Another summertime UFC main event this time in London.
We have most of the usuals from the last one they held in the O2 arena back on March:

Here is the promotion for the event where you can win some prizes on guessing the correct winners of the matches:

What a way to lose the main event with a dislocated shoulder.
I believe Ortega has had several of his matches end in a strange and unsatisfying way like this.
With him not being able to finish the fight it ended in a technical knockout (TKO) by Yair.

Alot of Ortega bettors were of course very upset with this result but he had surgery on that very same shoulder.
The way he was locked into that armbar and then tried to pull himself out of it pulled the shoulder out of it's socket and he knew it was over.

@leea-1334 I had only 1 selection right in the predictions contest. My worst result yet for this weekly competition.
So we all have these droughts in the UFC.
When they go wrong they really go wrong.

@leea-1334 oh wow sounds like a betslip I had earlier today as well.
Hate those voided bets on a freebet because the odds get all screwed up and you get way less since the stake amount is subtracted from the total amount paid out.

Anyways we move on to the next match.

While looking for some information about the next matchup for UFC 278/279 look who I found.
My all time favorite fighter had a fan-made movie on how they made their rise in the ranks to where he is today:
KHAMZAT CHIMAEV - THE MOVIE
https://youtu.be/4UgNzRy7RKs

An interesting title I know, but very informative and it shows all his fight finishes so far in the octagon.

@leea-1334 A huge congratulations to you on the win for the weekly competition in the UFC!

Thank you,,, and here it is all wasted on stupid dumb football games  Grin

The funny thing actually is the second bet was settled yesterday and the Bodo/Glimt match was voided, I was not sure of the reason why. And I got 1.06 mbtc. But today it was settled again and of course they lost, so I got nothing. It was very fun however Smiley

@leea-1334 A huge congratulations to you on the win for the weekly competition in the UFC!

A major accomplishment since you beat out us who have been following the sport for sometime and have come up with a strategy to make your mark in these predictions.
So good on you my friend!

Coming up this weekend we have UFC on ABC which I haven't seen but they are at their third event on the American station.
The venue will be at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York.

Oh man so awesome, I just won the UFC prediction contest,,, first place I mean, Harkorede and tomahawk09 also won it.

Actually this time was a bit random I chose 4 or 5 favorites oddswise and the rest I selected all the names on the LEFT side. Which leads me to ask this question, left side is usually the defender and right side is the challenger,,, am I correct? Or they mean nothing? Smiley

Fights are about to begin for the night of the event for ESPN.
But it looks like we have a bout cancellation even before it starts.

Cynthia Calvillo vs. Nina Nunes is not going to happen due to non-covid related illness of one of the fighters.
Still this fight night is going to another one to watch!

Good luck to those who have bets on any of the bouts like I do.

Believing in Cannonier cost a win 75x betslip for the weekend but it was on a free bet of usdt so nothing lost but it was a fun to do.

Had only three incorrect over all so most of the favorites won except for the very first fight of the night with Rose Clark and Sugar O got ended due to an eye poke.

I do the one underdog strategy because of the mentality of high risk high reward.
It is only one-leg so might as well go for the best case scenario.
The only problem is selecting which one will fail in their bout.

The odds for Cannonier must of declined significantly. But I will still stick with him as he is the most level headed fighter on the card and doesn't make himself out to be what he is not.
Like what Adesanya is always trying to do. And that was his downfall in having this blemish on his record losing to Blachowicz.

Not such good fortune for me this UFC, I tried to do a bit different other than 1/2 bets and went for handicaps and rounds but missed out on 2 of the games so a failed multibet. Almost got the insurance back but anyway, nice try enough for me.

Too bad about Cannonier, I think you were right about him wanting to try get the submission which made Israel super careful.

A win is a win though right?

Maybe put a multibet on 3 favorites and 1 underdog. Because usually there is atleast one who sneaks in a win against a heavy favorite in every one of these main events.
If they didn't then vegas would be paying out everyone huge winnings each and every weekend for these UFC events.

Watching the press conference and Cannonier is my heavy underdog to win. He is 4.60x last time I checked the odds on him earlier in the day. Those will definitely change closer to when the fight happens.
Tomorrow are the weigh-ins so will see if anyone misses weight again. Of course I doubt they will have any strange things happen like losing a belt or something weird like that.
From all these press conferences and interviews before the fights, Strickland is just the worst and I hope Alex knocks him out early because he is the loudest mouth and has said the dumbest things so far. Where even the one who isn't even fighting got into an argument with him on stage (Adesanya).

It is all hype to get people to pay for those PPVs to watch it all go down on Saturday night.
We all know the drill.

3 favorites and 1 underdog I see as dangerous because ONE favorite will fail,,, unless you use all 3 with something like 1.1 anything more is too dangerous for me in any bet. Failed all the time  Roll Eyes

And in this round, there is no 1.1 the biggest is only Adesanya and that is just 1.18, Cannonier only 3.95, so it is quite a tough one.

In the end I went for this. I never bet decimal amount before, since this is USDT,,, I try something different!

UFC 276 has the attention this weekend for all who watch MMA as this is the most stacked card to date in the UFC.
Championship titles on the line and also up and comers who want a shot at the title are also fighting for a chance.

Here is you chance to win some prizes for putting your selections on who you think will win their bouts in this star studded event:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--5404386

Could be worth another strategy to multibet since so much is on the line for a lot of the matches. I might go for multibet of 3 or 4 main favorites (but not heavy ones), one more multibet of 3 main must-win matches, and 3 separate singles on upsets.

$5 USDT on each so $15 USDT, for a small weekend of entertainment Wink

Thanks! Was actually a late bet last night, popped it in shortly before lights out, was actually rdbase who suggested the opener, backtracking from a post from Welsh on another thread. If your luck is bad and your bets worse, could be refreshing to get perspective from others every now and then.

Gamrot was an upset yeah, fight reports suggested he was a little under water in the first 2 rounds from the Armenian but recovered for takedowns and points in the final.

Only 3 KOs I counted, after a bout of so many!

True, and not true,,, at least for me it still works as badly as when I make my own picks. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not, and generally better when I have no personal affiliation for the team/person I am betting on. It is really weird that when you think you know more about the sport, you can make unnatural decisions.

Anyway, yes I think the younger fighter was very very upset with the late loss to Gamrot, he will be hopefully less favored by the odds in next game, but as a result, a value pick to win.
It is true. He is only 25 years old so he has alot to learn and go thru in the octagon I will have to agree with you.
Gamrot knew when to score the points to bring the match into his favor and in the judges eyes when it was all said and done.
That is where being the more experienced fighter helps out the most to win a fight.

Well done indeed buwaytress!
The first and last matches of the night were upsets which seem to be a theme in these fights in vegas, to me atleast.
I like to put larger wagers on the main events which is why I will put my bets on the favorites in the next for this first weekend in July to kick it off.

They even put the countdown for UFC 276 before the fight night had started yesterday:

Wow buway, well done on the win, you even got it boosted to over 3x,,, pretty sure when I looked at it during my predictions this was only 2.5x (with boost 2.6). Odds kept going higher I guess like most fights when people bet more and more on the favorite so it could actually pay to look at the odds as soon as they come out, and note them down and take them when they rise up like this fight.

Fight even finished in R3, but I think the main upset was Gamrot right? The odds were even a bit higher for Gamrot I believe 2.9x when I looked.
