There's no need holding it for a year or till the price hit $1000, at least untill eth rise again. Because selling it now, will only have caused a lot of loss. Or exchange it to become another coin that makes daily profit. I think it will good right now, since crypto is bad in market.

Playing games is certainly a bad idea to use 3ETH, i would rather invest in good and sound projects. since market is down, getting good projects tokens can mutiply these 3ETH in how many i m not sure but can generate good amount of money when ever there is a bull run.

I occasionally do gambling , you can always try poker its my favorite game. There are lots of gambling site which accept eth, you can also try blockchain lottery , you might be lucky and bag the jackpot. Though, its really risky but profit is big if you win.

Yes, best is to make an investment portfolio but this is not the right time to make an investment because the crypto currency market will still experience much dump in price and the things the OP should do now is swap the 3ETH for USDT or DAI but I prefer DAI.
