Get up to date on marketing practices, you've probably read a dozen game adds in this thread alone and didn't even notice. Game makers where one of the first to use social networks for marketing and not just for promotion, you know all those putdown posts you've read about games you know are ok? Marketing.

I still don't think that are game developers, those who make their main profit from their games on this forum.
Mosts posts here are by childs, see all those League of Legends and Minecraft likes short-answers.

There's an awful lot of games threads atm and there's a fair history of threads created for press and market research on this forum, could some game developer be testing the waters?

Are you being silly? It's simply about adding post count.

I would to see serious discussions about stuff other than money or governments on this forum but no,not happening anytime soon. Simply newbs raking their post count. Short-ass answers in every off-topic thread.

Planet Side 2, but quitting soon...

MMORPG and other MMO games are usually bad for you. Some faster competition games are fine, if you consider them as a sports activity of sorts. But games where you are expected to grind grind grind, ugh! Nothing they can offer can compensate for amounts of uselessly spent time , which you can surely use in a more productive or fun way. I kinda gave up on MMO's long time ago and it was a great decision.

Exaclty. Those games are all about grinding, or they are Pay-to-Win.
Well, most F2P are this way. Unless they go the only-cosmetics way, without any buffs to the character. But usually, the devs get too tempted to include paid buffs and ruin the game.

There's a few that try and be decent about it, pay to skip the grindfest and pay for bling instead of an advantage.

I don't mind to pay for items, but the game itself should be Free-To-Play. I'm not paying for items after I've paid €60 for a game.

I don't think that a (serious, wanting profit)game developer would ever come here to get opinion from players.

There's a lot of the stuff games studio's crave here and it comes in a handy digital form, the market follows the money. Follow the press section and its obvious journalists create threads here for research and some businesses seem to have caught onto it too, bitcoin's ideal for games so I wouldn't be surprised if they start doing their research here at some stage (and there's an awful lot of games threads active atm).
I was refering exactly *here*. I know that game developers need opinion from players to see if their games will sell or not. But Bitcoin is far from mass adoption, so I don't think that game developers would ever search for things here.

I'm pretty sure developers search forums for ideas to implement into their games or the general feel to go with.

League of legends is nice... still waiting for a good new MMORPG to play...

Yeah same. I'm waiting for a new MMORPG to play. A decent one. League of legends wasn't for me. It's pay to win basically.
