Is there a simple mathematical calculation derived from info on the public block explorers that can derive the approximate rewards per block?  I heard the reward varies and to get an accurate picture for my site, I need to figure out what is the block reward for mining.

Can someone who is knowledgable provide some predictions for the future supply of bitbars?

I would like to know at what rate they are being mined, and what is the predicted supply in say:

1 week
4 weeks
3 months
6 months

Currently we have (http://bitbar.info/stats/index.php):

BitBar Network Stats:

(Last updated: 2013-05-08 00:56:53 UTC/GMT)
Difficulty: 20.0722
Total block: 6482
Total money supply: 2747.91921
Last block reward: 0.156952
Network hash rate (Gh/s): 0.599

They premined 110,000 NVC.
They put that 110,000 NVC into an exchange to try to sell off..
You are trying to present things as you like. But reality was a little different. "They" put 110,000 instamine into an exchange admin wallet. Almost two days before NVC/BTC trades started. After this "they" wrote step-by-step instruction, how to destroy this coins and verify this.

So, there is a major difference - NVC emission is decentralized and fair. BTB emission is centralized by early adopters, it makes network weaker. 18M PPC or 290k NVC (and growing, ~ 1k coins per day) in thousands of hands provides significant more stable system, than 2.7k BTB in hundreds of hands. And it's serious difference, because such direct centralization is the worst possible scenario. Even worse than ASICs. If you like trusted wallets and centralization, it will be simpler to use solidcoin.

Can't wait to see an automated bitbar exchange

I've said it before, but I'd like to see a waiting period first. New alts need to establish themselves first. You don't want a re-run of feathercoin/chinacoin/etc dumps. Better to establish a good network hashrate, good circulation (most important), and good name before getting onto an exchange.

I want to see more people take advantage of the free giveaway thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=194324.220

The more people who have wallets, who have installed the client already, and even just have 0.01BTB in their account the better. That's how you get an alt adopted and accepted.

It would be very interesting to see how the BitBars are traded if/when they hit an
automated exchange.

And especially what the initial offer will be...

Actually that would make a good bet..

What will the initial Bid/Ask be??

I think it will open at 2 BTC+ initially. Then again maybe even higher, FTC and CHN opened at way higher rates than I expected.

Initially somewhere between 1-2BTB, probably not for long though.

I wonder how many crypto's are holding BitBars and not communicating for fear of ridicule.
I can understand the hesitation in voicing an opinion; there are some strong characters on Bitcointalk  Cheesy

Probably the altcoin equivalent of saying you own a scooter while with your motorcycle club at this point.

I don't care though, I got a nice big shiny pink one with white racing stripes.  :p  It will be neat if this turns into something...if not...I lost a few days of mining...big whoop.

Are there any exchanges that trade it?

Most likely bter.com will support it, since it added the joke coin BQC, that only has 1/4 of BTB network's hash rate.

BQC has hower been out for a very long time.

I pinged bter.com about bitbar, here's the response I got:

Hi,

Very interesting to us. We are going to learn more about it and watch people's talk in the community.
We are going to support it if plenty number of people would like to accept it.

Best,
Bter

Interesting. Though I think that before being added to exchanges they should be allowed to grow and test themselves a little bit first.

You don't want a repeat of the feathercoin/chncoin debacle on btc-e.

TL;DR

Is there a bitbar pool out there? What's the current difficulty?

Thanks

And of course the nethash page of the explorer API

http://btb.cryptocoinexplorer.com/chain/BitBar/q/nethash

How do I read that exactly? I notice for the most recent block in the list, it's showing 143639548 ...so 143MH/s ... that differs from the figure shown on the other stats page, so I assume I'm reading it incorrectly.

I think he needs to alter algorithm for ppc based coin. The binarycoins pool alone has 100 MH/s. My estimate of hash rate is more in line with the difficulty I believe.

Hmmm, it looks like you may be right.

The POS vs POW blocks is throwing it off.

For now I will put a warning on the PPC based coin explorers about nethash not being accurate.

I Don't know exactly how to fix the algo. I cannot just ignore the POS blocks, yet they throw the calculation off.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
