UFC has arrived and it is one for the ages this weekend in Abu Dhabi! So know it will be early in the afternoon.

The main card looks like this:
Charles Oliveira vs Islam Makhachev
Alijamain Sterling vs T.J Dillashaw
Petr Yan vs Sean The Sugar Show O'Malley
The winner of the Sugar show bout will have a title show lined up for them for their next match:
https://www.mmamania.com/2022/10/18/23408684/midnight-mania-dana-white-confirms-winner-petr-yan-sean-omalley-title-shot-ufc-280-espn

All these fights look to be bangers so don't expect any of them to end early.

The Multi-master challenge is available for your chance to get some prizes here:

Interesting bit of information known before the main card fight ahead of UFC 280 this weekend.
Charles Oliveira was fighting legally blind for the previous fights he had disclosed having laser eye surgery recently to correct his vision. He has worn glasses for his past interviews during the other main events.
So he was doing that good while not really seeing his opponents in the octagon?

Oliveira mentioned in the interview that he was seeing three images infront of him so he chose the middle one to hit.

Grasso won and the result was by decision so Welsh's selection on the main event was correct.
Nice payout if you did take it @2.20x
I took the straight win which was way too low to take because it could of swung either way going the distance.

Overall a good UFC fight night in Vegas.

Can't wait for UFC 280 next weekend with the a fully stacked card already getting people excited to see those fights.

Really looking forward to Araujo vs Grasso this weekend. Grasso slight favorite if we believe the odds-makers with a 1.44-2.80 odds in favor of Grasso.

And dont forget to join the Multi Master for a chance of some free freebets:

Are those considered slight favourite odds? I'd say that's a faily moderate lean by the bookies. Slight favourites are usually priced at around 1.60-1.80 against their opposition which is usually within a .20 difference.

Tapology has it defined as slight favourite as well, but I don't read that as slight at all. I'd say a Grasso decision is probably the most logical bet to make here. Nets a pretty decdent return at 2.20 odds. Again, not massive odds considering it's a five round fight, and Grasso being the slight favourite. I'd like to think a slight favourite would return higher odds than that, since a slight favourite suggests they're only marginally considered the favourite.
These odds are showing Grasso as a marginal favorite and it is showing these odds across the board on almost all oddsmakers books, atleast the ones I have looked at. And without a doubt going decision might be the way to go on this one since as you have said, it is a full five round fight.
Also Araujo is a grappler so expect it to go the distance.
Here is a good preview to watch before the fight for the contenders for the main event: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moq358HYWFw

This event from what I had heard late last night was going to be a closed event from the public.
Don't know if this is true but it was something to do with Mark Zuckerberg buying out the venue and restricting access by the media.

Watched the weigh-ins while they happened yesterday and all media were still there to film it, so still don't know about the media not being allowed in.
Glad I have UFC 24/7 station available so can watch it if the major networks are indeed being locked out for whatever reason this could be for.

Who else is getting ready for the biggest UFC card of the year (so they are saying of course!) happening November 12th?

They just released the poster so the excitement is already starting with over a month away:

The Diamond vs Chandler is getting more hype than the main event. Which I found funny.

Damn, only lost by two on that betslip and by the easier bouts on the card (boser and sabatini).
Overall it was a great fight between Sandhagen and Yadong.
Just too bad the referee had to stop it due to a cut over Song's eye and it closing completely.
Managed to get the Sandhagen KO @5.80x because it was ruled a TKO and the book graded it so.

UFC 279 was not in the Apex, it was in the T-Mobile Arena. The Apex is a much smaller place located in the headquarters of the UFC in Las Vegas. The T-Mobile Arena is a bigger place which is also located in Las Vegas hehehe.

