Bounty programs are about to be outlawed in the United States. They (Congress?) just ruled that Bounty Programs represent promotion of an investment and therefore bounty program participants, those that promote the ICO via their signature, cannot be paid for that promotion. How they'll police that law is anyones guess but it's now about to be illegal for an American, in America to participate in an ICO bounty program...specifically due to to the bounty.

I think bounties are still here to stay, at least most certainly till this ICO craze starts to die down. It is primarily thanks to that.
Though what bounty hunters should look for is the legitimacy of a project and whether enough money has been allocated to certain campaigns within the bounty. Also who the campaign manager is and their trustworthiness. Bounties will also start to die down if companies cheap out and do not want to go with proper managers and decide to do it themselves. I feel like a little bit of trust is lost when that happens.
