A great makret volume and the decentralisation level. I like Binance, and this is one of my favourite exchanges, but I do not like that they are partly centralised. Thats why I prefer to trade on IDEX or other decentralised exchanges.
Although there are obvious benefits to using certain crypto exchanges over others such as high liquidity and the ability to use your fiat currency (not so difficult for those USD holders), but what other factors attract you to a crypto exchange?
The first and main feature i consider before making use of an exchange is security. An exchange with huge volume, but with a porous security system, is of no good and is no exchange as far as i am concerned. Even if i make huge sale on such exchange, someone else can easily take over my asset.Then the next should be high liquidity. I like it when a coin has high volume, which would give good liquidity to the coin that is being traded.
Every other things such as time of transaction and so on can be easily dealt with.
Good crypto exchangers is very important for every coins that we need. Ofcourse to control the price and volume of it and bad exchanges cant predict any price and lot of them have no volume so the coin will affected for their price.
A decent selection of coins doesn't hurt.

The choice of trading exchange is determined by transaction fees, speed of response, clarity and ease of transaction, availability of the coin/token of interest, ease of withdrawal, reviews by previous users, performance history of the exchange, etc. These factors will enable you to make good choice of an exchange.
But the most imporant thing is the reliability and dependability, there's no point of having speedy customers service, low fees and many more meanwhile the service itself is hardly can be trusted. Sometimes, even if the exchanges taking quite high, but not as ridiculous, it's quite fine, moreover if they are government compliant.
Trust in the site, that's what increases its rating in my personal understanding.

I normally don't use just one exchange I use more than 2 centralised exchange and 2 decentralised exchange one of them eth based and one of them Neo based. So leave the decentralised exchange. When it's comes to centralised exchange I first check is there a mobile app or not. It's very useful for me cause most of the time I am outside my home. Secondly I check for how much coin they listed(good one). Cause there are many exchange who have many coins but most of them worthless. Third I check for volume if in that specific exchange everycoin have good volume that is easy to trade. I also check for the factors like security barrier or user interface. I think this factors change for every individual.

Of course , first a large selection of trading pairs, I think the most important thing to new ico projects can be seen on this exchange and of course a smaller percentage of the transaction

A good crypto-exchange should have three properties. 1. Security 2. Reliability 3. Speed of operation.
The most important thing is security, transaction volume and liquidity. And I can say now Binance is doing well this, they handle the deal very quickly and always make sure the volume is very large.
I do concern on the safety of funds, the quick response from support, low fees and high level of withdrawal, and should be a big volume exchange with large no of user , also have great project that are good to store for long term.

Fast deposit and withdrawal. Some big exchanges have huge problems with withdrawal, so you may lose a lot of possible (or even actual) income due to the technical issues.
For me, a good exchange must have good security features, it is important because of even the top exchange in crypto had victimized in a hacking incident. Low fees and fast transaction are relatively similar to others, so it's better to have a better security system to attract traders.
What is really attractive to a Crypto exchange is having thier KYC on their regulations to prevent from some people that want to scam some new users using some multiple accounts and I think it is the best rules that I want to have in a exchange. It's kinda cool even they want your personal information just to make sure your a trusted user of their exchange.
Personally I am so much attracted to crypto exchanges that has an easily navigable user interface, there some exchanges whose interface is complex to use thus making things difficult, more so a well secured exchange is also a choice for me so as to have a rest of mind.
