What will happen after cryptocurrencies? Who knows that and who can tell how long will they last so when this " after" will come. To my opinion cryptocurrencies could only be replaced by more advantced technology but I don't think this is going to happen any time soon. Cryptocurrencies are actually only at the begininig and they still have a long way to grow and develope.

Money changed its shape through the history. As from non-monetary exchange to the need of having money. Fast forward to our current banknotes which are in my opinion slowly dying with bitcoin taking over. Many discussions are being held if bitcoin can be the primary currency in the world. Let's assume it can be. Everything has an end so what do you think will come after bitcoin? What will money look like hundreds of years from now? I predict its gonna be digital of course but I'm interested if its going to be a cryptocurrency or something else.

To be honest, it’s hard to imagine what the next type of payment means will evolve into, before it was just goods(barter), then pieces of paper(banknotes), then credit cards, now it can be cryptocurrency ... What will happen next, maybe people will be tired of counting the value of their lives in numbers and pieces of paper and they will begin to count their time and pay them, as in the film "In Time".  Smiley

I think the currency after bitcoin is going to be digital also. When you are talking about the next 100 years there are lots of possibilities. Bitcoin was originally created as a digital store of value, it will stay like that in the next 100 years. Surely, another form of money will popup but we don't know which one yet perhaps in the future.

Governments and Banks are fans of digitized transactions but they want them to happen in their own currencies
I think that the trend is going to be a digital cash based on the current fiat ecosystem.
Citizens will always be in favor of decentralized currencies such as bitcoin and bitcoin may gain popularity in the future but it wont be the main currency of people.

We cannot say anything in advance, the value of cryptocurrencies after hundreds of years will probably be raised to new heights. I think with the outstanding potential that blockchain technology brings, the future will be a global payment paradise, widely used all over the world, becoming a common means of payment for all countries.

We are still at early stage so there are still lots of things that could happen, we might know, apart from cryptocurrency there is still good way that they are developing. Still a long way to go, so for now while we still have the chance to earn for a living and to accumulate, let's not take it for granted and let us use our earnings wisely.
Depend of value how with bitcoin and altcoin price to know how the future with crypto market, if bitcoin still lower price just waiting when bitcoin and altcoin gone as currencies and investment way, today bitcoin looks down and we worry will next year still have bitcoin as transaction and investment?

Cryptocurrency is the innovated money of this era. Knowing that it is digital and not fiat. It is stored in your desired application in which we are using to store our money. Instead of holding much money physically we are using cryptocurrency as a visible entity only. And in terms of payment method it is convenient to use because it is safe and faster transaction in every business purposes or any other purposes. I am looking forward to our future using cryptocurrency as our worldwide and using as one currency. Cryptocurrency is not dying, they can only say that because they can see the value in the market that it is falling down but for me it is normal since cryptocurrency is volatile in terms of price, meaning it is changing time by time when there is transaction happened, when some one sells token or buy tokens the price is changing.

Digital currency can't replace cash in terms of a direct transaction, no delay, no need to wait for confirmation, even if compared to any cryptocurrency, there is none that can be instant payment such as cash. It's a long way, can't imagine even in another century for digital currency to completely replace cash.

The future depends on how humanity lives. If we make our planet barely inhabitable or destroy each other in the Nuclear War, then 500 years from now people would probably exchange goods for goods. If we continue technological progress and prosperity, we might have some financial system embedded into our bodies or we might be digital along with the money.
I like this statement. Existing development is a manifestation of human needs that always develop each time. At the moment cryptocurrency, especially bitcoin, is more effective than fiat in certain aspects, for example in its use which is not limited in space and time, the only problem is legality.
In my opinion, before there are other innovations that are better than cryptocurrency, the world will be more receptive to cryptocurrency, so that slowly will begin to present new coins or tokens that can be controlled by the government.

I see no signs that with the advent of bitcoin or cryptocurrencies, in general, paper money shows any signs of its disappearance. In my opinion, cryptocurrency will not revolutionize financial relations, as many assume. Of course, the influence of cryptocurrency, especially with the growing interest in it of ordinary users, is huge. However, cryptocurrency will occupy only its niche among other means of payment and will go along with the national money of states. There are many prospects for its use when combined with other types of means of payment, however, bitcoin or other cryptocurrency will not be able to replace the traditional payment systems or become dominant among them.

I think the future financial condition of the world will start using a new digital currency so I am sure that from the existence of technologies such as the blockchain that can produce cryptocurrency and be developed there will be a lot of new digital currencies created by combining it with various kinds of digital currency technologies.

If cryptocurrencies will be gone, I do not think people can get over it. Honestly speaking, cryptocurrency becomes part of our lives and investment; it is proven that it helps a lot of people. Losing it will be hard indeed.

It is really hard to make guesses about it. Maybe cryptocurrencies will reign for hundreds of years. So, the technology will evolve into a completely different thing too of course. I wish I could see that times too. Cheesy
It can't be sure to see crypto existence for a hundred years, it probably we are dead already... Grin
But we're not supposed to think this technology will dissolve pretty easy. Of course, it seems to be valuable today and it is probably more as the majority of the business groups will adopt the system as well as accepting it as a mode of payment.
No more any currency after cryptocurrency unless if we are going back to the stone age. cryptocurrency is a perfect currency because it is peer-to-peer, digital currency, super-fast, lower transaction fees, and yet fully decentralized. Tell me what more do you like better than this, huh?

I think Still cryptocurrency is in the early stage of their movement, it's true that with the change of time, the shape and pattern have been changed so in the future we are getting another new shape of money for sure, already we have got the plastic money, digital contract money, so it's really amazing that we are the (our generation) withness of these evolutions of money, Science has brought to us a lot of changes in our lifestyle, so it can't be predicted that which form money we will get in the future, but after digital currency what should we get? that's why I think cryptocurrency will be the dominant form of money in the future. let's see what will come.
I also believe that only after 10 years, cryptocurrency will receive worldwide recognition and will be widely used around the world. So far, cryptocurrencies are at the stage of depression. But I believe that the price of Bitcoin will be above $ 15,000 next year.

I will never know that but I add a little that As we see today cryptocurrency has been considered as an investment tool for some people, and is used in various aspects of life. blockchain technology itself has been developed a lot when compared to a few years ago, now there are such things as smartcontracts etc. and their functions are various, from financial to gaming and much more.

It is possible to have a new coin in the future after bitcoin because as what we have right now our money features are exchanging their physical appearance and I think that is also how cryptocurrency will improve even more in the future. New coin or maybe new features of cryptocurrencies in the future. We are still not yet in that phase so maybe let's just stop assuming something new. LOL. But the better version is good I know.

Yes it too much to assume what will happen in the future when our present is currently tangled between the fluctuations and volatile market. I belive there might be two set of crypto currencies one for investment purpose and the other one will be stable version of it will be used to quick transaction and storage, etc. Bitcoin was a mode of peer to peer transactions and off late it has become like a risk investment wherein it's now primarily used as investment purpose and secondary for transfer of money.

100 years from now? that's an insane imagination we need to give opinion about that, but let's get wild here. When that happens (cryptocurrency ended) my bet would be, our technology will be super advance compare to what we have now, we're going to feel like we're living back in the stone age looking for that 100 years from now. We might even use built in chip that contains the dedicated money we will spent in our entire life, like those sci-fi movies we watch.

and that's pretty scary for me, because what if you are a person who spend his money on random things that you only wanted, you'll starve to death by that.
