Look out for the people who arent willing to do escrow. Their will be guys coming on here promising you any gift card but you first must send them money. First sign is low posting number. There is a lot of signs showing someone may be a scam.

When you make transaction on someone whom you don't know and you will do it for the first time, it is advisable to use wallet that can tract your transaction well and if possible use wallet that requires KYC so you can tell that this person with this account scams you so other people will also know!

Using an escrow is a must in any deal you make in the forum, I know that this adds costs and time delays but it is worth it especially if we are talking about a significant amount of money, however I will recommend that you never buy gift cards from people, most of the time they are committing some kind of fraud and you do not want the police knocking at your door just because you wanted to get a cheap gift card.

Yeah thanks for reminded us.. and it's not only that, now scammers more increasingly a various forms of its deception. Anyhow internet is the one of the scam's media that's really suitable for a scammers.. and of course scams forms in cyberspace, it's harder to read or researched than scam in the real world. Sometimes someone who doesn't intend to scam, but we consider it a scam and vice versa. Well in essence we've to be a more smarter person.
Unfortunately this is the reality of this space, you cannot ever let your guard down, there are people trying to scam you and there are others sending phishing links and if you click on them you risk losing money as well, this is why sometimes people in the forum may seem to be paranoid about stuff but the truth is they are only trying to protect themselves and others of being scammed.

Thats why cryptocurrencies have so bad reputation. You can count on scam on every step of the way.

There won't be mass adoption until this problem get fixed so every illiterate person can use it without fear.
That is probably never going to happen, there are also many scams in fiat but the difference is chargebacks are possible, something that will never be possible with bitcoin so we will have to change the culture and instill a culture of using an escrow in every single trade no matter how big or small the amount of the transaction but most people never take additional precautions until they suffer a bad experience with bitcoin.
It is very important to know the ICOs in which we are going to invest. The project should be authentic and reliable. Market cap should be good and should be listed in exchange. These are some facts that every investor should know about it. There are thousands of coins in the market but all are not authentic and there are many scams which should be avoided.

Wish I knew that before getting scammer $7 for $10 agc!  Cry
Take that as a very cheap lesson even if for you 7 dollars is a meaningful amount of money you should consider yourself to be lucky there have been people that lost hundreds of bitcoin to scammers that are now worth a fortune, so remember to always use an escrow for any deal, there are some escrows that charge you money but there are others willing to do it for free, just look that the escrow has a good reputation or you could lose your money to them as well.

There are many scams out there and when the scammers wanted more than just scam for a few dollars, they would create an ICO. I do participate in some bounties and then after a while, the team would be inactive and leaving the investors and the bounty hunters in vain. There are times when the ICO is not scam but they do not pay the bounty participants which is quite unfair that's why we should have a consensus that tokens should be escrowed.

Never do any transactions to any unknown users just like a basic rule especially newbie accounts except if that user is trusted and just made a new account for business purposes. Not all newbies are scammer sometimes they're owned by bounty/signature campaign manager.
You're right not all newbies are scammer maybe few of them are owned by bounty campaign manager. Or maybe in order to avoid these things you should stick to your trusted campaign manager. In my case I only participate to campaign that were managed by my trusted campaign manager and it is all worth because I can assure that his campaign was not scam.
choosing a trusted manager is the main benchmark before deciding to participate in it. it's true not all beginners are scammers because there are some big projects that create new accounts to run its campaign program that can be done by itself, but on the other hand he must have escrow so that campaigns can be trusted by everyone
The campaign should be done from a successful ICO project and professional management team, you certainly know that if the ICO project fails, the bounty project you join will have no results. Take a good look at the ICO project before deciding to join and try to get the job done well to get the reward.

The last thing I will allow to happen to me this time is being scammed. No way am I letting such a thing happen, not after I faced it as a beginner, this time around I’ve become more smart and more careful. I was scammed $115 back then as a newbie, and the mistake was from me cause I was completely careless then as I was about selling my Bitcoin and sold it to a random person I met online.

Scams are just in the corner and what's alarming is that they're almost everywhere and hard for us to determine them as they do scamming in professional way. I think one of the best solution to stop these scammers is when government regulate cryptos and every ico must be registered in secc before it can start its crowdfunding program.

Cryptocurrency depend on internet and this is the worst thing for bitcoin investors. When there is internet, there would be scammers and hackers around. Safety is very difficult but we should do our best to avoid such scams. Always use reliable exchange for your transaction and try to use your local exchanger which is in your reach, so that you can claim your lost transactions.

You should watch for it before investing because scamming and frauds happen because of our over confidence and trusting yourself too much without having any good ideas about market happenings, because people with negative thoughts are here to take advantage of it, they will just come, show you green garden to hook you up and to get your trust and after that taking your money they will get disappear, so beware of such scammers don’t trust everyone.

Never ever ever let your guard down - even those people that befriend you through the crypto space - there are people out there that are masters of the long con - they will make it look as though it is all legitimate but then one day will just disappear along with your hard earned money.

Ultimately everyone in the world will try to rip you off if they could - a negative way to look at it I know but it is the truth. So always always be on the look out for scams. Sometimes though people just can't be bothered developing anymore and do a runner that way too. It is hard to predict.

it's where fraud is everywhere, if you do not want to get rid of my suggestion is always doing transactions with users you know. and always stick with a trusted campaign. If you do this, I do not think you will be deceived.

You must be very careful. Once, out of my purse, scammers stole all the Crypto currency. Now I'm using the maximum security I know. You must be careful!
