You should use that money and buy some bitcoins, buy some ethereum too And some other altcoins which you have researched and believe will do good in the long run, just remember to not put all of that money into a single place and a single investment so you don't end up losing all of it
Good idea, it would be a good choice to invest 50 percent in bitcoin, 25 percent in ethereum and remaining on various coins like dash, ripple, iota,neo etc.,so that it allows you to get profit from various ways. Basically people tend to invest more on bitcoin but this strategy may workout.
I'm having a hard time finding info on ICX, WAN, FSN, etc for staking requirements. I probably don't have enough fiat for a masternode so in your opinion what quality project has a good staking option? If all else fails I'll just buy more NEO

It's up to you. I don't think that all cryptocurrencies are worth investing. I think you can invest in some cryptocurrencies that have rankings, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and EOS.

It's quite old question now, but I'm sure whatever investment you've made then will be in loss currently or on the positive side, you'll be at zero profit zero loss. But those who want to invest at current market, should go for buying platform and privacy related coins. My choice would be like this:
50% in Bitcoin
10% Bitcoin Cash
10% Etehreum
10% Cardano
Remaining 20% in various promising coins such as EOS and NEO.
You want to invest ethereum only? how about divide into 5 altcoin, ethereum is a potential altcoin, but it's good to divide your money so that one of them will be increase I suggest another the potential altcoin are NEO, ADA, and AION good to hold for long term to me.

Ethereum is a really good investment right now, it will surely come back in the near future, however, don't just go all in on ethereum, I would suggest you to diversify your portfolio and invest your 10000$ into different cryptos.
