Research it takes a few days/weeks so if u're in this fase take your time.

2.Join the telegram group and try to interact with the members;
3.Try to make a post on the forum and also see the crowd sentiment;
4.See some data on coinmarketcap.com , : https://icodrops.com/ , https://icorating.com/
5.Watch this tool from investing.com - find here the explination: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.29503403
**LATER EDIT:
6. Team - research moust of the members on linkedin and google , also the backers or advisors.

Doing this can be of help to get a sense of a really good buy... at least this is what  I do.

What are your thoughts ? How do you do it??

Cheers!

It is a requirement, you have do your own search about the altcoin you want to buy.
Not doing a proper research may resulting only wasting your money after you bought the coin.
coinmarketcap is the best source to see the statistic of the coin if they already listed there.

I am studying cryptocurrency coins together with an experienced mentor who has a huge knowledge base and wallet, so it is better that you have a mentor.

at first gain more knowledge you can about crypto and the coins. Then you will able to track the nature of the coin you want to buy. It will help you choosing best coins to invest.

I do not strongly believe in all kinds of news and PR. I'm looking at real things. Dynamics of growth and development of a coin, I compare the prices. I look at the general picture of the rust and fall of other coins. And of course intuition.
The marketing of Bitcoin is not that known to regular media watchers or listeners. The price is not that high yet.

To me, before buying any Altcoin, I will refer to the interest from its community, the roadmap is on schedule, the support from the team when the user requests, and the daily volume

Yes, a full research about the coin is required if you want to buy that coin.
A new coin has a possibility that they are only a scam coin with fake team and company.
If you cannot do your own due diligence, you can be scammed by some coins or tokens.

thank you for the advice, only a clear analysis of the project and the coin can indicate whether this investment will be successful, there are many projects in which there are very doubtful ideas and teams, but there are also projects that attract, for example kamagames

Just a tip, don't rely/use on free ico rating platform, because there have been
reports that the ratings are being bought. This is really alarming specially to
some newbie investors.

for me it's better to follow the top coins and their news. but even good news on the bear market does not guarantee that the price will grow. in general, in terms of investing in long term, it is very necessary to check everything thoroughly.

You have narrated and splited it out well OP. I quite agreed and even learn more from your purportion my Guy. I found embracing Bitcoin members response on the particular coins very importantly too. But I feel there are some that had not been listed on CMC and yet have very promising good features having followed other research techniques analysed.

Before buying an altcoin, I read up the crypto news about it, then I go for its what the project is about, and then look up for its history, and reviews about it. If it is convincing enough for me, I spend more time studying its moves in the market, and then finally decide whether or not to invest in the altcoin. Technical analysis is key

You must seraching about altcoin first. You can search it in google, youtube or any social media. You can also ask with the pro that know altcoin
I think that even at the bitcointalk forum it is possible to get quite a lot of information regarding the entire crypto currency and the prospects of a single coin .

this is what I did before buying altcoin. At least the steps above, it will be very helpful to eliminate some projects, and narrow down the choices, because now there are too many startups that do ico at the same time. I always check the graph and see what happens with the coin. I check prices and orders to buy and sell, I look for support on each order and if I can find support.

Very good recommendations. The main thing is not to be lazy and try to fully explore the project. But unfortunately, our investments in the crypto market are not insured. Even if you exclude fraud, the developers sometime may tritely lack the strength to launch the project ...

analysis and research is a great thing to do when want to decide to enter in altcoin. many altcoins there is of course not all of them can provide good potential for investment. need to pay attention to a lot of factors that exist within the team include coins and many more thing to be able to conclude whether this is worth it for investment or not.

Most of the time you need to check the market value of the project, which is a very critical factor. If you think prices can go up even higher in the long run, then you can buy it now, and the price is still at the bottom.
