Waves have not have any impact on ethereum platform. On the contrary, ethereum hold more than 90% of smart contract based project in Cryptocurrency! Waves is also capable of smart contract deployment yet, few people are using waves platform!
I know, Waves has a pretty good potential in developing technology and its price, but as long as ethereum is still able to master the market, I think Wave cannot replace ethereum. Because ethereum is very trusted because the technology is reliable. The platform continues to be built on various ICOs, even more broadly the ICO uses the ETH platform.
For some reason, everyone writes about replacing ETH, which will not happen. Each of the new projects can take its niche, snatch some market share, but do not replace ETH. ETH is already a classic, several ICO was conducted on several platforms, for example on NEO or Waves. But this is a plus for ETH, from the ETH no one will refuse.
In my opinion waves is potential but it cannot beat ethereum. ETH is more popular than waves I and it is use widely in crypto market. Smart contract is one of ethereum advantage than other altcoins. Still I will choose both but in case only one I would choose ethereum over waves.
I don't agree but it is also truth Waves has great potential and is very stable and big project with its own platform.
Of course it will survive, since it is the second crypto with the highest market capitalization in the world and 90% of the altcoins are based or emerge from ERC20. 
In my opinion, Ethereal is currently being discussed a lot in terms of cryptocureencies because the handling of these coin problems is good and the possibility of a better price could be in the coming year ethereal may be the first coin

My opinion each and every platform have specific differentiation.
Ethereum is not bad but everyone is going with Ethereum according to there business needs, but still few other platforms are also good.
I can't see any threat to the existence of ethereum by waves. Both will continue to be relevant in the cryptocurrency world
With me, Ethereum is going mainstream and exploring international markets to be used for various purposes beyond exchanges. While Waves is also good but it is based on very limited area of expertise and can not see that level's appreciation because of its nature and business plan. Good luck!
It's hard to predict for this, but I don't think so, ethereum is still the best altcoint among other altcoints, and I think ethereum is better than "wave" until now.

You're correct on exchange not being controlled. But on the other hand, the rates in DEX are heavily controlled by whale due to very low volumes. Maybe in the future with Waves upgrades and new UI etc there will be more volume. At the moment I cannot see benefits in DEX for a trader.

I think waves are too low to be the next ethereum, there are still many altcoins that are better than waves to become the next ethereum. and currently it is not yet clear that it can replace ethereum.
Waves and Ethereum currently is good platform. But I think Ethereum is better. Eth is always the best when compared to any altcoin except BTC.
well, if we take into account that the ether is also the idea of a Russian guy, but as we see the project has gone very far and I'm sure we will be surprised many times about the waves, I have not heard the news of late. may in a few years, the waves themselves will show, but while the air is in the first place among smart contracts.
I think that in the near future WAVES will show better growth dynamics than Efir, in view of the planned changes in the Ether Network. But in the long term, Ether has a stronger potential.
if I think personally, maybe someday waves will exceed ethereum. we see the example of ethereum which used to be nothing but now equivalent to bitcoin. maybe the same thing will happen to the waves
Yes I believe in the capacity of the ethereum to rise up even with the recent rise in price of wave I don't believe it can take over ethereum in market capitalization.

Many altcoins declared that they can match up with ethereum but until now we can't see a rising coins which could surpass ethereum capability as the number 1 lobbyist.
waves for me are not profitable because of some of the constraints attached to it, the very difficult experience for the transaction. however it remains the best choice of ethereum as well as convenience and is widely used by new altcoin
