Evil beware: We have waffles!
I also wonder on what will be there treatment regarding to Bitcoin addiction since for my personal perspective they are just riding the fame since provably bitcoins gaining popularity in the UK and some medical institution want to gain from this and create a Bitcoin addiction syndrome or what so ever they call it and I really wonder if there's a patient confined already on hospital there.
If the rehab program is anything like those for cocaine addiction the 1st thing done is that the rehab facility drains your bank account by charging you nearly every penny you have for treatment. No 'spare' money = no way to feed your addiction...

Lol Cheesy. I don’t know, but this is the funniest thing I’m seeing today, how the heck does one have Bitcoin addiction? Well, if there is such thing as an addiction for Bitcoin, then it’s not for me. And moreover, if people invest their money in Bitcoin, I don’t see anything wrong with them putting focus on it, it wouldn’t be bad because nobody would invest their money in an asset and not keep their mind on it to avoid being at loss.

You need to know what’s happening with the market you’re investing your money, although that doesn’t mean that you should be carried away with it to the extent forgetting to your life and other important that you’re meant to give your attention.

Hahaha. I never noticed this topic.

What's the treatment for Bitcoin addiction? Forced-sniffing newly printed bills, while being repeatedly lectured with propaganda about why the Central Bank is the only true path to a "normal non-addicted life"?
Im wondering too on what would be the cure for this one, maybe those medical staffs will just keep telling you that "FIAT ALL THE WAY".
Just like on what others been thinking on how the hell they do make this possible on making such Bitcoin addiction. It has nothing to do
on someones possesion if he decide to accumulate it via means of trading or too much engagement on it.Just like on doing hard work
just for you to get that salary.

So there are people that needed Bitcoin Therapy Specialist already. But good thing UK already established program to this so called "Bitcoin Addiction". Well if they will be paid doing it why not. Win-Win situation for Therapist and Patient.

According to their site it's not Bitcoin addiction but addiction to day trading.
https://castlecraig.co.uk/treatment/behavioral-addictions/bitcoin-addiction-treatment

I wouldn't want to be treated by someone who obviously doesn't know anything about Bitcoin.

Quote
Chris Burn, a gambling therapist at Castle Craig Hospital says, “the high risk, fluctuating cryptocurrency market appeals to the problem gambler. It provides excitement and an escape from reality. Bitcoin, for example, has been heavily traded and huge gains & losses were made. It’s a classic bubble situation.

They said it in 2018 and some poor guys went there and paid for a therapy that stopped them from buying in 2019 Grin
They literally paid to be stopped from making money on Bitcoin.

Then they should be in rehab for gambling, not "Bitcoin  addiction". The OP's title is very misleading, although it would also be very funny if there truly was a "Bitcoin addiction". I would be one of the patients. Haha.

That news is scary. There are people who are reaching the point where they are already addicted to bitcoin, in fact it is not impossible to happen because all the things in the world when you don't control, it can really lead to addiction. They may have come to the point where they can no longer sleep due to waiting for fluctuation overnight until every day this is what they did and this is what they always have in their mind. We must learn to limit the use of bitcoin and do not let our world revolve around it because anything too much can also be detrimental to our health.

Therefore we must be able to control ourselves, not to be obsessed with Bitcoin, liking Bitcoin is not prohibited. By paying attention
to its movements, predicting its price, and reading news about Bitcoin. All these things anyone is free to do as long as they are still
within reasonable limits. But if we do all that too much, until forgetting to eat and exercising. Then don't socialize with the surrounding
environment, all of that is not healthy and we may have become addicted. If it is like that, it requires immediate help, and a rehab
program must be carried out. So UK hospitals provide facilities for Bitcoin addiction, maybe there is a high number of addictions to Bitcoin,
if so it is appropriate with these facilities.

While HODLers can successfully quit cold turkey, BTC traders need to do it steadily. Akin to methadone threatment for heroin addicts, they let BTC junkies check graphs twice a day and make a couple of shitcoin transactions.
That is a funny one  Cheesy. Yeah that is a good therapy forcing addicts to make a few shitcoin transaction.

Coming into the rehab program i am not sure whether it is a serious addiction but if people are using bitcoin for gambling then it is a different story as they need help. If anyone needs help for anything so be it and a hospital is providing a service but it has become a headline news and that surprised me Grin.

Time to face the truth lads, cryptos are nothing but a filthy addiction, not much different to gambling.

UK hospital launches rehab programme for bitcoin addiction

You don't have to live like this. There's more to life. GET HELP NOW!

The governments have always try to defame the image of crypto world and most probably Bitcoin due to its vast growing popularity among masses as they fear of losing control over fiscal operations due to btc usage at large scale. The opening of this type of rehab center is such a practice by them and how the hell you treat them with indulging them in trading with fiat transactions? So just ignore all these negative news and make all the efforts to rise and lift others with strenghting btc power in few years ahead.

This is ridiculous news.  I don't know how the UK can take such a step.  They should make such arrangements for those who are addicted to Facebook.  Bitcoin can never be the subject of addiction.  That Facebook is harmful for the young generation, It is foolish not to take any action for that.  And it is better not to have so much fun with the bitcoin that is made for the welfare of the people.

there are some persons that can be addicted to everything (literally). it's not a process related to something specific but it's just how their brain works. Did you remember on 2014 or 2017 pump how many people have sold even their house just to buy bitcoin?
Probably this is a sort of disease "believe to get rich fast"... I am curious to see if DSM https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DSM-5 will add this addiction to their compendium.

Utter nonsense! I see this as an organized effort sponsored by an organized corporate entity to de-frame bitcoin. If this hospital want to genuinely help people, they should start rehabilitation program to come out of facebook addiction. This facebook addiction is actually harmful for the society which only fills up company's account without fetching any personal benefit.

I agree with you. Addicting in bitcoin is worth than being addicted in facebook because facebook already destroyed many relationship and it also bring bad things and mentality to young people about many things that published on their plarform. Addicting in bitcoin can give you a good future and you can earn a lot if you know about it.

Was supposed to say the same thing on where Bitcoin addiction is much better than Facebook or other social media platform addiction.  Grin

Its worth on the sense that you can make money out of that addiction not just on gaining some friends on social media which doesnt really mean a thing.I dont know on why they do get rid of it
and just let people do the things on their own. They decided to engage that much with Bitcoin and yes it might really have some cons but this is better rather than
wasting up your time on things that doesnt really even let you earn a penny.

Rehab program? Its nonsense but since it is already created then some bitcoin addicts might find it useful but honestly is this kind of addiction really that harmful to someone?

addicted to Bitcoin??  I just found out there is this kind of this addiction "lol"..

Addiction is a condition that makes a person lose control of something. Usually, this refers to an over liking and driven by a strong desire or liking for one thing
my question is whether anyone likes Bitcoin so much that they forget to eat, drink, shower, or have sex??  addiction to Bitcoin is not much different from the addiction to work that many people experience because it ultimately makes money.  addiction to Bitcoin in my opinion is very positive than addiction to twitter, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram or youtube.. addicted to crypto? this sounds strange to me. and to say crypto as something dirty is redundant and even outrageous. Crypto trading does rely on fluctuations for traders looking for a profit, but can it really damage / change someone's behavior?
I also take the point from the article "A UK hospital is offering treatment for bitcoin addicts, aimed at helping people "who have developed a compulsion to trade the cryptocurrency". What does "compulsion" mean here? Has crypto really forced someone to involved?
