for the time being sports such as soccer are no longer in place there are no official matches announced by world sports before the world problem VIRUS COVID-19 can be resolved, because the world has not found a drug or vaccine that is effective for this covid-19 virus

We all know that the vaccine for Covid-19 virus has not yet been found and is still being tested in the laboratory, maybe all countries until now it is still a mystery and the question can be obtained at any time for this covid-19 vaccine so that to prevent transmission of all sports there is no audience and players must care about health

If we have to wait for the vaccine to be found there will be no certainty in time. The current vaccine is still in the testing stage,
the possibility of a vaccine can be found later this year or early next year from the news that I read on the internet. In my opinion
the second best choice, we can restart sports events. With several considerations, as required follow the health protocol, there are
no spectators at the venue, and keep a distance between the reserve players and staff. If the provisions are obeyed, then the match
in this pandemic corona crisis will be safe and run smoothly.

All the scientists around the globe are working day and night for the vaccine. I hope that they will come with a vaccine/cure process very soon. But experts say that a vaccine needs times to develop, it could have terrible side effects. In particular, to measure the side effects, it needs a fair amount of time. It is also quite possible that scientists failed to make any vaccine for it in the near future. There are lots of diseases like HIV, hepatitis C and more which are decades old but still have not any vaccine.
So the question is how long world can afford for a vaccine. I think we need to resume it slowly with proper precautions.

I believe that the scientist will found the vaccine to cure people infected from the virus. The scientist needs to test the vaccine before they give the vaccine to the people because the scientist needs to make sure that it really works for them.
of course they will find a vaccine but the thing is when?this is not getting better as the virus is coming back and bringing second waves.
I think the world will survive until scientists can found the vaccine, and the world will find how they can struggle in hard situations like this. People itself still trying to stay at home and still survive because they believe that they can help the government to reduce the infected people from the virus.
survive?yes the world will but the damage?this is what the main concern here as the longer this virus are affecting the world is the worst the economy brings.

I'm with choice B...
it's impossible to wait until the end of this year or next year to restart a soccer match, the losses will be huge, the match can still be done without an audience, so every sports lover still has a reason to stay at home, that is watching a sports match.

I personally feel that for any such big events till the time the vaccine is not prepared and trial and tested the big events will either gets postponed or will be cancelled. Nobody will be ready to take risks of their life just to put the shown on. May be if conducted may not receive that participation that would have otherwise in normal time.

There are sports that slowly getting back on their feet, so I guess players are willing to take that risk because of the love of the sports. And as far as the vaccine, it will really take some time to develop. So instead of just sitting it out, many sport governing bodies is going to continue with restrictions as I have said. They can show the sports on TV, maybe do a pay-per-view or something. At least we should see sports evolved in this crisis.

Right now its seem like option B is what is happening. UFC and some other sports like boxing were held. They gradually resume because the love for sports is much greater than the risks.  Grin

When you are in your house for several days without doing anything but browsing the youtube, its gets boring that you need to watch something new like some ballgames or boxing.

Let's face the reality. The world can't afford to wait for long for sports events to come back. The vaccine is a must but it doesn't mean they will wait for a 100% completion for this before returning back. I'm not saying back to its usual but at least, slowly developing while waiting for the vaccine.

The creation of a vaccine is serious. It's not a joke. And the sensitive part, it was made in rush. Risky to just test it right away to person even the result is good. It needs more tests. I admire our experts around the globe for making that happen as soon as possible.

I'm with Letter A but looking at the reality, it will not happen. There is no shortcut for the creation of the vaccine. Take note also of the production limit and the cost. Even let's say tomorrow, there will be a vaccine, the distribution of it will take time. Much better to have strict regulations instead for businesses to follow once they come back, including the sports industry.

I am terrible at Fantasy Football!!!
Most sports events are halted, suspended, postponed, and canceled because of the pandemic virus for about to 1-2 months now. Within that short period, the damage is serious so I can't imagine if it will take a year or over.

Seen several posts here about the vaccine that should be made first before resuming. It makes sense and the best thing to do but providing the timeframe of creating a vaccine against Covid-19 that might take a year(s), is the world can afford to wait for that vaccine?

So what do you think?

a) wait for the vaccine even it will take years, end of the discussion

b) resume slowly with several considerations such as no audience, limited number of staffs or any important things to do before considering resuming, unless the area or place was heavily affected

Since it's almost impossible to expect a vaccine until the end of the year or maybe the 3rd quarter of the next year, I will go with B but with lots of considerations (But I'm hoping I'm wrong. We all want the vaccine and experts around the world are truly working hard for it).
It will depend on the sport and its popularity, there are sports that are so popular all around the world like soccer that the most famous leagues can afford to play without any audience and still generate profits due to the television rights and the increased viewership they will get due to the lockdown, but there are many other sports and leagues that are not that popular and they need people to attend to their events to be profitable and as such those sports should not resume their activities so quickly.

