The biggest advantage that it has the simplest way to create your own token. I have heard about the partnership with burger king.. is it already finished? What is the result of it or it was aimed for promotional purposes?

As a long time supporter of Waves I honestly think they should be on that position, but volume never goes down, they seem to be one of the stable coin in the market and will continue to be a top contender, I know that team is working behind the scene for the next major update.

I don't think so. Waves Platform AG is Swiss, has offices in locations around the World, including Holland, UK, USA and Moscow.

Most of the 'heavy lifting' core development is done by the SCALA devs in Moscow - probably the best untapped location for bringing on programming talent in crypto.

Maybe, the perceived distance from places like Silicon Valley(US) and Silicon Roundabout(UK), as well as the, until fairly recently, lack of connections to Social Media hypsters made Waves a sleeping giant - but, believe me, It will wake!
