Does someone see the thread and think it is a spammy duplicate and report it or not?

No. Some topics contained a useful information but they were trashed. It wasn't a spam. Just their theme crossed with the theme of another topic. I want to clarify this situation for myself.

If there is only one old topic with the same theme, then creating a new one will be to violate rules?

The title of this thread "Unofficial list of (official)....". It's all down to individual interpretation. Does someone see the thread and think it is a spammy duplicate and report it or not?

There is but there are so many that they don't all get reported and trashed.

Ok, can I ask the last questions?

These topics violate the point 12 or the point 1?

1. Such posts like "SELL SELL SELL", "I agree", "+1", "Support", "Watching", "Interesting", "LOL", "SCAM", "LEGIT", "FAKE", other one word posts, posts consisting mostly of swearing, quote pyramids, useless introduction threads, threads about a topic already recently discussed in several other threads.

12. No duplicate posting in multiple boards (except for re-posting it in the local language boards if it's translated).

If there is only one old topic with the same theme, then creating a new one will be to violate rules?

There are no problems with reports in the Russian board.

Thanks. In fact, I'm more interested in point 2. Topics with a similar theme (and different content) are deleted in the Russian board, with reference to rule 12. And it is recommended to write your post in the existing topic. I just want to know, is there same practice in the main boards?

(sorry for my English grammatic)

I have a dual understanding of the 12:

  • you can't copy postings to other boards.
  • you can't create a topic if there is a similar one.

I don't know which one is right. Maybe both?

You can't create same topic any where irrespective of the board. Only exception is if Topic is created in one language, and you are going to translate the same thread in some other language, this is allowed.

For example there is a topic (you created), this topic is in Russian board "Bыбopы нaчaлиcь!", you can't create same thread again any where.
Now if you want to create same thread in English/Chinese or any other language  other than Russian, this is legal.

NOTE: be very very careful if you are going to translate someone's topic without seeking permission or without citing the source it is considered plagiarism and will result in permanent ban.

Ok great , after I read this unofficial list of ( official ) Bitcointalk.org rules , guidlines . Now I as newbie become more undesttood , but  I still have question, why deleted my comment if I comment in off topic .
Isn't it pretty obvious? If you want to talk about Ethereum, create your own thread (AND IN THE RIGHT SECTION) instead of posting something totally off topic in a thread about Bitcoin.

Surprisingly it has never been done.
Hope it will help French speakers to better understand the forum rules.
Added to the list of translations, thanks.

Posted an airdrop in Announcements (Altcoins), but it got deleted. Any thoughts on why that could be?

It probably fell under rule 1.

1. No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads.

Did your post say anything interesting or informative that hadn't already been said in the thread?

Can anyone explain how this rule works, is it some kind of selective?

This is about forum altcoin giveaways, not altcoin giveaways in general. If you start a thread with something like: "You comment in that thread and receive our super-duper-tokens on your wallet right away", you violate that rule. Also you violate that rule, if you reply in a thread like this. But you don't violate anything, if your thread (or thread you'd like to participate in) contains info, that the airdrop takes place somewhere beyond bitcointalk.org.

Although, considering this:

post like this can get a ban?

I'd rather refer to another sticky topic from Bounties (Altcoins) section and p.1 of the forum rules.

Giveaway threads are not allowed
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/giveaway-threads-are-not-allowed-2103687

I would like to register in airdropah, but the possibility of getting a ban stops me, although such distribution topics are very much in the section bounty and airdrop.

Or in  Bounties (Altcoins) not banned for this?

You can join bounties and airdrops. But you will get banned if you make random tashy spammy posts.

If you make 100% of your posts in that form then it is possible, if you put a fake social media id then it is possible too.

-- i meant list of acronyms not list of abbreviations. link for acronyms would really helpful.
Acronyms are abbreviations formed from words, what's the difference?

Just use Google search for common acronyms, most of them aren't exclusive to this forum.
Like NSFW (Not Safe For Work) ex: Pornographic/Gore/Drugs images.
Also, when replying a followup to your question, use "edit" and mark the edited part as edit (if necessary) for a nicer format.  Wink

I did not notice that there is an option to edit previous post. Thank you so much for this.  Grin

10. No embedded NSFW images anywhere. NSFW content must be marked accordingly.
