As always, i've written my review without looking at other reviews... Looking at what other people already wrote is going to influence me, so i don't have the habit of doing this... However, this also means (some of) the parts of my review might be redundant.

This review is a work in progress... I might add other stuff while playing around, and i might decide to add some screenshots later on... I have the screenshots saved, but i'd need to obfuscate parts of the images, and I don't really have the time to do that right now.

Down to the actual review:

Installation
I've installed utopia on my laptop running opensuse leap 15 SP4. The installation was really straight foreward:

the installation of the mining bot was equally easy:

for those who don't know, installing rpm packages on SLES (or opensuse for that matter) is easyest with using zypper instead of rpm... You could have used `rpm -Uvh utopia-latest.x86_64.rpm`, but then you'd have to install the dependencies manually (utopia had one dependency, but it was readily available on opensuse's repo).

Usage
In my initial testrun, i tried out most of the features of utopia... Here i'm listing my first remarks after using the app for about an hour:

• umail: tried to send an encrypted mail to myself... Didn't work (could not add myself to the address book). The mail client looked a bit clunky, but all the features i requires were right there. The biggest downside would be that i'd need somebody's public key, add said key to my address book, and then use the address book in order to send somebody a message.... However, in a privacy related setting, i think that's the only way that would actually work, so i'm not listing this as a downside
• im: had a short conversation, everything was intuitive... There was a little lag, but not more than i'd expect with completely encrypted communication in an anonymous setup
• channels: eventough the default channel was a tad bit slow for my liking (content wise, not due to lagging), it worked great... I joined some other channels aswell, everything worked as expected. Adding channels was also pretty straight foreward, and the integration of the browser was also a big plus
• wallet: worked fine aswell... I especially like the feature to anonimise yourself a bit by ordering a card, aswell as the voucher system and the airdrop (eventough i never got any CRP aidropped)
• the networking part including uNS, Whois, Idyll Browser and Web Proxy: i get an i2p mixed with a tor (without exit nodes) vibe... If the anoninimity is proven and trust is gained, i think this feature will be huge... The learning curve is less steep than i2p or tor, and the end result is the same. I couldn't get the proxy working tough, so AFAIK, there's no such thing as an exit node in order to use utopia to anonimise "clearnet browsing"
• games: i'm not really a gambler myself... I tried opening the poker window, but i couldn't find a game to join

Positive points of utopia

• after startup, the initial wizard was very easy to work with, very intuitive... I liked the fact that i was immediately able to see my pubkey and the rest of the screens were actually really usefull (sometimes apps fill those wizard screens with useless stuff, utopia's was filled with all the basic info i needed to know to get started)
• it’s an all in one shop when it comes to private communication… I tested some features out, and it looks great.
• i like the i2p/tor-like setup when it comes to network configuration  and security... To bad the name registration fee was higher than my test-CRP amount or i would have tried to convert a website to a site on utopia
• You can get the internal currency, which you'll need for uNS, trough a POS algo (which is good... This application doesn't need a POW currency where we'd have to burn a lot of power to get some CRP), or trough a faucet, or trough an airdrop.. Offcourse, it can also be traded... I like the fact that, if the need to register a name would ever arise, i have several options to get CRP (and the name registration is pretty cheap aswell i've seen)

Negative points of utopia

• the rpm package wasn't signed... `rpm -qpi utopia-latest.x86_64.rpm | grep Signature` resulted in `Signature   : (none)`. Signing a package isn't that hard... I do it all the
  time at work... If you're not signing the rpm, at least offer a detached signature and the pubkey of the developer(s)
• it's not open source... I know the team addressed this issue in it's FAQ, but still... I like my privacy tools either open source, or from a company i trust... I don't really like security trough obscurity, especially for an app whose biggest selling point is security and anonimity. I want to be able to verify what's happening under the hood...
• network useage: a raw estimation after running utopia for 1 hour would be a network useage of ~50Gb/day... I'm still on a metered internet connection, and i cannot run a tool that would burn 1,5 Tb/month
• some screens look a tad bit "dated". I'm a technical guy myself, so i don't really mind, but i guess some people might be missing the network's potential because the gui doesn't look flashy
• i had to kill the app, just closing the gui did not stop the process…
• the network needs more traction... It's kind of slow in the chat...
• the mining bot requires a VPS with 4 vcpu's and 4 Gb RAM... That's actually quite a bit vps wise... I got rid of my dedicated server earlyer this year, and i couldn't run the bot on the VPS i replaced my dedicated box with since it only has 2 Gb RAM

Usually, when i write reviews, i also like to take a peek under the hood, but in this case this is impossible, since all "under the hood" information i'd get would be info given to me trough documentation or FAQ articles, and not verified by me... So i'd rather skip that part...

I had a fantastic experience registering on Utopia.

The onboarding process felt like a guided tour, providing a concise overview of how the Utopia ecosystem operates, complete with step-by-step instructions.
What I found particularly enjoyable was the tab system functionality. Like a browser.
Users can seamlessly manage multiple tasks by opening them as new tabs, a feature I frequently use due to the platform's extensive array of tools.
Additionally, the notification messages displayed on the Utopia software thumbnail are quite handy.

I appreciate the decision to employ a tab, like browser, for navigating different sections of the app; it makes navigation quicker and more straightforward compared to using a Sidebar. I love the social options of this app. Like update mood, chat and send email and other stuff.

Having all the typical functions found in an exchange, such as swapping, makes it convenient. I really liked the voucher feature; it looks great, and I will definitely give it a try. I also appreciated the mining feature, although it requires a substantial amount of currency to stake.