Much of the arguments say Khamzat tricked Holland, however, I am quite certain the fight would have ended similarly with Khamzat the winner if did not trick Holland. I speculate Borz with Paddy the baddy to be the faces of the UFC.
Yeah, was watching the event and when I hear "Live from Las Vegas" when tuned into the UFC, I automatically think of the Apex. Hah!
Of course I was enjoying myself alittle too much and being like Nate Diaz that night. If you get what I mean. Cheesy
So wasn't totally concentrating on the tube until the fights actually begun.

Sort of like when they have ESPN numbered events along with it being announced as Vegas.
Such as this one coming up - UFC Fight Night 210
https://www.sherdog.com/events/UFC-Fight-Night-210-Sandhagen-vs-Song-93612
but is shown as UFC Vegas 60 by other sources

What an event and leaving the fans in the Apex wanting more!
They witnessed a grappler taking down his opponent as perfectly as possible and it was a sight to behold.

Now why did Holland even try to touch gloves right after the match had started?
They do that when they meet in the middle of the octagon at the very beginning.
Don't trust an opponent like Chimaev to be your friend or friendly once in the ring.
That was his first mistake. Then from there it went all down hill.
That choke hold finished him off quick and clean. Once again Khamzat was not touched in this match and goes 12-0.
They are saying his next opponent who could atleast be worthy enough to step in there and make it challenging for him would be Colby.

What does it implicate when Kevin touched gloves right after the match had started?

All of the fighters in his division can quickly be taken down by Khamzat from Edwards, Usman, or Covington. He is now considered the baddest villain in UFC. If he isn't going ahead to fight Edwards because Dana wants Usman vs Edwards rematch, then it's going to be hell for Covington. He could start planning his injury today to find an excuse.

The series is out of hand from canceling the press conference, Khamzat Chimaev misses his weight, and unexpected changes of the main card.

Nate Diaz vs. Tony Ferguson - At last one of the dream matches came true, a farewell match for Nate Diaz or end of career for Tony Feguson.

Kevin Holland vs. Khamzat Chimaev - This match will go for a 5 round decision or submission by Khamzat Chimaev.

Daniel Rodriguez vs. Li Jingliang - I'm rooting for Li Jingliang to win, I became a fan of his after watching the UFC 279 Embedded: Vlog Series

With the missed weigh by the main event fighter Chimaev.
So he fights Holland instead and Ferguson will fight Diaz.
Dana White announces it here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2LhWQp5y-k
This was truly an unexpected event. Khamzat Chiamev lost weight, actually I think he should have been defeated directly by me. Others think that Khamzat and his team escaped this match, thinking they did it to make it an easier match, but who knows. But now Khamzat has an easier opponent than Nate Diaz. As for the current main game. The Nate Diaz vs Tony Ferguson match is more meaningful because they both won the UFC TUF and the types who have been fighting here for years will be two real UFC OGs fighting. Considering it was Nate's last fight, it happened the way it was supposed to.

My thoughts for this match is that finishing Nate Diaz's conditioning will be very difficult for Tony Ferguson. I think this game is going to be a long five rounds and I think Nate will win by the referee's decision.

No, not at all.
It was Khamzat who started all these incidents so he didn't have to fight him in the first place. He didn't want the fight and wanted someone else as he has mentioned time and time again. Dana and the UFC didn't want to give him what he wished so he caused all these events to unfold so to get a new card done.
It is just that simple. Start a fight during the press conference so to get it cancelled and then miss weight by nearly 10 pounds so he couldn't fight him.
Just watch this video by one of my favorite youtuber source on the UFC: TheWeasle to find out what started all this to kick-off since the night before:

The discussion from same youtuber about the revision to the cards of Chimaev vs Holland and Diaz vs Ferguson:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKkgpG8oyrM

Odds have changed of course due to a new main event scheduled with Diaz against Ferguson:

they messed it up our picks. holland isn't going to win against khamsat still. all that happened yesterday and the cancelled conference was i think all because of this new sorting out. did the team sees nate will surely win that he he chicken out and they see kevin has the chance?
