Money changed its shape through history. As from non-monetary exchange to the need of having money. Fast forward to our current banknotes which are in my opinion slowly dying with bitcoin taking over. Many discussions are being held if bitcoin can be the primary currency in the world. Let's assume it can be. Everything has an end so what do you think will come after bitcoin? What will money look like hundreds of years from now? I predict its gonna be digital of course but I'm interested if it's going to be a cryptocurrency or something else.
It is possible to have a new coin in the future after bitcoin because as what we have right now our money features are exchanging their physical appearance and I think that is also how cryptocurrency will improve even more in the future. New coin or maybe new features of cryptocurrencies in the future. We are still not yet in that phase so maybe let's just stop assuming something new. LOL. But the better version is good I know.

If we imagine the future.
I don't think Bitcoin will be main currency, maybe as alternate currency is right.
The digital payment will dominate and banknotes will useless. We maybe will pay service and goods with digital number from our phone. But the problem maybe the hacker will keep attacking the digital payment. So Bitcoin will be solution because it is decentralized, hard hacker can manipulate it.

I was lost and came back up again.

Cryptocurrency hasn't become mainstream yet OP wanna replace crypto already, how negative is that.
Cryptocurrency and blockchain had been working perfectly well to solve many cases that our current system isn't. Why will this blockchain system be replaced when this is better except for the regulations. We have't tried this path yet until we see there is no need for new system, I guess blockchian is the best existing solution that will only be improved.

The future will be a whole new financial system framework for sure and further development will be made for people to feel more convinient using services and im sure blockchain technology and cryptocurrency will surely help to that development. Our technology is developing everyday and im sure it will continue to develop as lon as the smart minds behind it keep on working.
Technology is evolving, but I think it’s not as fast as it could. A lot of cheating and abuse in all sectors. Even in the cryptocurrency market, there are also many scammers. One must be careful even here.

Actually cryptocurrency was not yet widely useful and even considered illegal in some countries. Cryptocurrency was its initial phase today and its adoption was still on the process. On the other hand, we don't know what will be the next discovery related to currencies. What is for sure is that it will all about digital advancement.

It's not bad to think about the future of cryptocurrency I think it is still new up to this period. It is still in the process of adoption since not all agencies accept it. But surely, the technology behind it is really good and can convince a lot of people to accept it.
If we like a lot of people to use crypto, that means we like a massive adoption, and I think its possible only if the government will regulate crypto with a crypto friendly law. People then will start using it as they know it's regulated and they are not at any risk, although the volatility will still remain but if there's a 3rd party that will help remove it, things will be better, for example, the LN, this one is just a solution for massive adoption but it will not push through aggressively if the government is also not aggressive in regulating the market.

You mean better than cryptocurrency?
I think it is possible, or maybe cryptocurrency becomes even more. Cryptocurrency can still improve and we all know that.
We cant still see its maximum capability and we all know that cryptocurrency is still a child, waiting for a great developer to make an improvement in the crypto world.
Yes, maybe crypto will be at its best in the future with extensive utilities. At that time, I was sure the majority of the world community had used Cryptocurrency. I am still waiting for this to come true. When crypto is already used by the majority, then maybe there will be new technology that is more advanced.

Right now making any assumption about a new form of currency doesn't make much sense. I doubt many could have predicted blockchain and cryptos. Moreover, cryptocurrencies are in there initial phase. They are not even mainstream yet and talking about currency after it is baseless as of now. But yes, when supercomputers become a reality, we will need a better replacement to crytocurrency.

First and foremost what you need to know and understand is that, Bitcoin is not really taking over banknotes. The number of people using or who own bitcoin are not that many comparing to the number of people who have no idea of what bitcoin or cryptocurrency is or its existence.  Cryptocurrency might take over but not any moment from now. It might really take a long time.
Correct, bitcoin is an alternative payment option so far and it hasn't reached high enough heights to be able to take over the previous payment options like fiat currencies.

It'll all depend on how many people actually like using BTC for their day to day transactions, if the public isn't supporting moving over the crypto-currencies, we'll never see that happen and it'll just spell drama for us.

I probably say its government virtual money if cryptocurrencies movement is still the same as now. we know government are making their steps to control btc and crypto but it wouldn't happen so they will surely make their own virtual currency in the time has come. but it is "WHAT IF" it will happen? I am not sure cryptocurrency in that time is still profitable.

I think we can not guess and predict the future of what will be like? for now only bitcoin adoption has not been evenly distributed throughout the world. and there are still many people who don't understand bitcoin and cryptocurrency. so to adopt bitcoin as a payment tool worldwide still requires quite a long time maybe 5 to 10 years. so I can't think of what money will circulate after cryptocurrency. instead of thinking about this we better think of how to improve our cryptocurrency.

I believe there's a better system to be invented at the time centuries ahead of us. When digital currency is almost fully adopted by all, transactions are held online, limitations are gone and fiat is non-present, where smart devices are a neccessity instead of luxury. Those times are far ahead but I believe there will be something far better from bitcoin, surpassing bitcoin's current limitations, from transaction speed to security.

We cannot say anything in advance, the value of cryptocurrencies after hundreds of years will probably be raised to new heights. I think with the outstanding potential that blockchain technology brings, the future will be a global payment paradise, widely used all over the world, becoming a common means of payment for all countries.

We are still at early stage so there are still lots of things that could happen, we might know, apart from cryptocurrency there is still good way that they are developing. Still a long way to go, so for now while we still have the chance to earn for a living and to accumulate, let's not take it for granted and let us use our earnings wisely.