So the question is how long world can afford for a vaccine. I think we need to resume it slowly with proper precautions.
Well, that is it. We all want the vaccine so everything may go back to normal but I will choose option [ b. ] because people in the sporting event needs to work as well for their living. Perhaps not be the same as before but still it may help not only the all staff and athletes, the players to start earning but also other employees as well that are being paid per game and to mention sports bettors may start to do betting again, --but with enhancing restriction for the safety of all the people involved in the sports events. But it will still be better if the vaccine is created the soonest possible time for a sure safety and health of everyone in the game but delaying it until the vaccine is created it may only cause starvation to them, perhaps it will result of no food to be prepared on the table.

I am sure the world can afford to wait for that vaccine. The world making a recovery from the polutions that is already happen from a long time ago.

I think option B will be the way for the sports event to resume in this middle of the pandemic, and yes, it might be no audience as you said so that people can watch the even from their home. But the promoter needs to give protection to all people in those events so they can resume the event without afraid of the virus.

The vaccine itself still tested on some samples, but we don't know how long the vaccine can be given to people who get infected.

We should wait until this pandemic virus has gone before we go for the sports betting because if we are going to go on that even even though the pandemic virus is still existing,
No, you can bet if the competition starts again in the next few weeks and everyone does not need to wait until this pandemic disappears.

The sports betting can take place buy make sure that there would be no audience on the place and there would be an online streaming so the gambling can still bet even though they are home.
They should mind the health and the danger of having an audience in the event.
No audience is an attempt made to minimize the spread of the virus. They can watch it with family at home or anywhere and gamblers can bet through online sites.

Although we know that there will be different perceptions about the decision to continue the competition, but I dont think and might also disagree if the sporting event has to wait for the vaccine to start again. The decision to restart the competition I think has been preceded by a variety of considerations both for players, staff, club management as well as for the sports fans themselves. So I dont think that this business has to wait for vaccines. If the competition starts, then our awareness of ourselves must be increased to stay safe.

See what a thing.

The virus mutates and there is already research that the virus in the States and the virus in Europe are completely different viruses.

Many famous athletes are already starting to give up competition if they are forced to make a vaccine.

Therefore, I think we all need to wait and take precautions.

It might take some time before vaccine might ba made, and I believe sport events can't wait that long or they will have to make adjustments for them to resume. It is either they will proceed with an event with only participants and staff on the venue and they will only be available for viewing via telecast or with limited viewers.
For limited viewers then most probably it would really be that some sort of vip's on which tickets would really be expensive. This is possible but it would really need take a lot of measures
before they can step in into the venue.Im not really that agree into this idea but in concern that if this pandemic will still continue for months or even years then its just really right that
they resume up fights or games because this industry would really be good as dead if it will further be postponed or stopped. It do need revenue not only benefiting the organization or players
but also it is important when it comes to taxation or into the economic side of things.

Please enlighten me. An effective vaccine against COVID 19 is at least 12 to 18 months away. So is the OP suggesting to cancel whatever sports events that are scheduled for this year and the next year? We need to accept the reality. COVD 19 will be here for at least a few more years. What we need to do is to manage our own daily routine accordingly. Staying at home for the next 18 months may not be practical for most of us.

Also, the medicine to cure the infected individuals is still on trial, so it is really not smart to hold the sports event in the next coming months. If possible, wait for the health authorities to at least identify the effective set of medicines that can cure the mild-severe infected patients.
And if the cure is found or the vaccine will be discovered, do you think they will be able to reproduce it right away?
No, therefore the sports organizers or promoters can't wait until the vaccine is created for them to resume, they will have to or their business will die.

What I was trying to say here, is at least wait for the health authorities to pinpoint the effective medicines that can cure those infected ones, because I understand waiting for the vaccine will really take time. I understand that sports events should push thru as soon as they have clearance from the government but they should know the possible repercussions and they should be at least ready for it. We may be talking years of waiting for the vaccine to be released and available for public use so that's really not a solution to push thru sports events. Extreme precautions and identified effective medicine maybe our weapon to fight this battle for the next coming months.

I do not think that it is possible to discover and test the vaccine for covid-19 will be so soon. If we look at any epidemics in the past, we will see that it took many years to find a vaccine for any epidemic, you know that many vaccines for epidemic virus have not been discovered yet. So instead of waiting for the vaccine, we should start sports event according to some rules. we can start sports event with a limited number of spectators and limited staff and must follow general rules such as using sanitizer, not shaking hands, maintaining physical distance etc.
I don't know how others will accept it. This is my personal opinion.
