I somewhat agree here. But games have been around for centuries. Before smartphones, people were also playing games all day or lazing around. Or even gambling all their lives away, drinking/smoking non stop. I would even say playing games all day is less harmful than those things. I do think kids especially waste too much time online, draining resources and not contributing back at all. But if you think about it, would you rather they take drugs?

So you would let them play all day out without doing anything? You would be saying that it is better for them to play rather than to be productive and help his family or his country? It is true that it is better for them to play than to gamble but if they continue, they won't be knowing the hardship of having a job and that might turn them into drug or alcohol addicts.

Television and the Internet have a strong impact on people; they simply impose their point of view on us. For example, we are told that the politician is good and the other is bad. If we are told about a healthy lifestyle, then they start to frighten that many athletes died very early, they took forbidden priparaty. But then the question arises, and cigarettes and alcohol do not kill our body. To argue on this topic can be a long time. Previously, people talked more and built their relationships in the real world, rather than in the virtual.

I think as a while it is the mentality of the government towards their citizens at the same time what and how they treat them.

If they have a healthy relationship then for sure there is always a positive growth but to be honest in places which is plauged by discrimination at the same time war and things , people are not mentally healthy to be productive.

Economy is nothing but what each and every individual of a country achieving is summed up altogether.

Global warming will bring new challenges to human beings, and I think that issues related to migration will be the largest driver of economic change. There will be a new economic sector built around the issues of migration, including managing migration, transportation, construction, and so on. Many of these things will be no different from the way they are now. Global warming will just change the geographic location of the need for goods and services.

Policies and implementation of those policies can have greater effect on the economy of any country that is why when people are electing people or leaders who lack the vision for the long-term and are only thinking of their own political survival the country can experience more imbalance and problems instead of gaining more solutions for the problems at hand and preventing them from occurring into the future. Many voters are more prone to elect popular candidates and listen to easy-to-say political rhetoric that can satisfy their own needs...but when leaders do lack the political will to do the right things to do then we will have big problems.

Right now, there is a big trend of other cultures getting into other countries and changing its basic structure. This is not good as many countries can slowly lose their own identities and will not anymore value what they got based on their own history and traditions. Western influence are creeping in as brought by the very influential entertainment media relaxing the norms all placed by centuries. And then we assumed that Western values are advanced and better...when in fact they are not but corrupt and can lead to moral decay.

behind fast food, many employees work in the industry. will disrupt the economy if it closes simultaneously. I think good things must start from the personal self for a healthy lifestyle. I think traditional food must also be consumed, besides fast food. just how do we manage it
Because of labor and employment, making the country's education to have the ratio of 9:1 where 9 are educated and 1 are not, teaching people how to have discipline and great leadership that the people will follow as their example for the success. Also, offering alternative jobs for the undergraduates or out of school people would affect the economy better. Just give them proper personality development and emotional intelligence training and they will be ready to contribute to our economics.

I have been a big support of farming for years even when I was a small kid and I would like to emphasize that I have never been a farmer or know any farmer in real life at all.

I only think farming is very important because that is the biggest resource a nation always buys, from seeds to all the way to food right away, consider how much money we all spend on food as a whole nation and you would understand why crops and farming is very important, if you can do it yourself as a nation and don't buy from others then that is great, if you can actually do it for cheap that is even better, that was one of the best things China did for example, they managed to farm and build amazing crops and even as a whole a billion people nation they managed to make it cheap for their own country and even sell some to other countries and even giveaway some for free to countries they wanted to ally with.

Social media and other addictive Internet sites - people are constantly glued to them, even on their work, which decreases their productivity. Social media also cause depression in many people, because they not only procrastinate, but also constantly compare their life to others, which leads to dissatisfaction. Also social media are good at spreading lies and fakes, which can have negative effects on the economy - anti-vax panic, anti-GMO, political manipulation and so on.

Sure enough, social media is able to change one's perspective only from a writing. There are so many countries in my news that hoaxes are scattered and this has an impact on all fields not only in the economy and severely able to trigger propaganda.

