I think Ether price would hit $600 this year, though I do not expect the Eth 2.0 to launch this year and that would push the price above $1000 next year. The only thing that can prevent the growth of Ethereum is Ethereum is the team fail to solve the scaling issue before a new blockchain come up with this solution. Even though everything still depends on Bitcoin but if the Ethereum market can be consistent as it is today which continues to be strong even if there is a correction that occurs, then I think the end of this year at least 1k is the expected achievement or maybe it will be higher or lower, but at least to hit 1k by the end of the year for Ethereum is still very likely to happen.
It good you're totally aware that the bullish and downtrend of the crypto market right now depend on the momentum bitcoin market presented but the reason why ETH market seems to be constant is because of the upcoming ETH2.0 cause more than 80% of ETH enthusiast believe ETH will experience a ridiculous surge in price. You read my mind. Most people never expected that Ethereum would rise so much. Their expectation was even to see it dump more, but fortunately, it kept on growing. For like some days now, it been passing through some corrections, but considering the potential it showed, it can get to $1k.

The main focus for all trader/investor is ETH must taking back the privious all time i.e $1400 at 2017 ago. The increasing price to $400 right now has gave a good thing for ETH and make the investor and all trader believe that the privious all time will be reached as soon as possible. More than that, the fundamental factor for ETH is good until now. As an example, the popularitiy of DeFi should give a big impact for the ETH in the future. There will be many new DeFi project in the future and it will give a good impact for ETH, seem like $2000 for this year is reasonable to reach.
With this hype comes a hefty price. But I am seeing that eth will be likely below 1k, just a realistic prediction here. Don't get all your hopes up because you may be disappointed if your expectations are not met. Anyway, the market is looking good. Even btc is very near at $12 mark.
