues. So that's why I'm surprised seeing them in such a position. City are 4th in the EPL, is City not better than a 1st position team like Gala in Turkey?? I'm just trying to let you know that being 4th or 6th in a better league means much.

For the performance in the European league, I am a little more optimistic about Manchester United's journey because even though they played badly in the Premier League, they are still quite consistent in the European League.

So Braga did manage to beat Lazio at home, but it wasn't enough and they finished just outside the play-offs zone, as Fenerbahce has a better goal difference. A wasted effort.
Good game by Man United, they're not doing great in the Premier League this season and pretty much can already wave goodbye to their chances of finishing in the top 5, but they still can aim for a trophy in either the Europa League or the FA cup to give something to their fans.
If Amorim sets the team right and stabilises their form on a high and consistent level, I'd say winning the thing is quite possible, although I think Lazio is the biggest favourite.
At the beginning of the season my money would be on Tottenham, but, in the Premier League, they've been nothing but a disappointment recently, although today's game was a walk in the park. A comfy 3-0 win against Elfsorg secured their 4th place, so maybe it's too soon to write them off.

Galatasary got their first lost of the season and in the Europa league, making them to fall below the top 8 of the table and now will have to fight for the their chances to qualify for the round of 16 by coming out victorious in their coming play off match. Although I still think they can get to the round of 16 and possibly more but have to maximize their chances and avoid disappointing performance like this.
I have a hard time trusting Galatasaray in international leagues. They just don’t seem to fit the bill with me and even in their local Turkish league, they are not so consistent or should I say, I can’t just figure them out. That’s why, the Netherland side having to beat them tonight was a satisfying watch, even though I didn’t make any predictions on it. It really was a game that could go either side.

Tottenham for a while scared me. Played goalless draw in the first half, maintained that scoreline deep into the second half and suddenly, they started the goal scoring. 3 goals was the most I would have expected and they made it happen.

Ajax is a really good team and for me one of the favorites to win the entire thing so i dont think Galatasaray had much of a chance here. They arent as good in europe league as they are in the Turkish league but they got through to the next round and they can reach max semi final in my opinion.
To be honest is not like Galatasaray are not doing any much better than Ajax in their various domestic league. While Ajax are a lot better than how they were last season I still don't consider them way higher than Galatasaray in the Europa league contenders rather they are have similar chances. Galatasaray can do much better they have the squad to compete with other teams in the Europa league, they just have to get themselves together and become better.

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur both secured convincing wins, with both Premier League sides securing their places in the last 16. Admittedly, their opponents today were quite easy, they appeared very dominant in possession, although the expected goal did not come until midway through the second half. Tottenham are level with Lazio in terms of goal productivity in the League Phase with 17 goals, while Manchester United are one level below them with 16 goals.

I did expected to have seen goals scored from the first half, especially with Tottenham with the ridiculous odds they were given by the bookies. They have about 1.17 on them for odds and did nothing to prove why they got favored that much until late in the second half. Same thing goes for Manchester United although, there’s was a lot more doubting, the odds and they were the visitors here but, they still did manage to get that win though. A 2 goals victory was a good one in the Europa.

i hope galatasaray has finally seen its shortcomings. i mean, it's so obvious right in front of everyone - the team needs reinforcements at full-backs, midfield, and goalkeeper. what more has to happen? we dropped out of the top 8, we lost our unbeaten streak, what else needs to go wrong, i don’t get it.

galatasaray will face either az alkmaar or midtjylland. we’ll probably lose to either of them. i guess the european journey is over now. it’s done and dusted.

So Lazio ended in 1st position at the end.
On the top of the leader-board we have strong teams
Lazio Athelic United and Spurs in the top 4.
Not like in Champions League where so many top teams failed to be in the top 8

The overall level is lower here with more differences between top clubs and average clusbs

You can say a lot of things about Tottenham Hotspurs this season but you can never say that they aren't scoring goals. Tottenham has been fantastic up front all season and today they managed to keep a very rare clean sheet. Tottenham find it easy to score goals and find it even easier to concede goals that's why their three goals victory without conceding is very surprising. Manchester United too found their scoring boots and managed a clean sheet as well, this game could be good momentum for Tottenham Hotspurs and Manchester United going into the weekend.

It is interesting to see the journey of both teams this season in the Europa League, both appearing different from the Premier League. This impressive performance will certainly be valuable capital for their next match, where Manchester United and Tottenham are trying to improve their respective positions in the Premier League standings.

TBH, I wasn't expecting this from Galatasaray.
From the start of the competition, they where my favorite to finishing at the top position, and maybe even winning the title (even though I wasn't sure about that). How things has turned around so quickly. Like most people will say, how you finish a race matters most. Galatasaray started well, but just couldn't finish well in the group stage, though they made it to the play offs, which doesn't look like a good result IMO.

And as for spurs and Manchester united, they still found their way up the table. Both teams have been very shaky (especially United) since the start of the season, but they where able to secure a round of 16 spot for themselves as if they've been playing well through out the entire season. Congrats to the both of them.

i want to talk about my predictions first; i can say that the results of the three matches involving turkish teams didn’t go as i expected. galatasaray lost 2-1, fenerbahçe drew 2-2, and beşiktaş lost 1-0 to twente. @ajanwalker’s predictions were quite accurate. i congratulate him. two of the teams will continue on their path, while beşiktaş has been eliminated. i guess i had too high expectations.

All the turkish team really performed below expectation today. None of them find a win. The one that surprise me most is Galatasaray. Although I know the match may not come easy between the two teams but at least I'm not expecting an easy win from Ajax. Imagine, if not for Osimhen V. that had a goal toward the end of the match (at around 94 minutes), Ajax would have won without a goal from Galatasaray. Even though Galatasaray loses but I'm glad it wasn't a goalless victory to Ajax.

Galatasaray have disappointed you mate, because they couldn't create a good chance that they would have converted to a goal. Ajax outplayed them and scored another extra goal in the second half to make it. Victor Osimhen has just find his way through to find the back of the net on the 90+4 minutes, will Galatasaray be able to draw this match. I don't think so. Ajax 2-1 Galatasaray.

I wanted to say is a cheap game for Galatasaray because of who they are up against, Ajax who haven't been too good this season. Last week Galatasaray played a 3-3 draw and I wasn't sure of this game ending in a draw maybe a win from visiting team but Ajax did all the hard job and deserve the win. Having an opportunity to beat your opponent and you couldn't come with all you have is what the visitors did and with the striker Victor Osimhen I'm not too impressed by his performance even if he got the goal which wasn't enough to give them the win or a point, I hope they'll have to go back and start up a new chapter by getting themselves a win in their next fixture in the Turkish league.

Well, they're not scoring enough especially in matches you really need them to. Prior to Liverpool bringing in VVD to the defense, we had a strong attacking line up with Sturridge, Suarez and Sterling (SSS) and they went far that season after figuring out that the best defense for a team with poor defense is more offense.

But I agree that Tottenham and Man Utd have done well in the UCL especially when teams like Galatasaray and Fenerbahce fell off harddddd

Nothing will happen in the play-offs, we will be eliminated from this team. I am saying Galatasaray is already eliminated. Today was not a good day for Beşiktaş and Fenerbahce. Fenerbahce made it to the play-offs, Beşiktaş was eliminated.