But not everything from social media can aggravate the economy, social media also has a positive side. As is now everywhere ubiquitous in technology, so the development of ecomerce is increasing and the number of online transactions also increases. Many mid-level businesses rely on social media as a medium for their sales or promotions.

Things that damage the economy indirectly.

For example I feel that fast food and an unhealthy lifestyle leads chronic health problems that probably affects the economy not just monetarily.

Of course we can't just deny these people care, just promote a healthier lifestyle.

What are other things that we can change that will affect the economy in a positive way?
For me probably the one thing that is leading to unhealthy lifestyle is the excessive use of internet, i am not talking about spending hours and hours in front of our screens wasting time, no i am talking about the the way we have became dependent on it, we no longer have to go to the shop and look for our things to buy in the store we just order them with a click of a button, we no longer have to go to the restaurant and wait for our food and wait in line we just order it and it comes to us, all of these changes may have improved and made our lives easier but it also promotes a lazy lifestyle which can reflect on other sides of our lives and on our economy.

I think some of the people who are playing games. In our country, there are a lot of people that have their own android phones and just play online games all day out. That affects the economy since the unemployed is increasing. If we can tell this people to start finding a job, maybe a simple job for starters, I guess that would be a great help.

I somewhat agree here. But games have been around for centuries. Before smartphones, people were also playing games all day or lazing around. I'm telling you actually even crypto is a dangerous addiction and worse it makes you lose money if you gamble and trade like so many people do.

Its true that games had been played centuries but not as fatal as this era, you can see the restaurant, street or anywhere people are addicted to phone, most of them are playing games and some spend a lot of money for the game, when people addicted to game, it destroy their life and they become anti social, that lead to lack of communication and mentally destroy them, I think smartphone is slowly changing people to anti social and at some point it could bring damage to new generation

People is behind the country's economy. Mindset is an important factor for the progress. If only people has a solution for this question "Why should anyone really care about contributing? What’s in it for me?" But of course we have a different philosophy in life. We cannot encourage all to have the same mindset. Maybe we have a different ways on how to contribute in our economy, we just have the same goal to improve once life. It does matter.

It's the reality these days that people are attached to social media and internet. I just can't attain to see those posts that are looking for social attention and asks their worth.

Social media if not used properly, it can cause a lot of negative impact but despite of that if being used properly it can lead the economy to have a better status. Like today, most of the world's transaction happens on the web including social medias and there are too many jobs and businesses created through it.

Other than above posts said poor management from government can lead to huge fall of their economy in long run and we can see the proof from some countries like Somalia,Nigeria and many other African nations.

I agree, young adults now are very addicted to social media that they don't care so much about study but they wanted to have their profile to have a lot of subscribers. Indeed social media can make a person to be unproductive in the sense that because of Facebook for example they will not do their work with quality. Also not all in social media can be trusted some new can be fake which can manipulate or stress people.

The nation needs to be corruption free. Politicians if found corrupt need to be taken off.
People need to be prevented from drug addiction. Governments need to take initiative.
Food and shelter need to be provided categorizing the people in need.
Providing free education to all its citizens without any partiality.

When the very first point of corruption is eradicated automatically the country will progress
in all forms of development. Also every citizen will find a good path to move their life.

Social media and other addictive Internet sites
Good answer! I also despise social media like Instagram that encourage bragging about social status, e.g., photos of food at restaurants, luxury cars, vacations, etc. It severely affects inexperienced people, who think that it is the truth (and that's how we should live our life). What most people don't understand is that the "true" rich people seldom brag about their wealth in social media.

Social media waste our time and encourage unnecessary consumption.

Disengagement of the youth from education and other meaningful activities that could soon be detrimental to the development of the country. This is not something that happens overnight but I know for a fact that this could lead to a country's damaged economy and stability if left unchecked as the youth will be the next ones carrying the torch for the future generations to come. Time is not maximized and use efficiently, no new skills are learned and overall no experienced is gained by these young ones therefore further disengaging them from the happenings in the society.
