Maybe those times when the market was totally up and high. I missed a lot of opportunities during that time and it's the same for 2017 and 2021. I sold too early and did have to decide because I've got no choice even if I want to hold longer. Although it has sufficed for my needs during those times still I think this is like the lowest point for which instead of making decent money, I have to spend it as soon as I've converted it. It may not that literally the lowest point but I think IMO it can count.

We all have ups and downs in life. If you are old enough, there must be some painful period that you thought you'd never get over but actually you did. What was your lowest point in life ? Especially when it comes to finanical difficulties ? How did you survive ?

My lowest point was back to study overseas in XXX country decades ago. At the time, my moeny was robbed and the school kicked me of dormitory due to the overdue fees. I was reluctant to ask money from my parents and I was collecting garbage food for nearly two months to survive. Luckily one of my friends at church helped me find a part-time job and I lived on that little money for a long time. That was really an aweful experience but I am glad I made it through. What is your story ?

My lowest point financially was back in the last four months of 2019(September-December). I lost my job and I didn't have any side income.
My savings were down to around 1500 USD and I was spending them for food and paying the bills. I wasn't starving or homeless, but it sucked.
I got a job in January 2020 and I also joined the Bestchange sig campaign back then. I accumulated more Bitcoins and the BTC started growing later on. I wasn't that financially desperate back then and I really hope that I won't get into a worse financial situation in the future.
The future is going to suck. Inflation is high and the costs of heating during the winter increased more than 200% in my country.

I can't remember what my lowest point was financially, as we always struggled financially when I was in school. I don't know if all of us experience this, but there are really times when we have nothing to eat, or if we have rice, we need to pair it with oil (yes, coconut oil or soy sauce), and we also have to beg for allowance and tuition from those who have positions in government. But I'm not thinking about it right now because my outlook is always positive. I've also had this experience with my family and one daughter(she is 6 months I think that time), and we got to the point where we needed to eat rice with coffee($0.053) as a dish to eat well because I'd lost my job at the time. But again, I don't want to recall it now, as it kind of hurt me. So yes, whatever happened in our past, let's be positive now and work our hardest so that we don't experience it again.

My experience may be very different from yours. When I was still in junior high school, we couldn't study comfortably due to the conflict in the area where I lived. Almost every night we heard gunshots and during the day our parents could not move because of the large number of soldiers conducting field operations.
The peace agreement has removed our fear, people can carry on their normal activities and we can continue our education comfortably.

A good topic to understand and learn about is how people motivate themselves after going through a black streak. It happens sooner or later to everyone, but it's important to get up and keep going. My experience is also related to starting a business in which a lot of money was invested, but taxing all the profits as a result did not make sense for continuing the business. Having gained experience, I started again, but with less ambition.

Same with mine too. I took a loan and invested a lot in my business hoping that it will give me a big break from all my financial struggles, yet it end up in failure. So I have no choice but  to find some other sources of income so I can still survive together with my family. That failed business really leave me a traumatic experience, maybe that’s all we got if we want quick profits. For now, I’m starting to recover from my losses and I’m glad I have land into a well compensated job that helped me completely to build a new desire again to put up my own business hopefully soon.

I'm not particularly low, I like to plan anything. There was probably only one time when I made an investment and spent more money than I planned. I misjudged and lost half my money. I will follow the plan carefully in the future. Even making money is within the plan. I admit that I am a cautious person.

and those lessons can be shared with anyone in here, and this little bit out of topic what online businesses you do right know? Im currently depends on signature campaign only. It pay my bills and only couple dollar left to spend Sad that's why I want to try something else

1. Buying/selling digital goods (in-game items)
2. A small marketing firm
3. I run a few websites that earn a bit of passive income

You don't need to replicate what I did though. Everyone has their own skills/interests.

After reading all the story here, I feel lucky I have my loving parents.  I am jobless for about 3 years after my study.  I got more interested in Network Marketing so I joined lots of networking company.  I thought I was making money but I realized it late when I ran out of funds.  I come to think that Network marketing isn't for me so I stopped and been with my parents leeching to what they had until I found a new job.  I did not feel much troubled because I have parents I can rely during my down moments.  Even though they never failed to remind me about network marketing, they still support me when I ran out of money until I am back and up with my finances again.

My lowest point was the 2007 crisis. From one day to the next I found myself without a job and without savings, without money. Since then it happened to me like in the movie Gone with the Wind, I promised myself like the main character that it would never happen to me again, and I kept my promise. At the moment I have 4 sources of income, savings and investments. I was almost unaffected by inflation. I have seen prices go up, but since I had increased my purchasing power, I have been able to pay with the price increase and still save and invest more.

*STOP NOWHERE*
Actually, I've never been confortable with my financial life. I'm always trying to increase my income, to develop new income sources, to create and sell products, but it always seems it's never enough and I never succeed. There are goals I want to achieve, I want to purchase a property, to have an independent life, to have a degree and a profession, but all these things cost money, and the more time passes, the more concerned I become regards my future. I'm aware I'm not in a terrible situation, because there are people living harder times than me, but what most bothers me is that I feel my life just doesn't develop at all. The stagnant feeling for so long is even worse than a temporary poverty situation you overcome after a while.

I also have this feeling, I have never felt comfortable about my finances, I am not greedy, and I still work hard day and night, but every time I look back at myself and my classmates. I have never been like them or equal to them, at my age, they have everything but I still have nothing. This year my finances have also improved a bit compared to previous years, but I think I need to work twice as hard to keep up with my friends. Sometimes I think, my time has not come.

