I agree since ETH is making some upgrade on their system then there is no doubt that the price will grow in the future but I would suggest to diversify the OP's investment to reduce the risk on a single coin and increases the chance of getting profits by holding different coins.

Investing all money in one coin is not an better idea. I recommend you to buy at least 1BTC and it will be a long term investment. Why?cause after certain time only BTC has the probability to give you a best profit. With the other $1300 you can buy ETH. This will be the perfect investment.
