Was a great night of fights in the land down under at UFC 284.
Who made some profit for the early Sunday morning during the main card?
Yair was a shoe in to win his bout during the co-main event. He won by leg triangle submission.
The main event went the distance and Volkanovski was certain he had won with the fury he had in the last round.
He was sure that was enough as it was a tight fight.
Many thought he had won but the judges thought differently as with the very first fight of the night with Zubaira Tukhugov vs Elves Brenner.
The announcers even said out loud the judges messed up the scorecards on that one.
But overall it was an exciting event and one not to forget for a while.

Seems that Rodrigues was over weight by a pound and I think during the ceremonial one they had mentioned Zubaira Tukhugov was over by a pound and a half as well.

The weigh-ins were done with the results looking good for everyone except for Rodrigues but I believe he still had time to cut weight some more and eventually did before the timer ended on the official window.

UFC 284 is quickly approaching with the weigh-ins just around the corner.

I was wondering for a long time, why we have this topic when we have 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread, as well as why it is self-moderated ? We are discussing same sport, same events, same promotion in two different places. The only reason I could come up with is that this topic is mostly for multi master challenge discussion, that is ran by sportsbet.io in games and rounds.
We have a new challenge btw. Where should we discuss UFC 284 then? Here because it might help to make a prediction, or in second topic, because it is viewed more and have more posts?

Quite the easy fight for The Polar Bear Sergey Spivak against a defeated Derrick Lewis late last night.
It wasn't even a challenge from the very start. He basically rag dolled him the entire time it took him to submit him on the ground.
Very disappointing way for him to go out since it didn't even look as if he wanted to fight as it ended early in the first round.
Atleast we got that out of the way and can get on with the big event coming up next weekend!
Buckle up UFC fans!
I was so shocked that Derrick Lewis lost embarrassingly in the first round of this fight, he didn't even counter Sergey Spivak from the start of the round to the neck on the ground, I've seen Derrick Lewis fight before but tonight's fight he was so different, I didn't even predict the fight will compete briefly and also without an even match. It wasn't even a challenge from the very start. He basically rag dolled him the entire time it took him to submit him on the ground.

UFC Fight night Main event fights this weekend are with the rematch that was suspended between Derrick Lewis vs Sergey Spivak.

Busy weekend in sports and glued to the tv all afternoon with so many sports going on all at the same time.
Completely forgot there was a UFC event in progress since it is in Brazil so started earlier than usual on a Saturday night.
The first two fights have already been done and now McKinney is fighting and it is a bruiser!
Saw another thread with someone saying they put over $2,500usd on one of the fights on the main card.
Moreno vs Figueiredo as the co-main event shouldn't be one to disappoint as it their fourth fight.
I wills say Figueiredo will win and settle this saga once and for all!

The last UFC was just closing when news broke heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou was leaving the UFC and in doing so giving up his title as well.
This was a very surprising thing to hear since the next big fight was set for him to face Jon Jones but with the unveiling of the banner with him fighting somebody else for 285 event the interviewer of MMAfighting Ariel Helwani confirmed on his podcast.

Don't know if it has been confirmed as it is still early but Sean Strickland is ready to take on Nassourdine Imavov for the main card.
