The major factor is the amount of money a gambler chooses to start gambling with that creates the whole pain when a gambler loses. The better way to reduce risk and addict factor is to limit the amount you are going to start gambling with or the betting amount. One should not take much serious while losing games when it comes to gambling with high amount because the fault not to limit bets is yours.
It's not about the amount you are starting gambling with. To prevent chasing your losses, and consequently becoming addicted, one should set a limit to the amounts he/she can lose in a day, in a week and in a month.
Say, if one day you lost more than you can afford to lose in one day, it shouldn't be a problem for you. It just means that you shouldn't gamble a certain number of days, starting now. Thus, in most cases, you can end up losing in a week an amount that is within your limits. And in those rare cases when you lose really a lot in one day, it shouldn't be a problem either. It just means that you shouldn't gamble for a month, or even longer, until the amount you lost divided by the amount of days that you abstained will be equal to or less than the limit you set for losing in one day. Think of it as of some sort of an interesting challenge. Find strength inside of you to complete it, and you will never become intensely addicted acting this way.
