Things that damage the economy indirectly.

For example I feel that fast food and an unhealthy lifestyle leads chronic health problems that probably affects the economy not just monetarily.

Of course we can't just deny these people care, just promote a healthier lifestyle.

What are other things that we can change that will affect the economy in a positive way?
if the country economy not maintained by the government then it will definitely use effect for the people in the country lies day also because everything is all about the economy only so that we need to keep it up with the development only

The quality of education that kids recently is getting worst than I had imagined. You know when it was way back 1980's and beyond that point. Grade 5 children know already how to speak English, but now I bet some college students couldn't even make a correct sentence or paragraph right. I was thinking why was this happening in our country and dig a little further. Some of the answers surprised me and thought that education of the past and their society that surrounds them are way better than today. This could affect the countries growth, with that kind level of knowledge and intellect who knows they could be a leader via dynastic schemes of their parents or something else, what could be the future of a country whose ruler is an average thinking person.
This is a huge problem that I have been tracking for some time, governments are failing at educating kids and since they do not want to admit their mistakes they are lowering the bar and reducing the complexity of the subjects so kids do not show their deficiencies, just to give you an example when I was in school and I was given a test there were no multiple choices I could pick or any way I could get a hint of the answer, all of the questions were open-ended and you needed to actually knew the subject if you wanted to get a good grade, but now all the tests done at schools are multiple choice since they are easier for the student to pass.

What we can change? As you stated, one reason is fast food, can you ban it? I doubt anyone is willing to do that. We are full of bad habits they may affect our life. Our country's economy is damaged when country don't have good doctors and you have to go in different country to cure disease, that's a huge cost and imagine on a lot of people, that affects economy seriously. Also the fact that we humans can't stand without war, damages economy too and in this proposal I mean that every country spends huge amount of money on military services. Why is that money spent? For what? We can live in piece and never own military which would save a lot of money but no, we can't.

I don't believe in banning, but rather education. Education about the branch of consequences. From health problems that affect the quality of life of someone, and how the lost productivity, the care cost, how all that will affect the economy.

In order to change the economy better in the future, I think education needs to improve better in some Asian countries. In my country, we only study theory from grade 1 to grade 12 and really don't have any practice sessions. The lesson plan is very difficult and after graduation, we all forget it and 12 years of schooling are really wasteful.
Such teaching methods have killed many talents. it will be creative people and help the world economy to be better.
In the US, they have a great teaching program and so their country has more than 300 billionaires up to the present.

I think not having a true road map that would bring you out of an economical problem is the key reason many countries fail. They always change their plans and road maps and do something new when a long term deal doesn't work in the short term.

If you want to success you have to really have a plan for the next 20 years that all economists would agree would help you and then keep at it for long time, there is no cure to fix an economic trouble in one day and it will not help you right away but if you put your foot down and say this is the road you will take and not change it every 2 years then the country will eventually be stable and good, it may take some time and you may have painful times meanwhile but each passing year it will become better and better.

Ministers of economy specially likes to change what their previous ministers did to make their own path which ruins a whole 4-5 whatever year that person was ruling which makes things start back from zero.

I think unemployment is one of the main things that needs to be tackled by any government and Bitcoin can help with that, because Bitcoin is bringing cheap international payments and lots of innovation to the financial industry.

If governments can allow Bitcoin as a legal tender or currency in their country and allow small businesses to accept Bitcoin as a payment option, then it will go a long way towards helping small businesses to reduce their transaction fees

Micro transactions are more common in small businesses and countries with high unemployment need informal businesses to increase, to help people to start their own businesses.  Wink
For job creation, I don’t think Bitcoin or blockchain technology has any solution to this, the more we advance in technology, the more it causes loss of job for humans generally and not only in cryptocurrency. I read news recently where I saw that they have created a robot that will serve as maid in the house, it could cook, do house chores and clean the house generally, with this robot, as humans not already lost out in the nanny or maid job?

