I tried to run separate instances of oclvanitygen inside 4 screens in console.
It's weird, first card was hashing at 21-23Mkey/s while the other three at 11-13Mkeys/s each.
When I run single instance I have combined computing power of ~51Mkeys/s. With 4 seperate instances when adding the values it is ~54-62Mkeys/s.
The load was ~90% on each card so better than with one oclvanitygen instance but still not ideal.

Anyone has been using this on multi gpu machine? Is that normal? Why I can't have stable 99% load on every card ?

Edit: I check load % with aticonfig Overdrive if that matters.

1)
Code:
# dpkg -s libssl-dev | grep Version
Version: 1.0.1e-2+deb7u14

2)
My GPUs are not the newest ones, I have 4x MSI Twinfrozr 7950.
I'll try to find a patch. Thanks.

For me I have a Nvidia 9500 Gt (2.5G) its so slow for this tool , I run it sometime 20 minutes for a 3 key pattern and
the speed is 216 key/s . Is my graphic card the only slow here ? or 216 is good ?
thats a ancient card. be happy that it even works!

Is there a way check balance of vanity addresses automated?
You'll have to be more specific in what you're trying to achieve.  'vanity' addresses are just like regular addresses.

Hi,
I have a question to oclvanitygen users.
I successfully compiled the software under Debian linux. I have old mining rig with 4 GPU.
Everything seems to work but the load of the cards is quite low: 70-90% and not stable.  Nothing that I'm used to when I recall old mining times with stable 99% load in cgminer.
How to increase the load to 99% ? It lowers performance a lot with ~80%.

Second question. I'm unsure how to read the results.
vanitygen provides simple and clear output:

Example:
Code:
./vanitygen 1tst
Difficulty: 4553521
Pattern: 1tst
Address: 1tstajg1J32HDSVnFDpCoQ8rTCxmNRYvy
Privkey: 5KUruEhXzvmmCJuKhEUtzadNe51DgQzHuGA7EFeBM5mcwRDR2C1

oclvanitygen provides something different.

Example:
Code:
./oclvanitygen -D 0:0 -D 0:1 -D 0:2 -D 0:3 1tst
Difficulty: 4553521
Match idx: 0
CPU hash: a159f76402d9bab648b806082fbc347818825e98
GPU hash: 09cfb112e8f825a6a2ea5b6f83b96e33ac70c459
Found delta: 5955016 Start delta: 1

How to convert it to normal BTC address and private key?

I also noticed when I turn on single GPU workload rises to 97-98%.
1) are you using libssl 1+?
2) newer gpus have a problem that results in incorrect hashes (the message you get from oclvanitygen). search this thread for a post of nasty with a patch for it.

thanks this is really nifty for business names - to put a name to an addy
Just keep in mind that you should never use that as anything more than exactly what it is, a vanity.  Say you generated a bunch of vanity addresses '1Actua1', and advertised that as trusted addresses for customers - then I could easily generate my own '1Actua1' addresses and try to con your customers into sending funds to me.

I prefer Zakir over Muhammed when mentioning me!
i did all the commands there, im not sure which sentence of all the 200 lines that gaves me back, its the correct that says how much cpu my mother can see. (i send you a pm)

as far as i can see, my pc only detects one vga

env LD_LIBRARY_PATH=./sdklib ./oclvanitygen -D 1 -i 1Nasty
Difficulty: 15956296
Invalid device specifier '1'
Could not open device '1', ignoring
Available OpenCL platforms:
0: [Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.] AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing
0: [Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.] Tahiti
  1: [AuthenticAMD] AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 270 Processor

the -D 0:0 it works. but the others dont... :/

i installed a program called lshw-gtk  that shows all the hardware in the pc, and i can only see 1 vga i think.

first, nothing to do with "VGA".
second, use the appropriate option! its -D not -d.
example:
Code:
./oclvanitygen -D 0:0 -D 0:1 -D 0:2 -D 0:3 -D 0:4 -D 0:5 -D 0:6 -D 0:7
next time check the --help Wink

Was somebody able to find a fix for the error that many users encounter on a mac with oclvanitygen?

Code:
Compiling kernel, can take minutes...vg_ocl_context_callback error: [CL_DEVICE_NOT_AVAILABLE] : OpenCL Error : Error: Build Program driver returned (517)
vg_ocl_context_callback error: OpenCL Warning : clBuildProgram failed: could not build program for 0x1021b00 (ATI Radeon HD 5750) (err:-2)
vg_ocl_context_callback error: [CL_BUILD_ERROR] : OpenCL Build Error : Compiler build log:
Error returned by cvms_element_build_from_source

failure.
clBuildProgram: CL_BUILD_PROGRAM_FAILURE
Build log:
Error returned by cvms_element_build_from_source

I looked and looked but all I could find were other people with the same error but no solution to it.
I tried varying the grid size, playing with the d/D options, rebuilding, Wyseninja's via homebrew...

I only get 700 Kkeys/s with oclvanitygen using just the CPUs (I'm on an Imac), which I don't want to run because of potential heat issues.

Can somebody please help? Thanks!!

@Loco : You tried looking the link which I posted a few posts above. Check whether every GPU is found. Smiley