When it comes to financial difficulties, I've had countless of low points, mostly when I was still a student or a small kid. I grew up poor so it's kind of difficult to really pinpoint that lowest point. There were really bad days. We used to gather loose change just to raise an amount for something as basic as a kilo of rice. We used to share plain porridge for a meal. I used to sleep hungry. In short, I know what it is to be poor. But we're never really dirt poor. I think we never missed a meal, but a meal could only consist of boiled bananas.

I guess this experience contributed to my being a financial risk-taker. Somehow I feel assured that if all my financial decisions in life prove to be wrong in the end, and I will have to get back to where I started, that's already a familiar world to me. I've already learned to embrace it.

I totally understand how you feel. The stagnant feeling of not improving much is much worse than temporary poverty because it breeds fear that drains your spirit day by day. Poverty is something that stimulates you to run for living, which is sometimes necessary and healthy for our personal growth. Hope we get better eventually.

Went almost 100% on a shitcoin in 2016 that caused me to basically start over. Bounced back in 2017 by creating online businesses and went high allocation on bitcoin.

While I would've been in a far better place today if I didn't mess up in 2016 (still haunts me a bit, not gonna lie), there's nothing for me to do than to accept that huge loss as an expensive lesson and just move on.

and those lessons can be shared with anyone in here, and this little bit out of topic what online businesses you do right know? Im currently depends on signature campaign only. It pay my bills and only couple dollar left to spend Sad that's why I want to try something else

I think when I stopped in college and can no longer pay the tuition and can't even get a students loan. I am at that point of time that I went outside the church, sitted down and just cried and telling to the air that I still want to pursue my studies.

Well, it's also due to my recklessness when I was younger and that's why I have to come up to that point of life because I didn't became serious at first when we're living well not until, my parents financial status crashed.

So whats happen now are you still in college

damn I need to hear all your story guys.

anyway I will tell you mine but I'm still at the stage of recovery. I'm still living with my parent and my monthly cost is around 100$
this is not the lowest point of my life but still it happen recently. I got fired on my previous work when the covid 19 came. And then Im struggle find a new job I have been tried but still none i think it because I have lack of skill Sad and then i browse Bitcointalk and found a coin called Idena that basically pays you for resolving captcha after that I life monthly basis using money that i get from Idena.

After that I do bounty like I'm doing right know and there is a token called ETNA and I got paid around 1500$ that huge, especially for signature campaign. and I'm starting to look other alternatives the year is 2021 when crypto reach bullish, Im doing all in to some of private sale ventures and ICO and yes it give me a huge money till Crypto crash coming on Q1 2022. and that's is my fault I think investing in new project always give u a dozen profit but when there crypto winter like this all is vanished and nothing all my invested money turn into dust and here I am but like @mk4 this could be huge lesson for other

Although I've experienced many ups and downs in my life, the most agonizing was back in 2017. My eth was stolen by hackers as a result of my ignorance of the cryptocurrency sector, particularly about asset protection, and I sold my coin early in 2018 even though it would now be worth millions of dollars. I might be enjoying my life right now if I had just been conscious of things back then.

Give all before death

It is more challenging when you were ones financially stable and later face a downtime. Those that have been poor might not feel the pain of facing lack because they are used to poverty. My own case was the death of my well to do father. I was a teenager when I lost my dad and it put the family into total financial distress because medical bills drained my father's wealth. My mum was not financially stable so we had to stay for days sometimes without good food. We would survive on a cheap local snacks that only made us survive. I and my siblings would have to hawk vegetables and fruits in the streets of my area to assist my mother's petty trade. I had to sleep in classrooms when I was admitted in a college because I couldn't afford to pay for house or hostel rent.

What kept me going was the consciousnesses that the suffering wouldn't last forever. I had to get a dry-cleaning job where I manually washed and ironed cloths. I also was fortunate to befriend a girl that was wiling to help me. With my little income and her assistance, I graduated and got a job. Today, I look back at those days and I am grateful to God that I didn't give up.

Bisq Market Day - March 20th 2023
My whole life was a complete Roller coaster and I saw both extremes even before my mid 20s. As far as I know the worst ever financial situation is just left with 1000 dollars and that's all I had after my business completely broke but luckily I paid debt with gold and other assets.

Then started working on different levels from $400 per month to $5000 in a day now just enjoying my life and I hope I won't see a downtrend atleast in the near future.

Working and earning $5000 daily. While I would not want to cast any doubt on your earnings as it is none of my business, I must admit it is hard to believe. But nevertheless, you would obviously be enjoying your life earning $5000 a day. Who wouldn’t?
I do hope you don’t spend all your $5000 in one place  Wink

The interesting but sad thing is most people will face the same thing when they go all in for the shitcoins, mostly people leave the market with empty pockets that's good to see you didn't give up.
Talking about myself a few years ago I lost all the money I worked just in a few minutes because of a mistake I made while buying and transferring bitcoins, I remember I didn't even have enough money for buying cheap stuff, but after all those hard I could stand up and I got all I lose in a few months.

I've had no remarkable low point in crypto which other users can learn from and would not want to share orivaet experiences outside this space.

But what has allowed me overcome situations I've found myself is always staying curious. Curious for ideas, solutions, suggestions etc. It's easy to feel defeated if things don't go as planned and throw in the towel, but by remaining curious, you would remain open to new opportunities. This of course is just one ingredient out of many which we need to acquire to achieve success.