Look at the system of cryptocurrency, it eliminates third part involvement, do you know how many third party it has indirectly fired from job when it becomes adopted? I think the only people that crypto has really created job opportunities for are blockchain developers, so we just need to see crypto for its payment purpose and as digital asset, but not to think it could solve unemployment problem.
I am interested in reading your explanation. now the blockchain can provide jobs for unemployed people, but creates unemployment for established third parties to work. therefore there must be a policy from the government to regulate it so that both can work well

Some one just made a really good point here… although I don't know if that can really affect the countries economy, but someone mentioned social media. Social media is screwing a lot of people up and people are starting to compare themselves to others and as well a lot of them now live fake life on social media just to appear rich when viewed on these platforms. Funny a lot of people no longer wants to accept themselves for who they are.

As for what I believe can affect the economy of any country, I will say it's bad leadership. Any country that has bad leaders is doomed forever. Bad leaders are going to destroy the country and sink it to the bottomless pit. This is the kind of issue that needs to be tackled seriously.

As far as my country is concerned, engagement of youths in more productive work and quality education. A country with a high population in which the majority neither has a quality education or engage in productive work, is heading for economic meltdown.

Political turmoil will greatly influence the economy of a country. If the political turmoil in a country is not good, it will affect investors as well as the placement of shares, they will withdraw their interest because they are worried that there will be riots and impact on them.

Of course if we want changes to our economy it will start to ourselves like eat healthy, do good things, and so on..Everything will start to ourselves so everything will be alright like what we want..we can avoid negative to happen to our economy if will help each other we will have a great economy, stop being greedy and corrupt..

Self-discipline is always hard to achieve. But change always start on our own selves. Just continue working on it and before we know it, we are already on the right track. Being greedy is human nature but we should always remember that being humble in our life will give us more peace of mind. Less worries, more peace. Who would want to have a complicated life?

Social media and other addictive Internet sites - people are constantly glued to them, even on their work, which decreases their productivity. Social media also cause depression in many people, because they not only procrastinate, but also constantly compare their life to others, which leads to dissatisfaction. Also social media are good at spreading lies and fakes, which can have negative effects on the economy - anti-vax panic, anti-GMO, political manipulation and so on.
Unfortunately this is true. Some people nowadays cant live without an internet, checking and updating their social media accounts especially the youth. Bullying others became easy that led to depression or worst ending their life.

We used to this scenario everyday, the government should do something to prevent this kind of situation to happen. Internet is beneficial to us but it has also a negative effect. Old days is still better, kids are playing traditional games but now even toddlers has gadget already.

Technology is a boon or is a bane. It just depends to the perspectives of the people. It can be harm to the individual and may result to an economic defficiency but technology helps also the growth of economy. The only purpose of technology is to make our lives easier. However, all things are dangerous if we use it in a wrong way.

The people in that country will not support that economic situation only the country's economic development was affected otherwise we cannot say your country will be easily affected by the changes in the People's Lifestyle and most importantly if the country was reduced then there will be a future problems involved in it.

Smartphones win this hands down since they are a complete time sink, personal computers have helped business to become way more efficient, but smartphones are a  plague when it comes to productivity, while I have no data at least in my job I will speculate that about half of the time my coworkers are just staring at their smartphones and not working, it does not matter if they are just talking over the phone, interacting with people in social media or playing video games in my opinion they should not be paid for all of that wasted time.
It used to be very bad here with how people paid more attention to their smartphones than the work they were doing, but it has decreased to a level where it has become somewhat acceptable.

It's impossible to prevent people completely from browsing through their phones every now and then in a time where pretty much our entire life revolves around the internet.

At the end of the day it comes down to how the employer adapts to the change in how we communicate with each other. Firm rules on smartphone use is necessary, but not to the degree where people feel annoyed.

Whether you're spending too much time on your smartphone or not being able to focus on your job because you don't like the environment there, the outcome is the same, which is less productivity.

I think the factor that indirectly damage our country economy is the widespread use of social media and scarcity of jobs available. Due to popularity of social media people in our country are less productive and so distracted with the digital world, about the scarcity of job some people turning in doing bad things and get involved in different crimes.