I didn't fully grasp how the airdrop works; I need to study it thoroughly as it's in English, and I have to translate it better. I find it fantastic that it's included in the program.

In conclusion, the UI is charming, quite lovely (although not modern), and most importantly, it's functional, putting everything at your fingertips. You have everything in a single program.
The adept ones mention that it's also very privacy-conscious, so all the better. In short, a job well done.

The UTOPIA Desktop APP Review

On an overall, the Utopia app can be said to be the 8th wonder of the world in the blockchain space, putting all of its features together is a genius idea and its funtionality with it. I though this was going to be the future, never knew the future was right before my very eyes.

Haven read through the pages of this thread, I found loads of reviews. However, I have a concern or two to state as my own reviews;

Welcome Screen & App Download:

The welcome screen can have the app download details embedded into it's first page rather than the fourth page. This is because people might likely close the welcome screen after/upon seeing the first page, and that defeats the aim of having the app downloaded. In the order of priority, the app download link should come first (just my consideration anyway). Pictorially: Frame 2 should be embedded into Frame 1.

 

Public Key & Username:

I understand Utopia has Privacy enshrined in its core but within the Utopia ecosystem, especially on its chat space, every account has a username and these usernames have Public Keys tied to it. It will be ideal if users do no need to share their Public Key but can recieve CRP coin via their username. As I understand, one must input complete transaction details to track a particular transaction, the username alone doesn't expose such details neither does the Public Key. I think this needs to be reviewed except its considered as Utopia's competitive advantage. Although, in the channels, you can find the channel owner's public key on the description page.



Swap Tx Time:

It seems the first time an account swaps from CRP coin to UUSD, it takes approximately 90 seconds (as observed during my first swap, and also as complained by another reviewer), othe subsequent swaps from UUSD back to CRP coin took about 4 seconds (as observed). Maybe you have to check on the delay with the first swap on every Public Key.
Secondly, after every swap transaction, it takes about 10-20 seconds for the new balance to reflect. It hapended on the two swaps I performed. I believe the dealyed feedback can be worked on.






Delegated POS:

The list of the Validators should be populated in the columns, to enable one choose from it without going through the rigour of searching for validators. Except it is being Validated by the Utopia foundation/team as they are still expecting to have more validators.




Crypto Card:

The idea of Crypto card creation is a wonderful one to further enhance the privacy which Utopia preaches. But I consider the cost of creation a bit on the high side. And the cost of customising it to unique names is way higer, with 100% extra cost on each character added. When the price of Utopia futuristically hits, say $1 or $10, I don't think the card creation concept can stand the competition amongst it peers. The cost of creating the card should be reviewed and made affordable and possibly pegged to an exact dollar cost.




Font Size:

The font size by default is set to normal but its normal is too small and might be better if set to Medium as the Medium looks standard enough for a read without stressing the eyes. Not everyone wants to navigate to setting for the very first time of visiting the app.



In Conclusion

UTOPIA can be said to be the 8th wonder of the world in the blcokchain space and about Private coin networks, it hold the highest value and I see the future of privacy coins taking after the Utopian concept.

My Review of Utopia P2P Ecosystem

Language - Indicated in the Utopia website, the Utopia app is translated into 29 languages.


After installing, the language available shows only 23 languages. I actually have my hopes up that my local language might be included in the options.


Log-in - I already have an account as I participated in the bounty section review.
Good thing that it has an option of "import account". I don't see the "forgot password" option if anyone chooses to use the username and password to log in. Better to add this one even if there's an import account option.


Wallet, games & public chat - As I have mentioned, I have participated in the bounty campaign review, so I didn't wait for the free 5CRP.
The wallet is beginner-friendly. It clearly indicates the use of every function.
Two games are currently available, Poker and Chess. I really wanted to try poker, however, there's no one available to play with (already asked in the chat lobby, but no one is available). But all in all, for me it's good to have these kinds of entertainment.
For messaging/public chat, I think adding a react emoji button could be better for better engagement.



Chat support - Different functions in AI chat support, not only for the concerns of the users but also to give entertainment. If ever no one is available to talk to in the chat lobby, AI can be a good option to use your pastime.


Theme - I really like the theme selection. Especially for someone like me who has a better readability with dark mode. There are two options, the dark, and the Classic dark.


My personal conclusion
Utopia Ecosystem is an interesting work. It is indeed an all-in-one application that provides entertainment, messaging, public communication, email, wallet, and sending/receiving payments. For people who do not want to open different applications for different functions, this is a perfect application.

Review of the Utopia Ecosystem.

The interface and user experience

I had a very good experience signing up on the utopia. The process of onboarding was like a tour and a journey giving a brief introduction on ow the utopia ecosystem works. (Like the step-by-step process). What i enjoy the most is the functioning of tab system. Were users can perform multiple at ones by opening it as a new tab since the platform has a lot of features that the user would to use almost every time. Also, the notifications messages that shows on the Utopia software thumbnail.

Tools-Mining Bots

I noticed I could not run the Utopia mining bots on my computer. I don't know the reason for it, but perhaps most systems have only 4090 MB of available RAM. Or perhaps it must be a dedicated server with a specific operating system. It seems the bot is only available for Linux.



Last the idyll browser is not working. I cant make a search or even enter a domain name and it worked.



Conclusion
The Utopia Ecosystem is such a big shot with great Tecnologies integrated ill call it an all in built platform for everything concerning P2P. I never new it ecomprises of so many features which a lot of platform dont have or unable to integrate.
