Is it the new official Waves thread? I'm asking because there has been none since the first one was locked time ago. I am a Waves hodler, so I am particularly interested in this.

Nah... I'm sure it's not.
Nevertheless, I will leave here my brief opinion about the project. Cheesy I think this coin is undervalued. This is working product with good functionality and ongoing development. Look attentively! May be now is a good time to buy because the price is really low.

I've been a Waves Hodler for a while now. I'm looking forward to Smart contracts and Atomic swaps this year. I do hope the marketing increases when these project milestones happen.

I wasn't aware they planned on atomic swaps launching this year. Do you know if anyone else has already successfully implemented them?

Good day for the crypto world today, bitcoin -4% still number 1.
Excellent day for Waves : rank #45.

The more they deliver, the more Waves sink. Laughable.

Many expected project goes hockey stick only with rumors that they are working on a hot topic
When Waves says they will deliver smart contract (a hot topic for sure but ......well only on testnet !!!!) then price goes south.

My conclusion : no one expect nothing from waves except some fanatics.
This is my only explanantion : Waves actually makes no sense.

Crypto, like wine, gets better with time. Tongue Have some patience, the market is only just starting to live up a bit. Once this falls into place with all the upcoming Waves releases, there will be no stopping it. It will gain a lot more exposure too then, which only can mean positive things for the longer term outlook.

When will Smart contracts feature will be fully implemented.

Will we see it in 2018 or 2019? Patiently waiting for it.

Smart Accounts(non-turing) roadmap:

TestNet in April 2018!  Shocked this month
MainNet in July

(non-turing) Smart Accounts are already able to use 90% of all the features Cool

best wishes!
The first iteration of Waves' Smart Contracts will be a non-Turing complete implementation that will make advanced business logic available but without the vulnerabilities of fully Turing complete contracts. It will be focused on account controls, making Waves more secure, powerful and flexible.

So, this is what you will be possible to carry out with Waves’ smart accounts: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@wavesplatform/waves-smart-accounts-and-smart-assets

"Compared to Ethereum, which people mainly use for Initial Coin Offerings because of its ability to create tokens, Waves is significantly more simple, efficient and cost-effective  for essentially the same service": http://bitcoinist.com/surf-smart-contracts-waves-blockchain/ waves can be third generation of the blockchain after bitcoin and ethereum and it is good for long term investment in waves platform.

To be honest, waves smart contracts are shitty, no one is investing on Waves ico's because the contract is  very poor, you need a very good developer and it can cost you more than dozens of thousands of dollars for a single contract.

Please, stop that FUD. If you have something to say please do provide evidence. And as already mentioned no SC yet, but it's just a matter of days until SC is released on testnet (according to latest roadmap)
I agree, should the people gives more information/data about their claim of something, it will gives valid data and it will helps every one else, today waves is good progress on developing of waves platform, they are building waves platform to be used for smart contract and problem solving of smart contract on ethereum (scaling problem and security problem).
That's stupid to say that, as it will be all the other way, first purpose of waves was always to be simple and  intuitive for everyone and for now they have made a good job that way and it will be the same for futur release of smart-contract.
I don't care about the people who said bad about the waves platform the final result we choose waves or not depends on the investors of waves coin and in my personal portofolio investment in digital coins, waves has been included to mine because we have knew the developer of team waves has made good updating of waves platform to be sucessfull in the future.

ONe Social Network.
Masspayment is the right implementation when you can send so many transactions per second. Now I think that with upcoming smart contracts this function can be automatic

There are some ponits that make Waves Platdorm different from other projects:
  • not agressive marketing with the comfortable pace of development;

this difference ruins such a wonderful project. The problem is not that people don't know about Waves, the problem is that they know about Waves, but what is not true and actively share their knowledge

Greetings!

Waves one of the first altcoins ever I ever bought and hold. But it never really satisfied me. Marketing is unheard, speculations are 0, development is at turtle speed. Their only plus is safety. Sad to say but I m losing patience boys..

There are some ponits that make Waves Platdorm different from other projects:
  • not agressive marketing with the comfortable pace of development;
  • WAVES shows the smooth growth on the market and may serve as solid base for projects from real sector;
  • Waves Platform do really care about the quality of the products it offers rather than quantity.
More pluses can be found on further acquaintance with the Platform. Stay tuned.

Hello Mr. Waves.support.
Can someone from the support record a detailed video: How to install and configur the full node? That would be very useful.
Thank you!

All sorts of information concerning running a node can be found on our Discord channel #fullnode - https://discord.gg/cnFmDyA

Does Waves have any patents filed for its platform? It seems like they have some pretty valuable IP, it would be a shame to see it ripped off.

That is why all attraction of the Waves Platform lies in decentralization.

Does anyone know of any way I could earn Waves tokens without buying them?

You can earn WAVES on leasing or even run your own node. Here are some helpful links on your topic:

Many people are very negative about the Waves project, for one simple reason, the Waves project has a very bad reputation, because on their platform today there are a lot of projects that are scam, it's very sad to say.

I don't see why this should reflect negatively on Waves. Does everyone else think Ethereum is bad because a lot of erc-20 tokens are scams? I know I don't see it that way.

You can't regulate everything and censor people to make sure they're only doing what you approve of. They aren't so obvious anyway, plenty of projects everyone assumed were scams turned out to be legitimate. What does Eth do about this potential PR issue? Just ignore it?

That's kind of the reason people are moving toward decentralized platforms.

People are going to use powerful tools for tools for evil, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't have powerful tools at all.

That's a good point. I haven't really thought of it like that, but I agree.
