You might be mistakenly interchanging the words gambling and risk. In gambling you cannot really know or determine the actual outcome before the actual results really show. But in taking risk you can do some assessment first before you can do your final decision with it. All the examples you have given are not gambling as the risk can always be identified at some point, you can always do background checks on who you will marry, where you will study, and where you want to have a job before even into jumping a decision. In gambling you can't do background checks or assessments what you can do is to only rely on your luck.

But Wrong.You can't make regular money in gambling if you want to,only it will happen if you are lucky enough so who came to gamble for making money will get addicted and also lose their wealth too.
This is the problem that they want to make it a full time job sort and want to make money form it. This is where many end up losing huge money and making the owners more ruich and rich. If they win in gambling just consider it as a bonus and have a great life rather than the lure to make the fortune form this gambling.

For me the best way to prevent gambling addiction is abstinence. Not gamble at all.

If that is how people find their jobs, I can say that people are not ambitious and so lazy. It is the same in our country as a lot of people are quickly comfortable to jobs that don't have a good salary. I am not saying that people should be doing the same as we should not pass that opportunity but there are a lot of times that we should aim higher since we are humans, we can do almost anything as long as we put ourselves into it.
bad but you should only apply or spent a small portion for leisure times not on going all in. Addiction is one of the cause so avoiding it would start on trying to control to engage
your time on gambling.

If that is how people find their jobs, I can say that people are not ambitious and so lazy. It is the same in our country as a lot of people are quickly comfortable to jobs that don't have a good salary. I can't think of a more good reason that make a person to become heavily addicted other than greed. Greed is the main reason because greed eats your soul from inside, you don't think of nothing else except gambling and risks his life, friendship , job and family.
Once in this situation you should ask for professional help, or in extreme cases it can end with suicide.
Well, greed really is the main reason that makes many people become addicted to gambling, wealth and make a lot of money in a short time, an attractive gift and no one can refuse, all have led them to addiction to gambling. And another reason I think it also contributes greatly to creating a gambling addict, that is lazy because a person who is diligent and has a stable job, they can not have time for gambling while people are lazy, they have too much time and gambling is always a tool to make money and fill their time. What you are stating is different kind of gambling, that is gambling in life, gambling in every decision. If we're talking about the gambling in casino. The only reason is because of money. Gambling can turn your small money into big and could make you rich overnight but it's kinda hard. So they keep on trying and sometimes forgot those important things they should do.

One reason is curiosity. People become curious in gambling that they want to try it. They will not deposit some fiat or Bitcoin if its online. If they win on their first deposit, they will continue it. If they lose, they will do some revenge and try to get their money back. Whatever happen to those 2 situations will lead to gambling addiction.

It might be true that what people are choosing is their gamble with their lives, but I don't think that in that every turn, it is gambling most of them are inevitable to happen.
When you go to school, that is inevitable since it is a common activity as a child, you must go to school. Studying, planning your career and building your own future, that is inevitable since there will be a lot of things that will happen that will push yourself to do things that will be valuable to you in the future. You work hard, it is inevitable that something will happen either you will be promoted or you will be fired.

As others have already told, in gambling games like dice there is no evaluation time: the result is served as soon as the dice has been rolled (win or loss), many people are attracted to this feature that gambling naturally has (fast results)

Greediness is what causes the majority of the problem and exactly this behavior of humans this gambling sites and casinos understand and they play them. Well it is individual duty to assure what is right and wrong for them and take steps accordingly. But finally when money is involved humans tend to get the maximum of it.

A part of our brain secretes a hormone called dopamine (look it up, but it's basically a feel good hormone) whenever we do drugs, gamble, eat sweets, smoke cigarrettes or depending what gets you addicted to something.
And the bad news is, you need to do more and more of that thing you want to do to get the same dose of that 'high' you get. That's why gamblers go broke.

You laugh at people's answers but you didn't thoroughly describe the subject. Dopamine is only one of many factors that make a person addicted. If it was only one hormone things would be much easier, but it's not. Some people get addicted for psychological reasons, for instance seeking escape from reality and ways to get themselves busy. Victims of abuse, abandoned children, lonely people or those who lost their loved ones, going through a divorce and so on. They're not doing it to get pleasure out of gambling. They do it to forget about the pain. It's the same reason why people get addicted to watching TV or playing computer games.

Although all the above listed cases can be called gambling in a way, they are far from being gambling completely. I've never heard of someone being addicted to choosing a wife/husband or choosing a school or choosing a boss etc. In fact, if people were addicted to those things the way addicted gamblers are addicted to gambling, it could be a good thing. Spending more time and energy on making those choices can result in better outcome. It is not so with gambling, which is a game existing solely for your amusement, and giving a lot of importance to it can result in bad consequences rather than good ones.

I don't think that there is no particular cause on why people get immensely addicted to gambling, they all have their own reasons, and one of the many reasons out there is that they are trying to WIN and WIN BIG and WIN MONEY, get that profit that they are aiming for, and if they don't, they put in more money and lose and get addicted for until they realize that what they are doing is a waste of time, but not in all cases that this happen though, just a mere example on how someone can get addicted.
